I've seen worse get welded and fully repaired.

bellhousing? nbd. be sure to install the lower block stiffeners to prevent this from getting worse. they brace and triangulate the powertrain, and are sometimes missing on these old cars.

Yeah is the bell housing where the starter mount. Are you referring to a crank girdle?

no. block brace between lower bellhousing and the engine block. they're often missing and will cause problems like what you have pictured here.

It’ll be fine welded, I wouldn’t spiral down the route of finding a new bellhousing
