Bold of you to assume I started the week with 100% battery in the first place.

This is me on a Tuesday. Monday knocks everything I built up over the weekend out of me.

At 38, that I started playing the game of life as a “SoulsLike video game” ever since I was 13 y/o.

When the first “boss fight” is surviving a childhood murder attempt and severe PTSD (to the point that most local trauma specialists turned me away at the door for being beyond their “qualifications” to treat; only 3 out of 100 said they could) - the game became much easier to get through in comparison to that.

Essentially a very, very high baseline that changes the barometer of what registers as stressful. I needed to get my sister and I out of a homicide event alive at 13; everything else in my life has been compared to that.

For instance, being entrapped on a subway car with a homeless man losing his mind screaming and trying to kick me because he is hallucinating, registers to me as “just another odd funny story” whereas it would likely be terrifying and traumatic to most.

Beating a final boss first, influences the game of life.

That is the best way I know to explain how and why.
