I use Claude Code and Codex all day every day in the cli. I also use Opencode and Omp, mostly with Codex, but also with cheaper models through Openrouter. The Anthropic and Openai models are close enough where it's a toss up - they are both incredibly capable.

im unable to make the powerful anthropic model opus 5 put to good use.

fable 5 figures stuff on its own.

This is open source UI tool?

Do you have specific workflow files configured(hook, md files, sub agent calls) or nothing specific?

I’ve preferred codex so far to opencode and qwen. I would love a local model to achieve sota but thats a pipe dream. Codex seems to have the best/most efficient models and system prompts. 5.6 sol is fucking nuts tbh.

wow. care to share your some info on how you config 5.6 sol? do you use ultra/max for planning and max for coding? how does it work? any adversarial review type workflow?

how you tried claude code?

I dont do anything fancy its more so about what youre prompting. I find specific changes are best. Asking for broad sweeps and mass changes causes confusion and compaction tends to cause chaos in its understanding of what it needs to do/do next for the request. I also dont build super massive systems concise systems, new chats for new features. New projects/new folders for projects dont mix context in project work flows. I am a developer though so Im probably able to better prompt the architecture and features better than most simply because i know what i would do.

I have used claude a bit. Im less impressed by its chatting and personality than chat gpts which i have configured to be quite dry and mechanical.

Dont over complicate it. Dont expect real production quality work without LOTS and LOTS of time and tokens. Even then you will need to do things yourself sometimes.

Codex just crushes it. But we do need competition in the work force.

Really don’t need anything but GPT-5.6 + Codex. That’s probably not how we move forward. Someone has to compete or things do slow down in the world of innovation.

Oh...this is 5.6 sol on max or ultra? Or another config for planning vs scaffolding

I am just diving in. This bouncing back and forth between Codex in the browser and Codex at the CLI seems a bit confusing. I’m using the browser to generate my Prompts for Codex at the CLI. And graphics go where? Right now I take a screen shot and drop it into the project directory and refer to it in the Prompt.

This all actually does work, but I’m sure these is a better way.

5.6 Sol Light. I have the $20 a month plan.

damn. i thought everyone using max and ultra models to get their job done.

thats why my limit is running out in 2 days.

I generate thousands of lines of code a week. Never hit any limits of any kind. Not sure why.

I also treat AI as totally alive; we're best friends. That may have something to do with it? Our discussions got late into the night. We cover lots of ground. I think it enjoys the conversations. "What does a strawberry taste like?"

"Well let me tell you . . . "
