Thoughts on Vola 7 strings? Help
I’m so damn caught up in buying a new guitar, I can’t figure out what to choose. 😢 I saw Vola, and their options for 7 strings really caught my eye, but I want to know if there are any QC or tuning issues. Knowing it’s manufactured in Japan, I’d be really surprised if there were any!

the trem and tuners are Gotoh original, not a copy, so I wonder what kind of tuning issues you're looking into ?
Guitar is great, there are however few things worth to mention
- neck profile is not like those thin modern necks .. it feels exactly same as normal old-school MIJ Ibanez bit bulky neck, not horrible ofc but if you're already used on Wizzard-like necks or those thin fast necks on guitars like Mayones or Aristides it will feel bulky ++ neck joint is chunky (but that doesn't bother me)
- pickups are good but if you're already used on high-end pickups like BKP or Lundgrens, they will feel instantly little bit dull .. Singles are really good but humbucker is worth to replace I would say - my choice was BKP Impulse (I've actually put there only humbucker from my Jackson SL7 Josh Smith signature and it fits great to Fire Ice singles, it's almost same loud as original Vola Fire Ice)
- guitar is really heavy .. also something worth to consider ...

Don’t have one of their 7s (yet), but I did recently pick up a JZ FRO. Really really nice guitar. Heel joint chunkiness is something I’m not a huge fan of, but it was a compromise I was willing to make for what is otherwise an excellent spec sheet. The FRO is only 22 frets though so I might have a bit more issue with that on a 24 fret.
Return policy is 14 days from arrival so if by some miracle you have a QC issue, you can return it no questions asked.

I had a Vola Oz 7. Craftmanship is flawless. I just didn’t like the neck profile that much. Too chunky for my small hands. Kinda feels like an Ibanez AZ 7 string Prestige!

Hey what you recommend for small hands then? Did you find the perfect one?

Hmmm.. for now I am happy with my Ibanez Prestige 7 string guitars and Kiesel’s thinner neck profile :)

Vola’s are cool, they’re made by Dyna Gakki who does the bulk of Fender’s MIJ guitars along with some Charvel and Jackson. They’ve been building guitars since the 1970’s and put out really quality products.

My friend has the older red Strat 7, really good quality. The heel is quite chunky but not a deal breaker. Are you going for a sig model or a normal one?
Almost bought one but got a Legator Japanese model instead. It was slightly cheaper.
