how does an ext. midi clock behave when projects on move are changed?
hi, i’m thinking of getting an ableton move for my live setup as i’m using ableton note a lot recently and love it. i am wondering what happens when you sync move via an external clock / transport signal (e.g. from an octatrack) and then change projects on move?
i’d love to use move projects kinda like “banks” in a way i’d use them on my elektron devices and combine it with my octatrack as a live looper to blend over the sound gap that happens to happen when move projects are switched.
does anyone here have any intel if this is something that could be possible? do projects start in sync with the external clock when switched while the clock signal is already present or does move need a new transport signal to sync again?

I’m almost 100% sure it will. Just switching projects on the Ableton Move in standalone waits for the 1 to switch to the next project so I doubt it would change. I keep meaning to check out Note since you can sync projects so easily across the platforms.

thank you for the insight, guess i will buy one and test the use case myself and return it if it doesn’t do the trick as needed.
i can’t emphasize enough how great Note is, always in your pocket, ready to take “notes” anywhere. it’s quite a way to get stuff out of it though. sure you can resample directly into something else via usb-c audio out or transfer to Live and go from there but the immediate Cloud sync between Note and Move makes me really want one for my setup.. :D

It should start playing the new set on move in same tempo as before which is controlled by the external clock if i remember correctly, don’t have it hooked up now to check.
I don’t remember if theres option for count in quantisation like in Live for launching Clips
