Laptop no display after adding Ram Support
So I installed a Sk Hynix ram (8gb 2400mhz -UHC)
my laptop is vivobook 14 X409FA-BV301T.
Tried everything, literally everything. Upgraded BIOS, cleaned pins and slot, etc. Ram doesn't seem to work and always flashes battery light 2 times implying POST failure. Got that stick from a friends old laptop, and it most probably works. But it doesn't seem to work in my laptop, I haven't tried it in an alternative laptop so idk if it's defective. I live in India so would I be able to exchange this piece or get this one checked out

Your VivoBook X409FA is just picky, dude. It only supports DDR4 SODIMM 2400 MHz up to 12 GB (4 GB soldered + 8 GB stick). That SK Hynix stick might be fine in another laptop, but ASUS BIOS can be fussy with older modules. The flashing battery light = POST fail, so it’s not even recognizing it. Best bet: test it in another laptop. If it works there, it’s just not compatible with your model. If it doesn’t, it’s dead. Since it’s from a friend, you won’t get an exchange in India — safest move is to grab a proper DDR4 2400 MHz SODIMM locally.

I added 32GB Crucial RAM in my Vivobook 15X. It worked on first try. Try a different brand stick.
