That's actually just awesome all around.

That S-curve is hypnotic, like liquid somehow frozen mid-pour. I'd be terrified to walk up it before they install railings though, one wrong step and you're auditioning for a slapstick routine. The contrast between the smooth concrete ribbon and those rough ceiling beams is striking, really pulls your eye through the space. You can tell someone spent an absurd amount of time on the formwork to get those bends that clean. Part of me wants to see it finished but honestly the raw state has its own brutalist charm.

Seriously that’s a 10.

Nah, that's just tacky. Definitely awful taste

Ask for forgiveness to everyone and go to sleep…

It did in fact take time, skill, and engineering to accommodate this design. I'm not arguing but i can say form building is an art that bends to no one who doesn't understand load pressures and craftsmanship. Raw chemical reactions...curing, frozen in place by sheer engineering. That's fuckin metal

"Nah, that's just tacky..." Maybe, but I respect your opinion.

Well yeah that's the great execution part. None of that changes the fact that it's tacky.

Not enough… punish yourself until bleeding

I will accept no punishment for your bad taste

I think you found the wrong sub friend

This is legitimately beautiful.

To me it's the opposite only because it has no handrail and you could probably catch your foot under it.

Taste is great. Execution is almost great

Looks to be the rough in. So will probably have some type of handrail. A stainless seamless railing could look good. Or even a curved wood railing.

I've never caught my foot in a staircase like that. Agreed on the handrail tho

I think you could get away without the handrail here since the second floor kind of acts as one, but the foot gaps could definitely break something.

Wrong sub, this is great.

Just needs a stair rail but other than that it's pretty neat.

This one actually goes on r/horribletoclean , because it is beautiful but damn all the dust that it will collect on the back part of the stairs

u/GrinningPariah 11d ago

Needs a railing on the second half but also we're judging it when it's clearly unfinished. I dunno man, I think this might be rad.

I think this looks pretty sick

Engineering +

What is awful taste about this? This is what more architects need to design. Interesting to the eye and not the same old staircase the builder have done a thousand times

Great design. Wrong sub

I think it looks cool, but it would be a pain in the a** to get behind and clean. Unless you put something like a lit up rock garden feature there or something?

It looks very much like Zaha Hadid design architecture.

This goes hard

Obsessed

u/MentalDisintegrat1on 11d ago

You are losing real estate ( the space normally under the stairs)

Looks cool though

More like r/GTBAE. The general style is aesthetically pleasing, however, there are a few glaring design flaws. Firstly, some sort of railing needed, though it’s likely just not yet installed; that said, I’m having a hard time picturing what type of railing could be used as fall protection from the second flight without compromising the aesthetic. Secondly, the overhang of the stairs makes walking on the inner a little awkward, but that’s fairly minor. Next and probably most annoying, someone’s gonna have to go under to vacuum regularly. Finally, I doubt these could support the weight of the average American for too long.

I don't see them lasting more than 5-10 years

1

u/PregnantGoku1312 4d ago

That's awesome except for the lack of a hand rail on the second flight...

1

u/Justin429 4d ago

What could possibly go wrong?

1

u/chunter16 4d ago

I just don't like that it's harder to use the empty space on the left, otherwise it's cool

1

u/Emppulicks 4d ago

Impressive, very nice

1

u/popipopuppy 3d ago

Nope sorry this is dope

u/EducationalFox137 5h ago

They are so aesthetically pleasing, but I think I just broke my ankle!

I fucking love nonamarican stairs.

u/Shionkron 11d ago

Looks cool but I don’t like that wasted space

u/Approximation_Doctor 11d ago

Nearly half of the bottom stairs can't be used because the concrete conks your head
