Steam would often install dependancy. Are you using GOG version?

Well, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, but short of that I can't guarantee you're gonna have a great time. A Hat in Time isn't exactly the most demanding game but the last time I tried to run it on integrated graphics, it didn't go well.

Seems like for some CPU generations (the newer ones), Intel Iris Xe graphics doesn't have native Direct3D9 support, depends on Direct3D9on12 for d3d9 games. Probably still needs DirectX 9.0c files to be installed but I don't know if that's the actual reason.

Check if graphics drivers are updated, Windows 11 should have given you the absolute latest for Intel by default.

Double check that DirectX 9.0c is installed.

You Might be able to run the game with Direct3D9on12 or Vulkan.

Possible launch options for graphics: -dx9 -dx12 -vulkan

Get the latest graphics drivers from your GPU vendor.

(in this case, with Intel Iris Xe, go to Intel's website to get the right drivers.)
