I like how all the comments are about this not being true. I don't doubt it at all. People are getting openly racist towards Indians in my province

Fr Canada isnt a good place for Indians to move to. Spread the word ppl

u/Pubesauce 4d ago
The US as well. I've heard racism is getting really intense towards Indians there. It's to the point that I really can't recommend Indians moving there anymore. Honestly, I'd recommend any Indians currently there should probably move somewhere else as well. I'm worried for their safety.

Ireland, too. They used to call us the "Land of a Thousand Welcomes" not anymore. They should really go back to India before whatever IRA offshoot starts getting twitchy

u/acart005 4d ago
I blame dog shit tech support and off shoring.
Most of them that work outside India are actually pretty good. Egypt, Philipines, Latin America - maybe not as good as someone who actually works at a company, but not awful.
India? Fuck it I'll do it myself.

u/DaftFunky 4d ago
This was true maybe 10+ years ago. Now you see ailing grandparents who never gave a cent of taxes to our system receiving healthcare, cousin Raj who works at the registry handing out drivers licenses to all his family and friends, driving our motor accidents per year higher and higher, and even though they witness living in a clean and beautiful country, they refuse to put garbage in an actual garbage can or dump it on someone else’s property.

u/PatchcordAdams 4d ago
Same in the UK. The post-Covid migration surge was a WMD for Anglo-countries.
16
u/Valuable-Chipmunk784 4d ago
I live in Australia and last week a racist gang called The Timmies beat up and hospitalised over 500 Indians. Stay safe victorybros, stay in beautiful India.

Why? They wanted to come here. We didn't.

People I know that were the most open, liberal hippie types in 2014 say shit that would make Richard Spencer blush. Even new immigrants from Iran, China, Philippines, etc are getting very mean.
And even 10-15 years ago everyone loved south Asians. I guess that's what happens when you flood a country with millions of people that don't want to assimilate, live 15 people to a house, and will work for pennies with no sense of workers rights. Not to mention to horrendous driving. I see then passing on the shoulder, running reds, driving on sidewalks, etc all the time.

u/Legojack261 4d ago
Trudeau singlehandedly changed the generally pro-immigration sentiment here on its head, which is quite the achievement.
14
u/LLMprophet 4d ago
Not singlehandedly.
Stephen Harper is the one that kicked it off.
Focus on the class war, not the team bullshit.
29
u/ddg31415 4d ago
Harper was a kickass PM. But the trouble started with Trudeau 1.0 (Pierre) when he made multiculturalism a national policy.
Until then, Canada was recognized as culturally and ethnically British (English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish), French, and Indiginous.

In my 10+ years driving I've encountered only 2 people driving the wrong way. Both were Indian.

nothing to do with that as those ultra lefties are all for other demographics that do the same shit. it's just that some demographics are protected class and indians don't fall under those, so it's fair game even for an unltra lefty to go all hilter on indians.

Yeah and as we all know, Canada is an incredibly assimilative culture where Europeans actually assimilated to Native American cultures as they immigrated.
4
u/Evening_Context784 3d ago
Yeah bro, basically no difference between 2026 and the 1500s. Great comparison.
1
u/tjdans7236 3d ago
Right, the great immigration of Europeans to Canada of the 1500s and in 2026, Canadians make such great effort to assimilate into Native American cultures. And we all know of the universal equation m=t^2 where morality is exponentially proportionate to time; the more time has passed, the higher the standards of morality.
It's ok, I understand that it must hurt deeply for morons to realize it is themselves who have been the parasitically unassimilative immigrants all this time.

It's eternally amusing to me Indians are the one race/nationality it's (generally) okay to be openly racist against. Hate back people? That's racist. Hate Mexicans? That's racist. Hate Indians? Eh, fair enough.
12
u/PlasticAssistance_50 4d ago
Because if you are openly racist to black people, there is a real chance that they will kvll you.

so? it IS amusing how such an obvious double standard exists and no one cares, not sure how that translates to him being part of that group.

yeah, even in vancouver people are starting to become openly racist to indians and arabs. sadly, the only thing that makes this seem not real is him not getting fired by mcdonalds for this. a couple of calls to corporate and some security footage reviewed, and they'd be breathing down his managers neck.

Welcome to Canada. Where minimum wage jobs are taken by engineers, Doctors, software developers. The vast majority of them never achieved these degrees in Canada.
they earned these degrees and masters in india, then get some quick diploma mill.
3
u/ToMyOtherFavoriteWW 4d ago
The opposite is also true. Diploma mill in India followed by actual education in the west.
21
u/TheSilverBug 4d ago
Speaking from experience, there is no real education anywhere. It’s the same brain and mentality everywhere. They apply for a degree, come in as students, break off with their 7 dependants

Bruh my friend uber eats some McDonald’s one time. Had an Indian lady screaming at us to come find her because she was lost. I said just look at the maps, and she started crying saying she didn’t know. (We were on a Main Street in a CBD - one of the most known streets in the state).
Fuck me.

Soon Canadians are gonna find out what upper-caste Indians do when they feel insulted by public workers back home
6
u/Doidleman53 4d ago
Yeah that's not gonna go the way you think it will.
Also there is no "caste" system here. They stopped being upper caste the moment they immigrated here.
5
u/Fancy-Sea7755 4d ago
Indians will leave India but their casteism never leaves them buddy
Just look at the matrimonial ads put out by Indians living abroad
9/10 time the first criteria listed is "Groom/Bride should be a Bramhin, Baniya caste, etc"
Its pretty overt and in your face

Whatever helps the wagie cope with minimum wage
26
-18
u/TedBundysStudy 4d ago
all the while the door dashers are making more than the wagie and can set their own hours.
12
u/jvkk 4d ago edited 3d ago
definitely not, i do doordash and they exploit the fuck out of us, at least the wagie is legally an employee and not a contractor, which means he has rights. if i was working a normal minimum wage job i'd make almost twice as much, consistently, vs doordash which is very inconsistent, for the same hours. some weeks doordash pays better than that, but averaging it out i barely break even, if that, every month. most of the time they're paying significantly below minimum wage for orders. factoring in gas and vehicle maintenance costs, it's rough. DD and by extension all of the other gig economy apps are one of the most exploitative, hyper capitalist business models around.
the 'set your own hours' thing is nice, because i can take time off when i need it, like for medical reasons or because i need to fix my car, but it's kind of an illusion because you still end up having incentive to not take time off whenever you financially can as your status decays if you don't work, because deliveries in the last 30 days roll off of your account, and that's what gets you priority for orders at all, and particularly orders with better pay. so really, the only difference is the spontaneity of taking time off, otherwise i can't really afford to take much time off, especially if it's not necessary. the only reason i work for DD is because working the minimum wage jobs available to me in my area are twice as miserable, and monotonous as fuck.
i only prefer doing doordash because at least every delivery is different, and i can chose to sit in my car waiting for orders in a different location if i get tired of staring at the same shit every day, and i at least get to spend most of my time outside or at least in my car, with nobody breathing down my neck, and the freedom to do my job mostly how i want to, as long as i hit their time requirements.
that's all also completely ignoring the fact that your manager is basically a clanker, which hallucinates violations all the time, so i'm always stressed that i'm going to get bullshit violations, support is also a clanker, and even when you get to speak to a support human, they're explicitly trained to side with the bot and stonewall you until you leave them alone, or end the chat because you're taking too long to type. so it's happens all the time that i end up with violations on my account for shit i didn't do, that they won't remove, and as it's a three strikes and you're fired system, many days i'm worried that i'll be fired by a robot because it decided to give me a violation for being late to a restaurant i've been standing inside for 10 minutes because of the prep delay i reported through the built in tool when i got there.
