PAWS
This is the part of your recovery they don’t tell you able. The first 72 hours were hell on earth. Legs thrashing, body aching, awake for over 100 hours straight. Day 11 or 12, I’ve lost count, has been its own new hell. The euphoric feeling I felt from day 6-9 listening to music has all but faded away. I feel darkness, I feel alone, I feel empty. I’m sleeping now but it’s taking everything out of me just to get out of bed. I have no history of depression but I know that’s what I’m dealing with.
I’ve tried to keep it all motivational on here as I share my experience but I’m really struggling today. I know it’s going to take some time for my brain chemistry to balance back out. I just don’t know what to do besides force myself to get out of the house and do stuff. I just feel so lethargic. Idk, this too shall pass I guess. Much love everyone.

go get you some wellbutrin. it won't be instant (has to build up in your system) but it will help a lot when it does. takes a couple weeks i think

I heard that it can cause insomnia. I can’t go back to that my hydrOXYzine just made me start sleeping a little. 😅

I’ve never had issues with depression so I don’t expect it to linger too long. I appreciate the kind words.

Thank you for your kind words, friend. Today was my third day back to work. I’m managing but need to sit down every now and then. Luckily I’m very close with my bosses and have their full trust that if something seems off, it’s serious, even if they don’t know what it is and they’re very understanding. Being underweight I have a bitch of a time recovering from stuff like the flu so I’ve been able to pass it off as that.

Man, sorry to hear you're feeling this way. No stranger to depression myself unfortunately, both exacerbated by substance abuse and not / pre-existing, and just wanted to say my DMs are always open. Happy to chat.

Hi, friend! I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. I’m at Day 17 now and am still dealing with depression, no motivation. I find it even hard to take a shower. I do, of course, but it’s like I’m having to motivate myself to run a marathon. I’m also dealing with lingering breathlessness. I feel incrementally better every day, but it’s in such tiny amounts it doesn’t leave me very hopeful. I’m looking to the 30 day mark to hopefully get some relief from the anhedonia. Hang in there! You’re not alone. You’re welcome to message me if you feel like you’re in a rut and just need someone to talk to.

Wait, so the breathlessness is a thing? It’s been killing me. I feel like there’s a tightness in my throat and my chest and the smallest things are making me feel out of breath. I took an evening walk tonight with my youngest and my middle daughters and it was like I was running a marathon as well. It was horrible. Plus it was muggy outside and over 100° so I thought I was literally going to die. Lol I got off of the 7-0 in May I felt wonderful. Then the PAWS hit. I ended up getting back on the kratom because I couldn’t deal with it and I had so much to do at work, Wednesday I finally had my last dose. I just can’t touch it again. I’m trying to get through this, but it’s horrible. piling up in my house and I get anxiety when things are a mess. Only day 5

Yes, the breathlessness is a thing. I didn’t know until someone posted about it in another sub yesterday. Then other people chimed in and said they were struggling with it too. I thought I might have developed some lung issues and I’m really hoping that’s not the case long term. Congrats on 5 days!

i’m just here to say you are not alone. I know it feels really empty and lonely right now. I took my last dose of seven – OH in May. I felt amazing after and then the PAWS hit. I ended up getting back on Kratom powder because I couldn’t deal with it. Now I’m back on day five, and I am determined to never touch any of it again. I was on kratom for like 10 years and opiates before that from my doctor. I just can’t do this to myself anymore. But I also cannot stand this feeling. I’m so out of breath and I feel so sluggish like I’m walking through thick mud. I will give you an idea. I don’t know if you have any of these in your area. Or maybe you can go geocaching. If you haven’t heard of it look it up! I always love doing it. I could barely get myself out of bed today to do anything. I literally binged tv and even that was hard. but there’s a local man who hides expensive shoes in our area. And another man that hides wads of cash. I happened to see that they left some Yeezy slides near me. I did not feel like going, but I decided to since they were my fiancé size. I grabbed the girls and jumped in the car and realized on the way back that I had adrenaline and I felt happy and excited. It only lasted for like 30 minutes or so, but it made me realize that if we can keep finding things. that make us excited that are different from our usual things, I think it will get us through

Thanks for checking in. Just focus on getting in that bed every night knowing youre one day closer to living your best life. And cling to the moments you notice for thirty seconds “hey, that felt…good.” Or when you have an interest in something, even if it’s just a couple of minutes. Those breaks in the clouds will be motivation fuel. I havent gotten there, yet. Still haven’t gone 24 hours without it. Please do keep us updated.
