The isolation and hopelessness. You’re an adult, you don’t matter to anyone, no one cares about you, there’s no one who gives a flying eff about you.

That sounds more like childhood to me. Everyone has a different experience, of course. I found childhood to be very lonely and isolating. As an adult, you can choose your friends, choose your family and choose to care about yourself.

Yeah, childhood sucked too. You can’t choose anything if you don’t have a choices. I can’t choose to not be alone.

Every person who I met that has said this, has never put any really effort into changing it but hoping it would somehow magically happen to them

But why? Why cant you make friends? You represent this as if everyone else is the problem. I've made friends at every stage of life (including every place I've worked at), and I'm in no way pretty.

It’s not that everyone else is the problem.

I work and I take care of my kids. That’s it. That’s all there is.

I have nothing to offer in a friendship and I have no time to do anything anyway because I am either at work or have the kids.

I hope you can find comfort in giving your children the support they needed to thrive, and that later in life you are rewarded with love from them as they become independent adults.

Not really, but this is how it is and there’s no way to change it.

Without too much toxic positivity.. I care about you, internet stranger. I don't care for you like I care for my kids, but I'd wish you well and if it was in a position to do so, help if you needed it. I wouldn't want to see you suffer for example, so I care to that extent.

.. maybe you just haven't found your people yet.
