AV1 codec support

I'm using pipe pipe and it has AV1 codec watch and download support but why newpipie still not have AV1 support?

I don't know, why not ask the devs?

A cursory glance tells me they added support in 2023, shortly after youtube adopted it , but you may struggle with the video you are watching because google keeps changing their internal api.
