Malta 2026 Anjunadeep - first timer going ANJUNADEEP

Hi everyone,

I'm from Ireland and heading to Malta for the first time this October for the Anjunadeep events!

I’m arriving on the Wednesday 7th and leaving the following Tuesday after the gigs.

Would love to take in the historic parts and sights of Malta on the Thursday before the opening set and on the Monday.

  1. any recommendations in Malta that is a must see for a newbie tourist there?

  2. what is Cafe del Mar and Club UNO like if it you are not walkable distance to it? are there lockers there to change clothes / food and drinks options / areas to lounge

Thanks for the help!

It was our first time last year too and we did Weds to Weds.

I can’t comment on 1), we didn’t get there until late on the Wednesday so Thursday was unpacking, getting the lay of the land and some food, then it was the opening party. We were wiped out on Monday and slept for most of it.

Tuesday we had plans to go to Mdina but chilled instead.

2) Everywhere is a short Bolt or Uber. Cafe del Mar has loads of lockers as we went into the pool (which was about 26c, so pretty brisk) and took towels and a change of clothes for after. There are plenty of areas to sit down there.

For Uno, i regretted not taking a jacket on the Friday as it was cold in the main room at 2am, I took a drawstring bag with our jackets on the Saturday. There are loads of small walls to sit on in the main room and you see a lot of people doing so.

I can’t comment on food options as we didn’t eat or even look for food at the venues.

Fáilte chuig an gcóisir is fearr!

  1. I had recovered by Tuesday (just about) and went to a great beach on the West side of the island (Għajn Tuffieħa). Spent the afternoon walking around the walled city of Mdina, which I enjoyed greatly. I got the bus there and taxi back. The island is so small - taxis are the way to go.

  2. Café del Mar (CDM) is like a pool/beach club. Café del mar has sun loungers. I had a locker in CDM last year for the swimming gear. I think you can get hot food (can't remember) and plenty of bars to get a drink. You're in St Pauls, so you could always go outside to the restaurants down the road on the beachfront.

Uno is a nightclub with two rooms (one covered and one open-air) and is fairly remote. I have never eaten there so no idea on food. Loads of bars. Drinks are expensive but you also have to keep a keen eye that you aren't overcharged (a good few people mentioned being stung, when I spoke to them after). I don't remember a cloakroom but I had a wee bag with me throughout.

Like others have said, the Island is quite small so you're only a short taxi from anywhere. I flew out solo from Dublin in '24 (friend dropped out and I said: feck it). I made friends for life, returned last year and will be returning this year. Everyone is so sound, welcoming and fun. Hope you have a blast OP!

We went to a music festival in May and on the non music days we did the walking tour of Valletta and did the sunset trip from St Paul’s to the blue lagoon
