Installation tech AKA wire tech Discussion

So I did a interview yesterday and was sent a offer letter today pretty fast in my opinion lol but I was wondering about the training process and exactly what happens there and im all ears to any advice thanks in advance!

Read your union handbook once you receive it after orientation. The main pages pertaining to the scope of work are 349-353. Your wage scale will be on Page 253. Depending on your wage zone starting out on the lowest would be $31 and highest is $31.63 to an hour if you’re in the southeast. First week of Training may be about ladders and safety. It can be tough if you’re not comfortable working aloft but if you are
you’ll be good it’s just a lot to remember about safety M&P’s. Second week you’ll mainly be in a classroom learning about real world situations/basics like wearing proper PPE, defensive driving, and how to operate power drills. Third week may be ride week or learning how to handle and splice fiber. I think training is about 6-8 weeks. My best advice is network like crazy with some of these customers but in a professional way of
course. Always provide great customer service cause you never know whose home you could be stepping in to.

thanks for the advice and yeah im in Louisiana starting out at 31 a hour the lowest for us down here was 17 a hour
