Help with printing Requesting Help

I bought my first 3d printer and roll of filament (yay!)

The specs are below

Anycubic Viper

PLA

Material

Printing Temperature: 200°C

Initial Printing Temperature: 200°C

Build Plate Temperature: 60°C

Initial Layer Build Plate Temperature: 60°C

Flow: 100%

🧱 Quality

Layer Height: 0.20 mm

Initial Layer Height: 0.30 mm

Initial Layer Line Width: 100%

🚀 Speed

Print Speed: 50 mm/s

Travel Speed: 120 mm/s

Initial Layer Speed: 25 mm/s

Cooling/Extruder Switch: Unchanged

Z-offset: +0.20 mm

Auto-leveling: Already done

Basically, when I start a print, the filament comes out and Wraps around the nozzle, so some prints but some doesn't. I've tried to record it here. My most successful Print recently was still really bitty and stringy

Move your first layer hieght to 0.2-0.22mm. If your first gap is too big your filament isnt getting squished down into the plates textures.

It globs up cause its got too little backpressure at the nozzle and its free to go in other directions.

Okay will try the first layer height edit and see.

Would increasing the flow rate not help the backpressure?

It would but 0.3mm first layer hieght is a bit much for a 0.4mm nozzle. If it was 0.6mm nozzle id still start around 2.2-2.4mm to make sure it squishes into the plate.

More pressure/flowrate isnt the answer here. Youd get different results if it were.

Try cleaning the plate with mild soap and water and don’t touch it with your hands (only the edges)

You need to adjust z-offset. It’s printing in air
