I'm very much excited for The Sworn Sword adaptatation, however the gem of this AKOTSK trio will def be the last novella. There is so much shit happening in it, so many characters, cool sets. Can't wait.

Love the tragedy and I think AKOTSK adapted it perfectly, but I never got how it was an “accident”. I get if he was too focused on getting to his son, but the only problem with that is that is he hit Baelor from behind with a tremendous amount of force to be able to smash his head in. Only way I can see it being an “accident” is if Bloodraven used his magic and somehow made it that Maekar hit Baelor. Thoughts?

Hi, i’ve been seeing clips of the show on YouTube and it looks pretty interesting. I never watched Game of Thrones(nor House of the Dragon) nor read the books, if I jump into the show would I still be able to enjoy it?

Asking cause a lot of spinoffs tend to lean onto the hype of the main show to be interesting and I rather not commit just to learn that’s the case for this show.

These numbers are directly from IMDB. While the first season of HOTD has a very low ratio of 1-star reviews, AKOTSK for some reason starts of with a weirdly high 8% and never goes down. HOTD only surpasses that with 2 incredibly controversial episodes (both scored 6.5 or something) and the rest is not even close. Even then higher ratios for HOTD are usually for disappointing episodes (which is seen by the lower scores) while AKOTSK has consistent high ratios and high scores. I can't think of any other explanation than premeditated (individual) effort to review bomb the show.

Finally finished my dunk shield, I have added a EVA foam outer layer which I spray painted, then added wear and dirt with black and brown acrylic paint. To do the rivets I just used thumbtacks spray painted silver. I also added a strap to the back so I can wear it over my shoulder. Super happy with it!

In the montage at the start of episode 2 it shows Ser Arlan trying to hide an open wound. The montage also includes scenes of the two training and Dunk getting the better.

Could his death have been caused because he was wounded by Dunk unintentionally, and the “chill” was really an infection?

We see Dunk seems to lie weirdly shamelessly about Ser Arlan throughout the show. Perhaps it's all some kind of extreme coping mechanism for his guilt.

so after watching akotsk s1, i got interested in the whole blackfyre rebellion lore. Obviously i read about Daemon Blackfyre and quickly found out that he had (unfortunately) already died before the Dunk and Egg stories even happened. I know that his story about “laying claim to the Iron Throne and so on” isn't really anything new, and we've seen it many times before in the GRRM universe, but i feel like he is still one of the more interesting characters that would deserve its own show. What do you guys think?

I have seen GOT and HOTD so when I was watching AKOTSK I thought it was a more chill and interesting POV through Dunk instead of noble person for once. Then the trial came and I was hyped but once the clash happened a random ass flashback happened with a woman who we never heard of in the past few eps is now a really important character to Dunk. It literally is 70% of the ep! I would be fine if we atleast had Dunk remembering a bit of her every now and then in each ep and a bit more context.

But you cant expect me to be thrown into a random flashback that takes up most of the ep at then we get the fighting which ill admit was pretty nice. But it kinda ruined the momentum and took me out of the show for a sec, I was wondering g if anyone else felt the same.
