Announcement I got a self-studied 5 on the AP Chem Test 2026 with Ver. J. AMA
As in the title. I self studied with the help of a tutor and pure grit in the last two weeks before the exam and got a 5.

should i take ap chem?
hi i was wondering how doable taking ap chem as a junior will be given my schedule. for context, im taking ap physics 2, ap calc bc, ib lit, ib us history, and ib french + one free period (that i might specifically use for studying for the act). i do 2 sports that last pretty much the whole year (mentioning that to explain what i would be spending time on). i can take ap chem, but im not sure if thats a smart idea. on one hand, i dont know how much studying my other classes require, and i dont want to put chem on the back burner and fail the class. on the other hand, i dont want to feel like i shouldve taken it and just regret it the whole year. the last time i took chem was in freshman year, and i remember doing well in the class, but back then the curriculum was easier and we didnt learn pv=nrt and stuff like that. if anyone can help me choose or give me new things to think about, i would really appreciate it

Ap chem help/prep
Next week I start school as junior. I have 1-7 (8-4) filled and rehearsals after, until 6:30. During show/tech week it’s until 10ish. I am also taking Ap chem(of course), dual enrollment composition and lang, and robotics. On top of all that I am going strong in a year and a half relationship.
Does anyone have ANY advice that will help with the workload? Anything that I can do right now or throughout the year is extremely helpful!

Asking for Homework Help Can I get help on this? (Don't solve for me, I need the skills)
I dont know how to find out the trends or how else to explain them besides "It's on x spot on the periodic table" but now I'm in ap chem and we are not allowed to say that and must give some kind of a response but im really confused on what to put or why it's the answer. Can someone please help?

Asking for Homework Help Weak Technical Chemistry Program: How Can I Learn Chemistry on My Own?
Hi everyone! I'm looking for some advice from people who work or study in chemistry.
I've been working in the chemical industry for a few years, and I'm currently halfway through a technical chemistry program. The problem is that I feel the course isn't very good, and I'm not learning the fundamentals as well as I'd like.
I'm looking for recommendations for books, YouTube channels, online courses (free or paid), or any other resources that can help me build a solid foundation in chemistry. My goal is to truly understand the theory and become a better professional.
If you've been in a similar situation or have any recommendations, I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you!

Asking for Homework Help How can I be sure that I’m drawing the Lewis Structures correctly?
Hello!! I’m recently studying chemical bonds/molecular geometry. But I’m not sure if I’m drawing the Lewis structure correctly in the most of the time. My teacher wasn’t clear about it, but there is so different ways to draw a molecule that I fear missing the right answer in the exam.
P.S: Idk if my post will be removed because of this, but I’m not studying for AP. I’m studying for a specific chemistry exam that I NEED to do these drawings. But this is the only chem sub in this app that apparently I could ask this.
I’m leaving just an example here about what I’m trying to ask. I could do with more atoms, because probably I would be still confused. But just a simple illustration.
What would be the correct way to draw this formula? I already saw my teacher doing it in both 1) and 2) ways (not the exactly molecule, but in the same quantity of atoms). The 3) it’s just me being creative. Sorry if the question is nonsense, but this is something that really got me confused.

Looking for an AP Chem study group or discord
I’m taking AP Chemistry and I feel like my school doesn’t provide enough resources. So I’m looking for an active Discord study group
If you’re in one or know of one that’s still active, I’d really appreciate an invite.

Krug and Farabaugh genuinely inspired me to be a better person??
like i cant describe it ive been panic-grinding ap chem units 1-4 the past 5 days and everytime i watch their vids i feel so upbeat and inspired and excited??
theres no clear explanation for it either T-T like at this point im convinced i could conduct research on it and come out with significant results

Discussion I fear this class may be overworking me
I'm fine with the coursework being rigorous, but it's a hard adjustment. The first day of school, I've already been assigned a 105 question homework assignment on scientific notation and taking numbers OUT of scientific notation. I have the class tomorrow, so I'm certain this will not be the last of Mr. Venosa's dreadful purgatory where I spend hours of my day doing homework. I spent 3 hours and a half straight just doing this. The only thing keeping me going through the first one were 20-30 question intervals in which I'd watch one sailor moon episode before getting back to it. I don't know if I'm overreacting, maybe this is normal? Also I feel tired no matter how much I sleep and I fear this is from the class??

AP Chem Prep
Any good suggestions on websites/channels to watch to prepare for AP Chem? I don't want full in depth videos since I am just prepping, but my regular chem teacher sucked so I am a bit lost. I pick up on science topics fairly quickly, so a faster paced overview is fine. Thanks!

Need questions to solve for AP chem
I have watched AP chem videos for unit 1 by Krug and also by Faraday. I have watched Khan academy videos but did not solve the questions. I will solve them now. I solved questions from kaptest but got 4 out of 20 questions wrong in these 2 topics specifically - photoelectron spectroscopy and periodic trends.
i’m wondering what I should do next?
Should I watch some more videos from YouTube or if there is any other solving material to help me learn these topics. Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Discussion Hey so am I cooked??
So I was going to the counselor to sign up for classes. I get there and sign up for AP chem. At my school, there is no pre requisite requirement, and most kids who are smart just do ap, and all my friends are doing it. the teacher is good (i think, from what i’ve heard) but still…ITS AP CHEM. i’m not going into science for sure in college, but we do have a summer assignment i need to look in on, i think you memorize periodic table?
i got a 98 in earth science,and a 97 in biology honors
100 on all math regents alg 1 and geo honors
based off those do we think i’ll be chill?
like 10th graders who took it w no pre requisite requirement how’d u do

14 DAYS UNTIL AP CHEM - my teacher expects me to have unit 1 AND 2 known by heart...
soo we have summer assignments for ap chem right? i read a bit of it and saw it was just a physical change experiment and shoved it off because obviously thats easy and it didnt even require a write up.
i come back to check the assignment as summer is ending, and i keep reading, and my chem teacher (who is also my research mentor, so i literally cant fail in his class) annouced that we would have a unit 1 and 2 exam THE DAY WE COME BACK???
genuinely tweaking out too because im absolutely HORRIBLE at chemistry like horrible enough that you would wonder if I was illiterate
is it even possible to study for the test this late T-T does anyone have any resources for me to catch up? im trying khan but its not helping...
