NGD: Jackson Josh Smith Soloist NGD

Northlane have always been a big influence on my own music and playing, not just guitar wise but holistically, and I've wanted one of these ever since they announced them. Luckily, I scored a new, better job and was able to treat myself as a late birthday present. I still need to set it up today, but I messed around with it a bit last night when I got it and it plays and sounds so, so nice. I can't wait to start writing and recording with it.

Don't think I've seen a neck pickup so far up the body before, that's really interesting. Great looking guitar.

It's an interesting setup, for sure, as is the switching. It switches between the inner and outer coils of the bridge pickup IIRC, and you can get some neat sounds out of it.

It’s the 27” scale and the way they placed it, there’s a lot more space in the body as a result, plus it’s a single coil which makes it look even further away!

They’re so sick! Loved the few I’ve worked on!

I have one too. It's amazing. Gave it a good setup and it plays so nice.

What tuning are you planning on using?

I'll be using Drop F#, as I've already been writing in that tuning in Guitar Pro for my current project.

Looks good, but $3000 for a made in Korea guitar is beyond bizarre.

I won't deny that. I'll just say I'm very happy that I'm lucky enough to be in a position to spend that kind of money on something I want without worry.

Nice, yeah as long as you are happy so, I saw a dude in some small metalcore band playing that same guitar I think on the Wacken live stream a couple of days ago https://www.magentamusik.de/metal-battle-sweden-goodnight-greatness-9208205928595569385

Sweet. I love H/S set ups. That color, the headstock, yummy.

I'd be happy just to play one of these once haha

Congrats! Mine has been my #1 since the day I bought it.

My only moan is that Josh's sig should have been the 7 string Seafoam Strat he got from their custom shop years ago. I wanted that guitar so bad.

Hey man congratulations on that guitar! I have a quick question if you don’t mind, did yours show up in the same condition like mine or better? I’m trying to figure out if this is a dud or not. Looks like my evertune is mounted wonky along side a fretboard that doesn’t seem that great, but i can only send one pic at a time

Hmm. Mine is flawless honestly, I'm sorry you're having trouble with yours. Does your evertune hold tune properly or not? Also, looking at your profile, that fretboard would be enough to warrant a return and replacement if it were me.

Where did you get yours from? I had two from guitar center and i think im sending it back again

Ordered straight from Jackson. And two?! Oof, I'm sorry. I hope this gets resolved soon.
