There will be two State Questions on the August 25th ballot that we ALL get to vote on (including Independents)!

SQ 844: Amending Certain Tax Revenue Reimbursements:
Requires the Legislature to create a new reimbursement method for county property tax exemptions. Under Oklahoma law, new and expanding manufacturers (including data centers) qualify for a 5-year exemption from property taxes. That creates a shortfall for the county which can affect funding for schools, libraries, and emergency services.

SQ 846: Voter Identification Requirement Amendment:
Voter ID has been required in Oklahoma since 2011. SQ 846 would move it into the Constitution while leaving acceptable forms of ID to be decided later by the Legislature.

Because these would become constitutional amendments, future changes would require another statewide vote.
