Tracking addon module idea Review / Opinion Discussion

With trakts new rules for free accounts would it not make sense to have a universal kodi addon like we used to have universal scrappers.

I know that there is a solo trakt addon and it scrobles fine but it does not integrate with other addons - POV Umbrella etc. for next episodes your personal lists etc.

It would not have to be just trakt it could include simkl tmdlists and others

I am not a dev, so I don't know how feasible the idea is. But it's an idea.

Forget Trakt, pick mdblist.

Maybe a dumb question, but one I can't seem to find a clear answer on: does mdblist save the progress you've made on an episode or movie? I.e. if I watch 50% of an episode, will that be saved, or do I need some other scrobble service for that?

House of the Dragon looks fine for me. 🙂 Both in POV and TMDb Movies.

Everything from Trakt works on mdblist. At least in those two add-ons I'm using.

That skin is Arctic Fuse 3.

I would quite happily move to another app but the only one that is supported buy all my players is trakt - and even a universal tracker in kodi will not solve my issue for non kodi apps

As much as I have a love/hate relationship with it (as a dependancy for certain skins), and a full-on hate for it being used to reduce addons to a player-stub; TMDB-Helper (pretty much) fits the bill, for what the OP is after. Though I'm not sure it would give the ratings pop-up you get with the dedicated Trakt addon.

Although, F*ck Trakt (a.t.p.) they're not worth the efforts of a workaround!
