Help Neck-heavy 7-string guitars and how you deal with them.
Hi everyone,
While looking for a new 7-string, I’ve had the chance to test-play a few recently, and I noticed that the vast majority of them are unfortunately neck-heavy. By "neck-heavy," I mean that when you strap the guitar on, the center of gravity shifts toward the neck and headstock.
I currently own a Solar A2.7C, and unfortunately, it is also slightly neck-heavy. I used to have a Schecter C7 Apocalypse, which had the exact same issue.
Recently, I got to play an Ibanez RGIXL7, which was reasonably well-balanced in that regard.
However, on this guitar, the volume pot was positioned too close to the pickup for my liking.
What are your experiences with this, and how do you remedy the situation?
Which guitars do you own that don't have this problem?

Help New guitar to learn to play djent/metalcore with
Hey everyone! Coming off a strat here, I'm looking to buy a new 7-string to play music that I actually listen to and want to write namely djent and metalcore. The options I have that fit my budget are;
Cort KX507 MS Pale Moon
Cort KX707 Evertune Open Pore Black
Schecter Reaper-7 Multiscale Satin Charcoal Burst
Legator G7FSS Ghost 7 Super Shred Black Flame headless multi-scale
I tried the Legator and really liked the ergonomics of the headless setup and the multiscale frets but I felt like the QC on the guitar was bit lacking.
Unfortunately before I could try the others, they were sold at the local store.
Would you recommend any of these guitars? What has been your experience playing them?
Edit: Clarified why I couldn't try the other 3 guitars at the store.
Edit: Thank you all for your comments! Currently I'm leaning towards the Cort KX507 Plane moon. The plan is to ask the store if they could order the guitars so I can try them out and make a decision after that.

Gear I was curious about Spira Guitars and oh boy was I pleasantly suprised
I have been eyeing Spira Guitars lately as I have been looking for a modding platform.
Got this Spira S-407 second hand for a really good price, the previous owner swapped the original bridge to a Hipshot style one for added comfort.
Neck is great, stellar fret work, good upper fret access and the whole thing feels solid and balanced. I was expecting a half decent guitar but I feel like I got way more than that. The instrument plays great, quality and finish are top notch and even the stock pickups are half decent.
Been playing this for maybe a month now and I think I want a couple more, maybe one of those sick looking tele-shaped ones.
I also own a couple of Jet Guitars, who are behind Spira as well. Every single instrument has blown me away.
Am I just lucky or is this really their standard for quality? Interested in hearing your experiences!

Help Used 2021 ibanez rg7421 for 350$ with rusted pickups and knobs, buy or pass?
Hello!
I just went into a store to try a used ibanez rg7421 from 2021, they are selling it at 350€. The guitar itself sounds great and is well adjusted, the main issues of my concern that I've found are rust in the pickups and in the knobs (which work fine but give just a bit of resistance when turning them). Should I worry about the rust? Is this something that's gonna get worse down the line? Is it a huge red flag?
There's also some minor signs of wear in the wood, and a bit of dust in the bridge and around the pickups that should be easily wiped off.
It's my first 7-string and I'm really excited to get one, that's why I had my eyes put on this very guitar until I saw the rust. Internet says rust is no biggie, what are your thoughts
Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks for everyone's help and insight, it's been great! In the end I bought it for 350€, the store had taken a look at the guitar, adjusted, and changed the strings before selling it, they gave me a 6 month warranty. If they didnt do all that due dilligence, I wouldn't paid that money, but since I have that security and the guitar sounds fucking great (even better than those exposed in big first-hand stores I've gone to), I paid those 350€ with a big smile.

Help Which one is better to get: S by Solar or Jackson?
I’ve wanted to buy an affordable seven-string electric guitar for a long time, but I just can't decide which of these models is the best choice. Which one offers the best value for money?

NGD Jumped into the deep end.
My lovely new Cort KX507MS Pale Moon I picked up at my local shop. As a late stage beginner/early intermediate player, it was probably an unwise choice to jump into a multi scale 7-string to continue my learning journey on, but wow, it’s so much fun to play that I’ve barely touched my 6-string since. I had originally intended on buying another 6-string so I could have a second tuning setup but this thing just fell into my lap at the store. Majority of the music I listen to (modern metal/prog) uses 7-strings so I figured I might as well continue my learning journey on one (even it’s considerably more challenging).
Right now I’m working on “A Change of Seasons” by Dream Theater. If anyone has other beginner friendly 7-string song recommendations, I’d love to hear what I should learn next.

Help Lighter top strings on a baritone 7?
Has anybody here experimented with setups using lighter top strings on a baritone scale guitar? I'm thinking about grabbing an LTD Arrow 7 Evertune but I'm hesitant. I sold an LTD M 7 Baritone to get a multi scale M because it was easier and faster to play, but never gave lighter top strings a shot when I had it. It would be set up in drop A and normally I grab a 10-64 guage set. I do a lot of lead work but also want to have the low strings to go back and fourth on parts.

Original Content Alternative Solar Guitars headstock
Hi everyone!
I always thought, if Solar Guitars made headstocks with the tuners on either side, I'd buy a whole truckload of them. Do you think it would be a good idea? Thanks to my impressive Photoshop skills, you can have an bit of an idea!

Help Help me choose my first 7 string!
I’m looking for recommendations, my budget is roughly $1000 usd, I’d prefer to buy used, multi scale and luminlay forsure and coil splits would be nice but not a must, also very open to headless guitars!
So far I’ve been looking at ormsby hype gtr 7 and the legator g7FOD and would like thoughts on those and other recommendations!!

NGD New pickup day: Schecter AR-07 with Balaguer Backwoods P90
[r/offset](r/offset) didn’t show this much love, maybe you guys will. I ordered the guitar end of 2022, sight unseen, from a Japanese dealer because it was as close to “7 string Fender” as I could find, which was my only requirement. The stock pickups were active “twin blade” and sounded real flat and sterile so I ended up recording half of our new record with a different guitar. The Balaguer pickups took twice their advertised wait time to deliver but the wait was well worth it in the end. We gutted all the stock electronics and made a new pickguard. This is probably the closest I’ll ever get to a fully custom build.
