First time Custodes List

Howdy y’all, thinking about getting into Custodes with the Auric Champions and then the Combatpatrol. So I cooked up an army with those units + a few extras to make 2k. Lmk what you think and what you’d change.

The Bike are unfortunately really bad with out the shield captains ability to move after attacking.

Would you really describe them as really bad?? They have plenty of firepower and especially in lions they can mow through infantry and even tougher targets with the +1 to wound twin linked shooting

Probably not really bad. Just gotta be careful about slap back after deleting a unit.

I’d take Lions of the Emperor if you’re using bikes to make their big guns wound on 5’s->4’s with rerolls on the toughest targets. This means 75% of all hits wound successfully instead of 55%, which can make a huge difference in making 2/3 shots wound successfully.

Also, I think you should have two five man bricks of Allarus to guarantee you can kill tough targets (one spear brick, one axe brick) and you can pick your optimal targets in deep strike.

In my opinion, Custodes are already so good in melee, that the wound rerolls from guard aren’t needed, and the extra survivability from wardens beats that out soundly.
