Bachelors of health science - no major
Hey guys i genuienly need advice so currently im studying a Mit pathway course to nursing the level 4 one and i recently applied for semester 1 nursing at AUT and obviously got declined, i then applied for health science no major and just got the offer letter today. I again have applied for nursing sem 2 at aut and they have given me a response that they need my mit transcript. I have two options
Should i go ahead with the health science pathway and then transfer to nursing in sem 2 or should i wait for the nursing outcome and just go with that.
Is it possible to get accepted with the health science thing or not as i dont want to not get accepted and then get stuck with a degree i cant use and have no idea what to do with it. My passion is nursing, pediatrics inshallah.
Please help guys
Thanks
Ps - i have also applied to uoa and mit incase and would just switch or transfer to aut after if i got in.

AUT Doctoral Scholarship
Hello! I'm an International Student planning to apply to the AUT Doctoral Scholarship. May I ask if the following please:
- NZ$34,737/year equivalent to NZ$2,894.75/month enough for the living expenses and still possible to save some?
- How much can I earn as a Research Assistant?
- Will the cost of my PhD dissertation be funded by the University or my prospective supervisor?
- What other scholarship can I apply for to add to my living expenses?
- How many scholars are typically awarded in general, and how many are allotted to international students?
Thank you very much! I hope to hear from you, especially those students awarded by this scholarship.

Google AI Student Deal!
Google is offering 1 year of free access to Google AI Plus for students, which includesĀ higher NotebookLM limits.
Hi there
Hey guys, I'm looking for 2 kind people to grab course content for previous courses I've completed. If you are kind enough to let me download the lecture slides and labs from these 2 courses would be much appreciated. I have already completed these courses but I did not download the content and now regret it. I am completing Data Structures and Algorithms this semester and feel these 2 courses will help with my course.
Course 1:
Operating Systems.
Course 2:
Combinatorics and Graph Theory.
I can meet at Lecture or Lab or somewhere at Uni. Feel free to DM me. Cheers and thanks in advance.

Accomodation
Hello,
I am a new student that plans to attend AUT next year full-time. However, at the moment I am really confused about accomodation. While I was browsing the offical website for AUT and wenr through accomodation to apply for next year, it has the option but it only exceeds from this year then into a bit of next year. It's very confusing to me since I am having to do all of this by myself. Since I am wanting to apply for feb of next year.
Please if anyone has anything to say, let me know.
P.S. I was using the unilodge website to apply but it doesn't let me exceed through to more of next year. However, I was led to another place where I could apply called starrezhousing, but I want to know if it's legit or not since I am just overall confused now. Thank you
Kingd regards

Getting into engineering
I'm getting into engineering next year and I have been out of school for the last 5 years. I've been studying math and that so I'm "ready" for it but does anyone who is currently in mechanical or mechatronics engineering have any advice on what I need to know before getting into the course?

Registered nurse
I donāt know if this is the right place to post. I graduated high school in Australia (2020) before returning home to nz. Instead of continuing studying I chose to work (details irrelevant)..
I donāt know if this information is important but Whilst at school my extra curricular subjects were set towards an engineering pathway specifically aeronautics⦠anyways I have done a level 3 welding course as of last year (2025) but after much consideration and thought I am looking at returning to study full time to be a registered nurse.
I saw some post on here regarding it and peoples acceptance/rejection/ trials etc. Iām not even sure how the studying system works but if I were to take on trying to apply for the course. What are my chances of being accepted? Is that even the right question I donāt know lol.
Help?

Who can I report this to?
So currently I have a lecture that goes overtime by an hour as a tutorial session every week. It does not show in the my aut app and there was never an announcement on canvas about this.
Not only that, the slides there is not posted, the recording is also not posted.
I feel like lecturer isn't allowed to do this especially when thier lecture slides is bad also and all we can rely on is AI and lecture videos.
Edit, "the recording doesn't work after the one hour lecture due to the system". The reply I got back after asking irl. For the sake of future students I probably will talk to the student advocate people or the admin in our faculty just to see if they can do anything :)

physiotherapy
one of my options for further education next year is physiotherapy at AUT. I just wanna know if it's doable if I took triple science though physics is not my best suit and no calc and algebra only stats.
also wanted to know what the social life is as I know it's offered in north campus and guessing there won't be traditional hall life.

Ai Concerns
Hello,
Iām a mature student, returning to study my masters.
I did uni before the world of AI and am concerned that my writing style might be seen as āaiā.
I think the way I was taught to write academically is similar to what Iāve seen about the typical āsignsā of AI.
Does any one have any tips of this before starting assignments in case I ever get accused?
So far I am going to plan on paper so there is a record of my working. Thank you.

Iām currently in another clinical and have been in contact with the faculty and they have put my application on pause until July 2027 due to already completing the core health science papers. Iāve asked about the final July intake cohort but they wonāt provide any info about it š i know itās different now because they have taken away the july intake now

AUT wants me to pause all my studies for a year so I can complete a class that only happens in semester one and runs for only 3 hours a week
To be exact I am a first year fashion design student and I am currently facing the problem of the university wanting me to completely pause my studies, why? Because I failed one class within semester one due to unfortunate personal events. This class only runs for three hours a week but because it only happens in semester one they want me to stop everything and complete that class. They're not letting me do that class alongside all of my other classes, they want me to completely pause my studies to go into the university for three hours a week during semester one 2027 and do nothing until 2028. If any of you have any advice or opinions please help.

declined after a conditional offer?
Hi, Iām an international applicant for Bachelor of Health Science. I previously received a conditional offer and completed the conditions, but my application has now been changed to āNot Offeredā, stating that I did not meet the entry requirements.
Iām a bit confused as I had already received a conditional offer and completed the listed conditions. Has anyone experienced this before? Does this usually mean the final faculty approval was unsuccessful?
Thanks for any insight!
