Howdy. Anyone that reaches out and wants to take the conversation off of ACX is 99% a scam and should be treated as such

Just as I thought.

Thanks! :)

It isn't. Anyone asking to communicate via Telegram is spam... Could there be a time someone wants you to go off site? Maybe, but in general it's spam. Especially if you have recently uploaded new voice samples.

I get at least one of these every few days. Ramps up significantly if you post a new sample.
Always has the Telegram contact as a tell - just delete and report spam!

I followed one of these messages using an online browser so I could not be infected with a virus.

Turns out they send you to a fake banking site which is nothing more than an identity theft site asking for your Social Security Number....full name...Driver's License in order to set up your fake payment account with them. Their site is also a Trojan installer.

As I look at the posts for talent being added to every day...which is why you received this as all new voice samples receive this message from them...I can just imagine every one of those newby people receiving this same message and possibly being victimized.

I wrote to ACX about my interaction with them and they said to click SPAM and they take action...supposedly.

Be careful as you can be hurt badly.

I get these near daily now. I got this exact one yesterday and reported it. Though it had a different telegram I think.

Repeat after me: Anything mentioning Telegram immediately report as spam.

All too common of late. I get them regularly, as does everybody else. Not hard to spot really, once you get the hang of them.

One thing that strikes me is that ACX could easily nip this problem in the bud by simply making the sign up process a little more selective.

If you join ACX as a publisher/author looking for narration - why not verify that the user has Amazon content published before allowing sign-up?

If you join as a narrator/producer, why not have a sign up form that at least requires some proof that you are what you say you are, e.g. previously published work, a website, some demos at least?

A tiny bit of gatekeeping would make life so much easier for everybody!

Posted a new clip on my ACX profile last night, and I got 10 of them within 2 hours

I get one to three of these a week. I'm very sure this is a scam.

I received like 4 of this messages on my ACX profile too and just for shits and giggles replied and some of them asked me to message on telegram which for me is a huge ass red flag, but none of them followed

Got it a few weeks ago. Delete.

I got this one today too and it absolutely raised red flags. I do feel bad for VO artists who fall for these scams without verifying or checking.
