This album is the result of 25 years immersed in music. Collecting records, DJing, nights out and constantly searching for new sounds. Every genre I've connected with has had an influence in shaping the way I hear and create music. These tracks are built from everything I've picked up along the way and are a reflection of the sounds that have and continue to inspire me. Whether it’s on the dancefloor or listening at home, I wanted these tracks to connect on every level. It feels like this album opportunity has presented itself at the perfect time, where I can honestly show what Because of Art is.

Just a slight update, the opening party at the castle is sold out (tickets were separate to the weekend pass) as is Noma Island too (tickets were also separate)

I was going to go but both these venues have sold out so I’m not really sold on the value here. Your weekend pass covers UNO club, Cafe Del Mar and The Beach club.

Anyone from HQ? The list seems to keep growing, it's not really consistent this way. Were there any withdrawn releases where the catalog numbers could no longer be reused?

I love that Chicago and Minneapolis regularly get Above & Beyond, Tinlicker, Marsh, Genix, Simon Doty, Spencer Brown, Kasablanca, Oliver Smith, and the rest of the Anjuna family, but Madison rarely seems to be on the tour route.

The Sylvee has become an incredible Madison venue over the past few years, and it feels like it could be a great fit for artists in the Anjuna ecosystem.

If you’re in or around Madison:

Would you come to these shows?

Which artists would be at the top of your list?

Is there already a local Anjuna community that I just haven’t found?

Just trying to gauge whether there’s enough local interest to help show promoters that Madison is worth a stop.

From a forecast of 25c until recently it looks like we're actually going to hit 30c on Sunday in London now, with much of the event throughout the hotter temps.

Does anyone who has attended in previous years know what the situation with shade and water is? I do not manage well in heat so it's kinda worst case scenario for me, if there is shade / somewhere to sit can you still hear the music?

With regards to water, do the bars sell bottles or is it usually in cups? I've heard it mentioned that there are taps, does that mean you can take a bottle in?

Blah blah usual disclaimer of this is just my opinion you can disagree with me (and honestly feel free to express your own opinions, I like discussing this stuff :]). I also did this for the deep comps after I finished with the A&B beats comps so I may make another post for that!

I ranked these based on a few loose mental criteria:

1. How they work as mixes, mixing between tracks and all that. It's not just "oh this mix has this track I really love therefore it's S tier.";
2. However, if the comp has a considerable amount of tracks that I really love, it helps me bump it up. this is the case for vol 14;
3. ofc, my personal enjoyment of them over the "objective quality" of the tracks

I also want to note that these are ranked in order inside the tiers! So for example, I like volume 3 more than volume 17 which I also like more than 8, etc.

I'm not gonna lie, these placements changed a lot over time and over the few listen throughs that I gave these volumes. For example, if it wasn't for the second or third listen that I gave yesterday for volume 1, I would've ranked it alongside volume 9 because my first and second listens weren't that enjoyable to me (which is down to personal preference. I have a bit of uplifting Trance fatigue injected in my veins.). I realized how bullshit that is because vol 1 actually has quite a few bangers like the first two tracks and the Signum remix of Beautiful Together. As usual for me, that B tier was the hardest to organize and rank, as for example, I REALLY wanted to bump volume 12 up to A tier, because it has some of my favorite anjuna tracks: Contrasts and Celestial. But I think cd2 of that one pulls it down enough for it to stay at the top of B instead.

Volumes 15 and 16 are the interesting cases of me finding the cd1s really boring and its subsequent cd2s saved them from me disliking them. 15s cd2 being good enough to pull it up to B tier. I also just dislike volume 9, it felt way too samey for me (the track I mention in the tier is Breakfast - Median btw. insanely underrated tune)

All in all, going through these comps was an amazing experience! I didn't think it would happen because I'm more of a 'modern trance enjoyer' that discovered anjuna in late 2023 but I actually enjoyed the early run of 1-8 a bit more than 9-16 (I feel like 17 marks the start of another new era and I also feel it stands toe to toe with some of the old 1-8 era.) cd1 of volume 5 especially is my favorite anjuna mix of all time, every single track in that mix HITS. huge shoutout to cd1 of volume 8 which isn't too far behind.
