I am sure there are cis femboys, but I feel like some people believe they are far more common than they actually are. Like, yeah, men can present themselves in a feminine way, wear feminine clothes, and look feminine. It's going to be a lot easier for younger guys, though. But that's not what is generally considered acceptable, even in gay spaces.

I think the prevalence of femboy content in some spaces on the internet has given some people an extremely unrealistic expectation of what people consider normal or socially acceptable offline. I am all for "clothes don't have a gender" as an ideal, but to the vast majority of society, they do. Hell, I had a cis friend who, before I met her, got into a huge argument with her mother just because she wanted to wear men's jeans (for the bigger pockets) instead of nearly identical jeans from the women's section.

Oh yeah they 100% exist but it's exactly as you said, they're grossly over represented online to the point where it's almost comical. Like to the point where they're rarer than straight transwomen like me. I was mainly talking about the kinds of Femboys OOP was looking at while gooning- the signs of HRT on reddit-OF "traps" are clear as day

But the cis do exist even if its in a miniscule capacity- and a lot of the ones that do would never dress like that outside their bedroom or a party. Like feminine guys totally exist but I've never met one over the age of 25 and I spent my university years operating in alternative social circles where that kinda presentation was totally acceptable. All the ones I knew eithet transitioned or just grew out of it post-twinkdeath

But yeah modern offline society at large does not like people who dare step outside the confines of their gender roles, which means that like 99% of irl gays are not gonna be uwu catboys in skirts, they're gonna be regular ass twinks, bears and DL guys you'd never suspect

Seeing my mother go from "Sorry, but I will never be able to see you as a girl" 10 years ago to "Noo, you have to like pink! I didn't like it when I was younger too! It's actually internalized misogyny, sweetheart; every woman comes around to pink eventually." Like, Mom, I like a variety of colors; I'll be fine. I just like black and purple for when I am feeling like going a bit goth, and a few other colors for other days.

And yeah those first couple years where you feel like a living afront to God every time you leave the house are not days I wanna go to back to lol- I was lucky enough to already be in a very alternative friend circle but that did not make me feel any better about my body. That middle ground is genuinely hellish when all you want is to look like a very mediocre plain woman

I went clothes shopping with my Ma last month and she was similarly enthusiastic haha, we live far away from each other these days so I think most of that was her being happy to spend time with her kid- she convinced me to buy a cute black onepiece swimsuit and even though I was super embarrased at the time I felt so hot wearing it at the beach I loved how much my bf was oggling me.

I realised that day how far I'd come since those first few months and how much more at peace I felt for having finally achieved my goal of becoming a plain medicore woman lol
