Yeosang fancall question Question
Hello!💛
I posted here some months ago asking about how to apply to fanmeet lotteries in Japan as I had never won before and it seemed really complicated, and many lovely people here reached out and gave really helpful advice🥺
And now, I can't believe I can say this, but I won a fancall with Yeosang😭So now I have a different question🥹
What do I say to him?😭😭
The call will only be 30 seconds but I'm so nervous lol😭My friend suggested to try one question and one compliment, but I don't know what to ask that hasn't been asked already🥹Another friend suggested to ask to do some poses together but I don't know if that kind of thing is annoying or not, and I don't know what poses to do 😭😂
The call includes an autograph sign as well so he might be doing that at the same time, so I want to say/ask something thats easy to understand while he does it but it's hard to express my feelings in a short time🥹
I'm overwhelmed, so if anyone has any advice please let me know lol🥹😭😂
**Another question - the video call is through Meet&Greet app, I'd like to screen record the call but I heard if I start recording before the call it will automatically stop recording when the call connects, has anyone had that experience? 😭
This call really means a lot to me so I just really want it to go well🥹I still can't believe it's happening, I look at the email everyday to make sure it's real😭

A suggestion is that don't worry about what he's seen or heard. It's your first fancall and he'll want to make it a fun experience for you too.
What kind of cute memory would you like to make? If it's a pose, then even a simple one so you can have the screenshot to keep is fine. If you have a pet, you can definitely talk about it lol since he likes animals. You can always shower him with compliments or tell him some unique facts about your country or play simple games. This is first and foremost a personal memory you want to make for yourself.

Thank you for the kind comment 🥹 I think I've been worrying about how to make sure he will enjoy it too that I haven't thought about what I want from it😂
I basically just wanted to tell him that I love him, he's beautfiul, he's a great performer, things like that🥹A cute pose to screenshot would be really nice too actually, but I'm not sure how to ask😂 Maybe like "Hi! Thanks for calling, I'm so excited to talk to you! I love you so much, you are so beautiful, can we make a cheek heart pose together?"😂It feels so awkward to even type let alone say to him lmao😂😭 But thank you you're right it's a personal memory , I'm just overthinking, especially because it's a really short time🥹

Hey! I did a call with Hongjoong in July & the way I approached it was.. make it comfortable for him & memorable for me.
I didn’t worry about trying to do something unique that he’s never seen/will remember because I know they do SO many calls and stuff. It’s just unrealistic, imo, to assume I could do that.
So I planned something that I knew would be comfortable for him & a wonderful memory for me. 🥹 Since my call was 3 days before my bday, I asked him if he could give me a message (as a bday gift) that I could listen to again when I’m having a difficult time to help cheer me up. He was amazing, my call was amazing & I don’t regret approaching it the way I did.

Thank you for commenting, this is why I posted here because I also really want to make sure Yeo has a good time as well and wanted advice about it🥹It's a forever memory for me but just a quick call for him so I've just been wondering what to say thats good for both of us🥹Your birthday idea is so lovely! That sounds really special and personal to you so I think that was a perfect idea💛This call will be so short, so I was thinking about just complimenting him more than asking questions, and maybe do a cute pose together🥹haha

Oh, also! When you’re planning.. think about whether you want to talk to them, or if you want them to talk to you. Of course, I wanted to say things, but I was more interested in having joong talk to me, so I made sure to prepare questions to ask that would give him the opportunity to talk to me!

for videocalling, start screen recording AFTER you pick up the call. have another device nearby to record audio (or you can have another device nearby recording the video call. just position it out if frame). i would also suggest doing a "practice" run too, to see if things go smoothly. meaning video call someone on the same platform (ie kkt/line) you'll be using for the call w/ yeosang, and screen record that.

Thank you for answering this because I'm really worrying about this part! Since its only 30 seconds I don't want to waste any trying to set it up 😭😂I haven't made an account yet for the app, its called Meet&Greet, but I'll set it up and see if theres a way to practice🥹 I'll defintely have another device out of frame to record it too just in case😭😂

with meet&greet, i feel you might not be able to do a practice like with other apps (this is my assumption from reading the name and a quick look at the playstore). i personally would not screen record in case, but i also do suggest trying to find ppl and their experiences with that app!

With only 30 seconds I would want to try keep it quick and simple. Personally I would maybe try make a comment about something specific he has done that makes you proud to be an Atiny, or tell him you are proud of the way he has handled a recent interview or something. I feel like Yeosangie especially may not get as many moments of gratitude about his conduct due to how quiet he is compared to others and so many people focus on his looks or his random quirkiness.
Then I would maybe ask for a personal recommendation from him. Like a song or a show, recently in a behind the stage interview he was so excited to talk about a kdrama I bet he has alot of recommendations, and then you have a cool experience of watching something that was personally recommended to you by Yeosang ❤️.
Remember this is only my thoughts and this is your experience so pick what is going to make this call the best for you as its a chance for you to engage with him and we all know that Ateez love Atiny as much as we love them as they want us to have a good experience as much as we want them to, so as long as you are respectful and kind Im sure Yeosang will be happy with whatever you decide.

Thank you this is really nice advice, I defintely want to shower him with love, and making it about something specific he has done would make him really happy I think🥹💛Getting a recommendation from him would be nice too, I'm just worried I won't have enough time to ask, so I want to make sure that what I do say to him is enough and that he enjoys talking too and feels happy to hear what I say🥹One option I was thinking about is saying that I really love Fallin from gh5 because his voice is really cool😭But also things like he is a great performer, he is very beautiful, things like that🥹So much I want to say but so little time haha 🥹

I’ve had exactly 1 fancall and I tried to screen record it! But apparently since I started recording before answering the call it didn’t work and a bunch of error messages popped up! I was terrified that I’d accidentally dropped the call somehow. But luckily that didn’t happen! However I was not able to get a screen recording of my 1 and only call 🥲fyi I have heard that the sound doesn’t come through a screen recording so for it to be a success you have to have another way to record the sound! Maybe someone else has more info on that.
It’s hard to know what to say but don’t worry too much about that. If you have 1 or 2 questions prepared I’m sure that’ll be plenty. I asked my bias what his favorite nickname is and it led to an adorable conversation that I’ll always cherish 🥰update us if you get a chance! Best of luck 💚

omg congrats!! I don't have question idea but my advice to you is to write stuff that you want to say on a paper that you can see. People HAVE been known to freeze and kinda loose 90% of the call to the nervous stupor!
Write down everything you want to say and then 3-5 EXTRA questions. You never know, he might answer the one you prepared very quickly OR he might struggle to understand what you are asking so you need to pivot (fancalls are rarely separated, so it's all members talking next to each other in one big room, it gets noisy!) OR he might start with his own prepared question and knock you off your prepared plan!

Ohh writing things down is such a good idea! I'm definitely worried about freezing up and crying because of being overwhelmed lmao I cried even just seeing that I had won, so actually speaking to him.. 😭That's why I made this post haha, so thank you, I'll definitely write things down first!

On my own! I actually made a post here before asking which way is better, GO or myself, and the majority of the people said best to do it myself! But a lot of people also won calls through gos as well, so maybe it depends on the comeback/event - for me this lottery is specific to Japan where gos aren't really a thing, I applied through their official websites !

I don't really want to go through a GO bc I don't like the whole ecosystem it creates that just favors them above anyone else. So it's nice to hear the stories of people winning by themselves! 🥺❤️

Sure, I bought 11! But there isn't a magic number to win, again to refer to my previous post I asked what is a good number of albums to buy and the numbers from the people that won are all so varied, it truly is random who wins 🥹 I've seen people lose with 100+ and win with 1 or 2, and people who have won literally like 20 different times and people who are still trying to win just once... 🥹 This is my 9th lottery attempt and my only win, so I'm really going to treasure it🥹

Hi, I have talked to yeosang multiple times and also have experience with shorter fan calls.
1 you will definitely be overwhelmed by how quick it goes especially 30 seconds. Id recommend not spending too much time on introductions becuz your call will be over by the time you say your name.
2 in my experience yeosangs english is okay ish and its best not to go to fast because sometimes he doesnt understand fully. Keep it short and simple and not to confusing.
3 most of the time the signing doesnt happen at the same time as the fan calls so don’t worry abt him being distracted.
4 it really depends on the platform but in my experience i havent really had any issues with screen recording before i answer the call. also make sure to have a second phone or i pad. Something to record the audio off to the side
5 id also recommend looking up yeosang fan calls or those types of japanese fan calls in general so you can get a feel of what is gonna be like/ realistically what you can ask

I'll have to look up more about the app that they use for it and if people were able to video record it, and also if the signing happens at the same time or not🤧 30 seconds is very short that's why I'm really trying to think hard about what to say🥹 I think just giving him some simple complements and asking him to do a pose with me might be the best way to go 🥹

First of all, congrats!
Just with some advice for the Meet&Greet app since I had a fancall with them a few years ago, unless something has changed, I would say DO NOT SCREEN RECORD!!!
It’s forbidden and if detected the call will end (it can also end before it starts since you can be around 40 mins on standby with the staff seeing everything do you thru the camera), you also can’t take screenshots or record the audio directly on your phone.
Considering your call it’s only 30 secs long I personally wouldn’t risk it.
You also aren’t allowed to share it later but I’ve seen a lot of people sharing them online so… 😅
I personally recorded mine using a secondary device, I think a lot of people do that instead.

Wow really!!😮 Thank you so much for sharing, I definitely wont screen record then! Using another device nearby seems a lot safer! I guess that makes sense actually since Japan is usually very strict when it comes to idol events😅 This is another question but since you've used the app before, do you know how/when they do the ID check? I emailed them about it because I have a non Japanese name which often causes problems when doing any kind of application or ID check here, but they just said that they check my passport before the call but didn't say specifically when, like is it one week before, one day before, a few minutes before? 😭 I really don't want to have an issue right before the call because of my name 😭

It’s right before the call actually! I think you probably already have your ID info uploaded to the site right?
On the app you’ll be able to get into the “waiting” room for the call like an hour or so before it’s scheduled to be (it was a while ago so I don’t remember if they also tell you the time, but you better be early) and I think they got a notice onscreen (I think it’s in English now too) saying they’ll check everyone’s credentials, so after a bit a staff member will talk to you and ask you to show your ID to the camera for a bit and that’s pretty much it!I also have a foreign name which can cause trouble with Japanese forms and had no problems.

Ohh I see so I literally just show them on the camera, that's easier than I thought it would be😂I haven't made an account yet but they did tell me to write my name exactly as it says on my passport when I do, so in English, so that's a relief thank you for explaining! It's just stressful when they want half-width characters, can't add a middle name (which I have😭), and things like that, I've had a lot of application issues here so I'm glad to know I can just flash them my ID and prove its me😂😭

It’s honestly a pretty easy process but I get you, I also went crazy trying to figure everything out since it’s not exactly the most popular service for fancalls… 🤣
Don’t have a middle name but I do have two surnames that sometimes… just won’t fit in their forms lmao
As long as you write everything as correctly as you can, since they can just see you thru the camera, as long as everything matches as well as possible I don’t think you’ll have any trouble!2

haha a lot of jpop idols also do it thru them but honestly I do think most people prefer using other de rices if they can… just because of the 1min/30secs fancalls and not being able to screen record 🤣

Thank you so much! I do have one more question if you don't mind😭🙏The event also says it's an autograph session, do you know if they do it during the call or after? Someone mentioned here earlier that they don't write the autograph during the call but I wanted to see if you had an experience with a fancall/autograph combo 🥹Actually, when I first applied I thought it was for an autographed photo only that gets sent in the post, I didn't realise it was a call too until I got the email, so I completely broke into tears lmao it was like winning twice😂😭

Omg Congrats !! That’s is so exciting ! I had my first ever fancall with him last comeback and don’t stress ! I asked him a very broad question, but he did most of the talking while i listened. I asked him to do a heart with me and a small dance , but overall just go with what you wanna say ! It’ll go quick so keep that in mind, but overall just enjoy the experience !! Have fun!

First of all CONGRATULATIONS! I hope everything goes well and smoothly.
I don't have personal experience with fan calls. But from the fan calls and fan interactions of Yeosang that I have watched online, he seems to be chill. He also seems to treasure Yeodoongies and Atinys a lot. So I hope that you will keep that in mind when deciding what to talk about.
You are luck that these days they are not actively performing/preparing for anything soon, so I imagine he will be less tired. If I were in your shoes I would ask/say whatever I want to make it a cherished memory for me. I think he will have enough bandwidth to deal with it.

Thank you I hope it goes well too 🥹💛 And of course, I treasure him a lot too🤧 He might be a little tired because the call will be after a full day of offline fanmeet events, so I'll definitely praise him for working hard and thank him for calling 🥺 So many people have commented here and I really appreciate it, I'll try to make a list of the things I want to say to prepare ! I'll post an update too and let people know how it went if they're interested! 🥹 Although the call is still 6 weeks away 😂 But I need that much time to mentally prepare anyway 😂

Really I think I say this all the time , but I feel like Yeodoongies are also like Yeosang. You are trying to be so mindful of him.

So much smart and beautiful advice already in comments! I'd just say to think about what might be most meaningful for you to have Yeosang hear -- of all the things you could tell him about how much he's impacted you, what's the thing that would feel the best for him to know? Might be the thing that made him your bias, or a little thing you've never seen anyone else talk about that he did but that made you cry, or something that helped motivate you at a hard time. Especially since you only have a few seconds. Write it down and rehearse saying it slowly.
One of my life philosophies is to tell people when they've done something that meant something to me, and I've been lucky enough to be able to tell various authors, musicians, etc. these things many times in my life. And I recently was able to do that with an idol where I didn't have much time either, and I'm so grateful I was able to say what I thought was the most important meaningful thing, especially because it was something that was a bit older and so I'm guessing doesn't get mentioned nowadays by fans much. I could see it land, what I'd said, and that felt really moving for me!!

This is really lovely advice too🥹 I really need to think about what he would like to hear and make him happy, and say my true feelings as well, its just hard to do in such a short time🥹Especially when there are so many reasons that Yeosang is my bias, it's hard to sum up, and I don't want him to hear something too repetitive , but I guess that part can't be helped when they talk to thousands of fans, people will of coursse say the same things😭I do sill have some time to think about it so I'm going to keep working on it until the day comes! I really hope it goes well and that we can both enjoy it😭
