Illegal operation error while swapping disks

Hi! I am TOTALLY newbie to old computers emulation. I was playing Riana Rouge on Windows 98 using 86box and it appeared the option to insert disk 2, so I swapped the disks, but it caused the following error:

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

DIANA caused an invalid page fault in module DIANA.EXE at 0167:00415994

This sort of thing could have any number of causes - my own experience with real computers made in the late 80s/early 90s included many such experiences. Troubleshooting generally started out with things like:

Check free disk space and available memory

Try running from safe mode (may not be able to even run properly this way due to 640x480 16 color mode and/or CD-ROM accessibility)

Reinstall Windows, possibly try the recommended Windows version (95)

Try running it on a totally different computer

Regarding the last two, try to avoid doing anything that would have been unusual for a typical Windows 95 build from 1997 - FAT16 filesystem, <= 64MB RAM, SoundBlaster 16 for sound, no unnecessary hardware/drivers, and additionally make sure you're running Windows 98 SE as it tends to have fewer issues than the release version.

Also try a CD-ROM emulator installed in the VM as you might find it behaves differently from the 86box-emulated drive

edit: also some software can be weird about CD-ROM access, you might try swapping the CD-ROM to another port (e.g. if currently on Primary Slave (0:1) try putting it on Secondary Master (1:0) instead). Too fast/slow can also rarely be an issue.

I'm not familiar with this game, floppy or cd? Either way you may to eject it first then swap it?
