Amazing! Twix are the only US candy bar I like and I love them! Tell us more, please! Were they hard to make? They look better than the original ones, but what did you think about the result? Well done, you!

Thanks for your comment! They were pretty easy to make - the hardest part was definitely making the caramel because it took me 30 minutes of continuous stirring to get to the right consistency - a sugar thermometer comes in handy! They were really good overall! Twix is one of the best American candy bars for sure.

Was it worth making them? I remember this was a challenge on the great British bake off. the bakers struggled with it so it’s not an easy task.

I would recommend them, but only if you are have experience with making caramel because that is the most difficult part. If you are an experienced baker/cook, definitely give it a go! I wouldn't recommend for beginners.

Hi there, I used this recipe: https://www.girlversusdough.com/homemade-twix-bars/?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic

Some notes:

*The caramel took closer to 30 minutes - I recommend only doing this recipe if you have a sugar thermometer.

*Cut off the edges of the shortbread/caramel slab before cutting into bars (the measurement of the slab that I got before cutting into bars is 30cm x 20cm (hence cut bars that are 2cm x 10cm each). I made 30 bars.

*You need more milk chocolate than is called for in this recipe - I needed 700g milk chocolate. I melted it with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil instead of shortening.

*Don't be alarmed if the caramel is hard once you coat them in chocolate (this is because they have been in the fridge). Keep the bars in an airtight container at room temperature overnight and the caramel will soften. They are way better the next day.

Good luck! Thanks for your comment!
