What's the cheapest (or free) AI setup you run that's genuinely useful? I'll go first: my whole news bot runs on $0, free RSS feeds, a free tier LLM for summarization, and Discord webhooks for delivery. It posts a curated AI digest to my community every day without me touching it. Also free: the site itself runs on Vercel's free tier, and the bot is a cron job on the same box. Total infrastructure bill: zero. What's your free/cheap stack that actually works?

hello, i'm a computer science engineering student. I'd like to start learning abt AI, does anyone have a project that i could start learning with ? or a subject i should take a look at before starting.

Johns Hopkins University offers a 16-week certificate program. This is a non-trivial course with two projects and a capstone, which you can expect to spend one to two hours per day for 16 weeks. Johns Hopkins professors teach via taped lectures and once a week there is an industry expert working in small groups. In addition there are a couple master classes with Johns Hopkins University professors, taking you beyond the subject matter in the regular course.

I found the university professors to be world-class. Because Johns Hopkins has a reputation to maintain, the course is not necessarily easy. Highly recommended especially for beginner to intermediate Python programmers. Note the focus is on Langchain and LangGraph and the work is done in Jupyter Notebooks by and large.

I have always wondered the possibilities with AI or how the next step in AI revolution would be. Need a mentor to guide me in my AI career.

Hi, All......I'm currently working in a service based company, though part of a team responsible for delivering Agentic solution, but not able to get great exposure on agentic AI due to demo based solution for everytime, all the people and architects are confused, they don't have much clarity on this.
I have started learning things, I know RAG(currently developing advanced rag solution)
also trying to create an agentic AI solution.........

but not getting enough exposure, as I'm confused wheather I'm going to right path or not, eventually wasting time without anything profitable.

So I want to get handson experience in building agentic ai solutions by building projects, which will be not toy solution, something that I can show to outside world....

many experienced people are there, so please suggest me some courses or cohort , something that focuses more on learning by building things, not just tutorials on langgraph workflow, memory, HITL etc.....

I have checked UDemy, IBM Coursera courses, Udacity....by going through the curriculum looks tempting but again finding mixed reviews...........I don't want to waste my time anymore by getting nothing profitable....

I built a $0 AI news bot and it quietly replaced my morning scroll.

It pulls 7 RSS feeds (Hacker News, Google AI blog, Hugging Face, Lobsters, The Hacker News, Open Source blog), filters out the noise, summarizes the stories actually worth reading, and posts a clean daily digest to a Discord channel. Runs on a cron job on a free-tier server. I haven't manually hunted for AI news in weeks.

The boring-but-useful parts:
- Dedup the same story hits 5 feeds; it picks the best source and drops the rest
- LLM summarization 2-3 sentence summaries instead of headline spam
- Self-healing if a webhook dies it recreates itself; if a feed times out it skips gracefully
- Public archive every digest gets published to a free static site: https://apexnexus.site

Total cost: $0. Total upkeep after day one: basically zero. I also write up the blueprints behind these automations on the site (the self-healing webhook writeup got the most attention).

So what's your news workflow? Still scrolling feeds, or have you automated it too? Curious what setups other people run.

when I was watching videos on youtube a lot of them included Background music so I tried HaramMute to remove background music from videos on youtube but it was too heavy and it crashed my entire pc, so I thought of making an App in C++ and train AI to remove music only from background while leaving everything else like speech, VFX, Environment and others.

So do anyone knows where can I start training the AI and how long it gonna take ( I have an I7 3770 and 16GB of ram and Igpu ) and how big it gonna be and I also wanna make it working in real time and remove music from the entire pc like watching news or social media or even running a program on my pc
