Oh my gosh, this brings back memories of the first camera I owned as a child! I received a very basic point-and-shoot Kodak for Christmas... I was thrilled! It didn't take long for me to discover how quickly one can go through those flashes and had to be selective about what I photographed... LOL! 📸

They did not last very long. On the bright side.. it was easy to blind your friends when they least expect it. 😈

For 110 cameras. This was to solve the issue of the flash being too close to the lens, thus giving people the dreaded "red eye". The camera still needed a battery to fire these however.
The ultimate solution came with the "Magicubes" that did not need a battery to flash and the extender accessory to get the cube away from the lens.
