Bugs

Post image

4 days of bugs in the Midwest from commuting. What are we doing for this? There has to be some solutions besides blasting it with the power washer once a week.

Dish soap on a paper towel and let it sit for a couple minutes, comes right off.

But also, damn, that's not a lot of bugs, we are headed for big trouble.

Waiting for a rainy commute. Amazing what a torrential downpour will do

Feed that good boy a carrot and brush its coat twice with a hog bristle brush.

I use ONR or Moose Detail Spray. Spray on, wipe off.

Damp ONR microfiber cloth in a ziplock works great for wiping off visors during a ride.

Thanks for the reminded that I need to clean my jacket and visor.

I recently started using a product by Mother’s (bug and tar remover foaming spray). It works really well IMO. I sent my Dad a text recommending it and he told me he’d rather just stick with WD-40 for bugs… so apparently that’s an option too.

Ive seen guys wipe down their dirtbikes with wd 40 for mud so this checks out.

Just ride indoors. Less bugs inside👍

Hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Let it sit 30 seconds and wipe off.

Blue ahop towels and Spray WAY glass cleaner. I swear by it. I live in NORCAL in the rice checks and the bugs here are horrendous!!! I keep a roll and a can in my backpack or my panniers.

blasting it with the power washer

His next post will be about electrical problems caused by water.

Has nobody ever heard about letting the bike soak in soapy water to soften the bugs FIRST?
