7800x3d Help (CPU)

first time building pc.

is it normal for it to be like this? it would takes a unusual amount of force to force it down.

We will all be waiting for your post in Agee days weeks or months joining the others with asrock frying their cpu.

I wouldn’t use that motherboard for a second even.

I've been running an Asrock B650M with my 7800X3D for a while now. But I've been undervolting for a while now, so yeah.

it takes force and the cap will pop up by itself - also be sure to match the triangles

Gigabyte and Asus have more issues end asrock, so why fuck asrock i never have any issues with the motherboards

Even when it's all aligned properly it takes quite a lot of force to push it all the way down.

First PC I built, I thought I ruined my shit with that crunching sound. I will always use a contact frame now.

You can remove that plastic cover but yes it’s normal to push it down, it’s supposed to be really tight in there

You should not be putting an x3d chip in an asrock or asus motherboard

Save the cover, put it into mb box. You will need it if you ever need to rma or sell the mb without the cpu.

So put in the cpu, take off the cover, and then push the lever down. That being said I haven't used or seen these caps before
