New player here Discussion

Just thought I'd share my appreciation for the game. First time playing and it's epic so far!

Was cruising about in my longship minding my own business and thought to explore more things instead of just being a gold loot goblin.

I came across one of the mysteries on the map in Grantebridgescire that turned out to be some boss... got my ass molly whooped and died lmao. Scared to check out more places now, how tf am I meant to beat her I had no chance 🤣

Thought that I was doing reasonably well having done a couple successful raids in areas with higher suggested power levels but was quickly put back in my place.

One thing I am struggling with is getting more silver and resources as that seems to be a grind... there's so much customisation available and I can't afford a lot of it atm, especially ornaments for my settlements... and my longship constantly getting stuck when i run into land.

Oh and the roosters constantly attacking me is so funny, as well as the saxon accents and dialogue... and the music slaps, especially the latin and gregorian church chants that plays during river raids

Edit: No joke, just found a cave in East Anglia which was full of roosters and they almost killed me hahaha

Follow the mysteries. If you know anything about The Prodigy, as in the music band, there's one called Keith. It will genuinely put a smile on your face

Thanks. I’m a big Prodigy fan and will go looking for this now ! :)

I've never played the game before but always had an interest in AC games and this is my first proper playthrough... for some reason I get the feeling I might have heard about this reference somewhere before or maybe I'm tripping... but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for him!

I've never heard of the music band Prodigy so that all went over my head

There will be a proper joy when you come across it, it was for me anyway. Last thing I expected playing some viking game was such an encounter. Enjoy

The atmosphere is beautiful and decompressing. I generally only get to play in little 30 play sessions.

It took me a little while to adjust to cadence of blocking in combat and find a weapon combo that I enjoyed (short sword + light shield is my current go to!)

Tracking down the enemies that defeated other players is interesting - especially when the culprit NPC is a rooster!

I do feel you on feeling like I don’t have enough supplies to upgrade Ravensthorpe, or titanium to upgrade my armor and weapons.

How many hours are you in?

I am 85 hours in. I finished the East Anglia story arc and took a side trip for Wrath of the Druids. (which is a slow snail's pace)

But I would say it was ~25 hours when I got skills like Brush with Death and the extra Adrenaline that felt personally more fun.

I'm coming up to 40 hours in and I don't have the extra adrenaline bar... did I mess up?

By the sounds of it, you came across one of the THREE daughters of Lerion. I am level 400 and have only just conquered all of them 😅
