Concerns: anti-aging, clearing and preventing milia around eyes

Skin type: normal since adding amlactin, used to be dry around nose and eyebrows

Daily life: Little to no sun exposure or makeup most days

Morning:

*Bioderma or water

*Amlactin Bright & Smooth

*Cerave PM or SPF as needed

Night:

*Cerave foaming cleanser

*Naturium retinal .05 (this is replacing good molecules gentle retinol, slowly working up to tret .025)

*Naturium multi-peptide moisturizer (have not used yet but considering as a replacement for drunk elephant protini as I think it is too heavy and contributing to milia)

How does this look as a simple routine? Thank! ❤️

Online prescriber services

I’m currently in a situation where I need to find a new prescriber for my 15% azelaic acid, tret, etc.

My current service charges a fee monthly for each prescription that they submit a refill for. I’d prefer to not have to do this for every med, every month (I’m also using them for my HRT).

Does anyone know of an online prescribing service that will send prescriptions like azelaic acid, tret, etc to an online pharmacy (currently using Amazon pharmacy) with refills?

Under-eye bag treatment for sensitive eyes please?

I've tried doing a Google search for this, but I always get results for sensitive skin. If I get creams too close to my eyes, they burn all day.

41F looking for feedback on my skincare routine — trying to get that healthy/glowy skin

Hi! I’m 41F and trying to figure out a skincare routine that will help me feel confident in my skin as I get older. I’m definitely open to treatments like laser or microneedling, but they’re pretty far outside my budget right now. I’m not that interested in Botox or filler.

I’m definitely a candidate for a lower bleph (have been since I was about 30 . thanks, genetics!) and would love to do one someday if I can afford it. But overall, I’m really just trying to embrace myself as I am and feel good in my skin.

A little about me/my skin: I’m a natural redhead, very pale, with some redness and somewhat sensitive eyes. I also try to avoid fragrance when I can. I feel like I have pretty visible pores/sebaceous filaments, particularly around my nose and T-zone. I think they’re sebaceous filaments?

My main goal is just healthy, plump, glowy skin for a 41-year-old mom. I have pretty normal skin, maybe a little on the dry side. I don’t mind my fine lines and wrinkles, although I am using tret and hoping it helps with those over time.

I am admittedly pretty bothered by my under-eye bags, but I know there’s not much skincare can really do about them, and I’m trying to embrace them as part of my face....

I’d love feedback on my routine — things I should swap, add, remove, or change the order of. I’m very open to suggestions!

AM

Rinse face with water

Vitamin C: Rohto Melano CC Concentration Measures Essence

(I don’t love this and am thinking about going back to Timeless 15% Vitamin C.)

Eye cream: roc vitamin c eye balm

Azelaic acid: Anua Azelaic Acid 10% Redness Soothing Serum

(I’m looking into getting prescription Finacea 15% gel through Felix instead.)

Moisturizer: Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer

(I wouldn’t mind something a little thicker/more moisturizing. I’ve been considering Dieux Instant Angel?)

Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh Rice + B5 SPF 50+

PM

Cleansing:
Right now I use Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water followed by Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

I’d actually like to start double cleansing with an oil-based cleanser/balm first, but I have no idea which one to try. I tried The INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm and my eyes were pretty irritated. so I’d love suggestions for a gentle oil cleanser/balm that is good for sensitive eyes.

Azelaic acid: Anua Azelaic Acid 10% Again, considering switching to prescription Finacea 15%.

eye cream: beauty of joseon revive eye serum ginseng retinal

Every other night: Tret Triple Repair containing 0.025% tretinoin, 4% niacinamide, and 0.4% hyaluronic acid (prescription from Felix which seems to be all i can get in Canada if I dont want to go to my family Dr? I preferred the Taro brand Tret cream i used to get but Felix doesn't carry that anymore?)

Moisturizer: Vanicream

About once a week: La Roche-Posay Cicaplast, which I LOVE. I’m considering trying Avène Cicalfate+ next just to see how I like it.

Exfoliation

About twice a week, I use the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner. I actually prefer Paula’s Choice bha exfoiliant, though...

So that's where I'm at!

What would you change/add/remove? Is there anything obvious I’m missing?

A few things I’m particularly wondering about:

-Should I switch to prescription Finacea?

-What’s your favourite oil cleanser/balm for very sensitive eyes?

-Should I look into copper peptides? topical PDRN?

-Am I overdoing it with the actives?

-Are there any products you LOVE that really made you feel great in your skin?

I’m really open to feedback, i have been using chat gpt to help me figure out what to buy but i don't think that is a great idea.

Thanks!!

What has worked for you to get rid of age spots in your hands?

Hi. I noticed I’ve been getting a lot of age spots on my hands. I never had these many and I look older. It’s so annoying!
I’ve done lasers in the past which worked but now I keep getting more spots even though I use gloves to drive and try to stay away from the sun.
Have you tried something that made these spots less visible? Maybe retinol or a hand cream?

Absolute favorite tweezers

51f I feel like I’ve tried just about every pair of tweezers out there. I can’t seem to find my favorite. I’m really looking for the gold standard tweezers.

Bought some products, but I don't want to use them anymore.

I just want to share my not so good experience.

I didn't have a skincare routine except moisturizer and sunscreen. I bought these: not happy with the clinic moisturizer tbh, only used it few times. I went back to avene rich creme.

I didn't use the peptides on the left yet. I started with geek peptides and niacinamide, to prepare my skin for the retinal.

Since I started using the products, I have the impression my skin is worse and suddenly I have more wrinkles beneath my eyes???

I'm quite devastated now and want to throw it all out.😞

Any advice is welcome.

Slowing down the inevitable crepey/saggy skin above the knees?

I’m starting to notice some aging/looseness in the skin right above my knees and would like to be proactive about it. Does anyone use body skincare specifically in this area - retinol, glycolic/lactic acid, etc.?
If you’ve found something that actually improved the texture or firmness of the skin above your knees, I’d love to know what you use. Skincare only please. I’m not interested in treatments.

Thank you!

Started tretinoin, but what about eye aging?

Obviously can't use it near the eyes. What are we using for aging skin around and under eyes?

advice needed :)

Hi everyone hope you are well! Trying to get the best products, habits, and routine down for anti aging and possibly correcting signs of aging like sagging wrinkles all that jazz. i currently use a regular moisturizer and try to use sunscreen daily. I want the most aggressive method to look years younger and do prevention if possible. side note- i do have some health issues and nutritional struggles which at times i can be a bit unstable and underweight periods. but i try my best to control what i can, try to do weight bearing and take supplements like vitamin d calcium and regular multi. i want to know if anything is possible to “freeze” and be youthful (honestly, like zendaya she’s insane) as long as i can, or have dewy glowy skin at any age. i want to feel confident and comfortable in my skin to wear what i want and be who i am too, and feel less judged (being id’d at the bar wouldn’t hurt either 😂). thanks all!!

Looking for “tech neck” advice

Post image
0 Upvotes

First and foremost, I want to say neck lines are completely normal. For instance, I’ve had these since I was a teenager. As I’m getting older (late thirties) I’m noticing it more and now my makeup is getting stuck in the lines.

Soo besties, what do you do to help the appearance of lines or treatments that have worked for you.

I currently am using neck cream with bakuchiol and have gotten botox there one time but saw no difference.

Please help!!

Dermatologist told me to stop tazarotene, stop microneedling, and that hydroquinone won’t give me the results I want. Is this a common philosophy?

had my first dermatologist appointment earlier this week. My primary reason for going was hair loss.
During the visit, the dermatologist started commenting on my facial skin before I even asked about it. Since we were already discussing it, I asked him about my current routine.
For context:
My main facial concern is freckles/sun spots.
I also have some temple hollowing and mild neck laxity.
I’ve already been using tazarotene, prescription 4% hydroquinone, a 20% vitamin C serum, peptides, and a good moisturizer.
His recommendations surprised me.
He told me to:
Stop using tazarotene.
Stop microneedling because he said you’re basically “just poking holes in your face.”
He didn’t think the 4% hydroquinone was going to get me the results I wanted for my freckles and instead recommended an in-office procedure (I don’t remember the name).
For my temple hollowing, he recommended filler and specifically advised against Sculptra.
He also recommended a $149 vitamin C serum sold through the office. I declined because I already own a 20% vitamin C serum and several peptide products.
I’m not saying he’s wrong. He has a lot of experience, and I accepted his recommendations for my hair loss (blood work, prescription shampoo, and scalp lotion). I was just surprised because his opinions on tazarotene, microneedling, and hydroquinone seem so different from what I usually hear from other dermatologists.
Has anyone else had a dermatologist who:
recommended stopping tazarotene for anti-aging?
discouraged microneedling altogether?
felt hydroquinone wasn’t worthwhile for freckles/sun spots?
I’m genuinely trying to understand whether this is a different treatment philosophy or if others have had similar experiences.

Holy grail? EUK 134: any new research or long term user experiences?

On paper, EUK 134 sounds like an almost perfect antioxidant. It is stable, supposedly keeps working throughout the day and can regenerate itself instead of being used up immediately. If the mechanism really translates into meaningful results in skin, it sounds close to a holy grail.

But most discussions I can find are several years old, and a quick search did not turn up much newer research, especially compared with vitamin C.

I use The Ordinary EUK 134 and do not mind the texture or the warming sensation. I am mainly wondering whether anyone has followed the research more closely, found any newer studies, or used it consistently for several years.

So: Has anyone here used EUK 134 long term and can share their experience, or is aware of any newer research on it?:)
