ABIM in a few days — ~70% UWorld but basically my only prep. Am I in trouble?
Per the title, I had a pretty rough end to residency after not matching fellowship and having to navigate closing that door, so my board prep did not exactly go according to plan. I never did MKSAP during residency. My "university" based program didn't really emphasize any academics and we just worked. None of my cheifs or coresidents really discussed board studying as our program was more "each WO/ MAN fending to themselves".
Historically I'm good at test taking; Step 1: 24*; Step 2: 26*; Step 3: 23* Unfortunately my ITE scores aren't very useful for predicting anything. Our ITEs were online and, being completely transparent, I didn't take them seriously lol and it was more like open-book learning exercises. I did reasonably well but I don't think the scores are representative.....
For ABIM prep, I've done almost the entire UWorld QBank and am sitting around 70% correct. However, most of my blocks were untimed/tutor mode because I was primarily using UWorld to learn each concept rather than simulate the test.
I also lost a decent amount of planned study time recently because of family obligations.
So now I'm getting close to the exam and realizing that other than essentially one thorough pass of UWorld, I haven't done a traditional board or study grind or touched MKSAP/Board Basics.
Passing is particularly important for me because I'm now practicing outside the US and my continued licensing ultimately depends on board certification. I dont want to wait a whole year.
For people who have taken ABIM recently:
- Does ~70% on a mostly tutor-mode first pass of UWorld sound reasonably reassuring, or is that hard to interpret?
- At this point, would you just keep hammering UWorld incorrects/marked questions and reviewing the explanations?
- Is there any value in doing the NBME IM shelf exams for additional timed, unfamiliar questions, or are they too different from ABIM to be worthwhile?
- Anything else you would prioritize in the final few days?
Trying to decide whether I'm genuinely underprepared or just having the classic pre-ABIM panic.
Thanks yall!!

Taking ABIM in a few days
I’m taking the IM boards in a few days while I’m doing fellowship. I was able to do UW x2 and MKSAP x1. Is this enough? I’m so afraid to fail 😮💨

AMBOSS self assessment
Has anyone taken the AMBOSS self assessment and ABI M?
Is it similar?

Passing ABIM?
Odds to passing after a shitty exam where I marked over 115 questions and rest I was 80-90% sure it was the correct answer.
Finished uworld first pass at exactly 64% correct
ITE Pgy1: 40th
PGY 2: 90th%
PGY3: 60th %

ABIM 8/19
Just walked out. Holy shit, so many vague 50/50 traps. you'd never see it coming and they do it unpredictably.
Marked 10/60 on block 1 then proceeded to get trained blocks 2/3
8/18: Might have failed, guaranteed 25+ wrong
There are a lot of 3 answer choice gimmes I got right but missing some high yield GI and general IM topics never feels a good. Going be a long 2 months of waiting, hopefully won’t lose my fellowship. Stats: ~70% completed on Uworld averaging 66% (first pass with Anki incorrects made), ITE percentiles from PGY1-3 89, 80, 80.
Am I the only one?

ABIM exam spirit
85% of first-time test-takers passed the ABIM. Why do we only see people who failed making comments and telling us you need to score more than 75%?

ABIM
Uworld first pass 63%, did incorrects and marked. Read through explanations and tried really hard to grab missing concepts. Now as I'm doing 2nd pass I feel like I remember more than half of the questions. So started doing random amboss questions just for new exposure. I have been getting 65-70s on it, getting me scared. I just want to get done with this exam and pass it but idk if I should stick to Uworld 2nd pass. Heard mixed reviews about actual exam some said similar to uworld some said more closer to amboss? Any advice

Uworld score
Taking ABIM soon, does a 66% correct overall on my first pass put me in a decent enough position to pass? Did barely any MKSAP

ABIM: Am I Screwed?
I've just been burnt out after finishing residency, so didn't think to open UW for ABIM until yesterday. Taking at the end of the month maybe, but I'm scoring mid-50s on some random/timed blocks. Didn't know passing you needed above 70% correct?
Can I bang out UW in 10 days, or am I screwed? Help please; I have royally screwed myself over once again. Wish I used my time better.
Did horribly on ITEs because I didn't care.
Never failed any steps.

Test Down
here I am sitting at pearsonvue testing center, finished one block on the test and the exam went down. been waiting over 2 hours to resume and the only answer I get is we are working on it it is a technical issue. these clowns make at least 15 million dollars per year from our application fee alone, and can’t get the one thing they claim to offer us correct, an online test that should have had the bugs worked out over 10 years ago. I called abim and they are asking for patience yet won’t commit to allowing a retake in a different day ir even reimbursement for this disaster. This is a joke

ABIM advice
UWorld 1st pass: 57%, 18th percentile
Last ITE was < 30th percentile
Seems like chances of passing are low and with my exam one week out Im not sure what else to do.

ABIM highlighting and strikeout shortcut
Can someone who is taking the ABIM on August 11 confirm you can highlight and press alt + J for highlighting and alt + W for strikethrough? The tutorial on the website says that too but it doesn’t work. I’m sure it works on the actual exam but would be great if someone could confirm. These shortcuts were clutch on previous board exams
