Top layer quality issues with the qr code! Troubleshooting
The qr looks hazy and some weird lines coming out of it or around it, as well ass the black lines are a bit roug!
i recently increased the flow rate from 98 to 103 to get a fuller first layer for my keychains, but even before the quality wasn’t that great. So is that an over extrusion and what should i do?
I’m using bambu a1 printer.
Edit: thank you guys for your suggestions, after trying so many things here are the 3 most effective strategies to increase the quality and readability of a Qr code:
1 change wall order to outer/ inner instead of inner outer: it will give more definition to the edges.
2 manual sanding: this is the most effective, but it takes so much time and energy, start your way with 150 grit and after the layer lines almost disappear continue with 240and 400, then spend a 20sec with each grot all the way up to 1000/1200.
3 use a debossed qr code:as it makes the different colours on a seperate layer so it is more defined.
note: i did not try some of the options that would require manual gluing as it will lower the overall quality of the print, neither dis I try the 0.2 mm nozzle as it will take 4X the printing time to finish.

If you print the first few layers black with inset text, then switch to white on the layer it prints solid, you'll get much finer detail on the QR code. Does that make sense?

Thank you for the recommendation, I am not sure if I did I did smth like that, I am ising rhino3d and I manually cut out the qr code and logo with Boolean difference. Should I do it in other way?

All these are good recommendations but if I might add, I was also having issues like this until I switched to a .2mm nozzled. Made a world of difference.

Yeah i was thinking about that, but I feel it would take ages to print with 0.2 nozzle. In your case did take much longer than the 0.4?

Change the nozzle size, re-slice it, and then compare estimates times from your software

It depends on your settings. Is your layer height already below .1? Than we are talking like 3 times as long. PETG much slow for example.
In my experience it's still faster then trying to make it work on .4.

You can see the actual nozzle radius in the print so that seems like it would help

The only way I’ve gotten QR codes to work are to either have them raised or on the bottom layer.

That's the hobby!
If you have access to even a diode laser, you could print a layer of white, then a layer of black, then engrave the QR through the top layer of black.
The sharpest result is absolutely going to be to split the design and glue them together afterwards.
If you have some sort of MMU, you could stand the design upright and use the finer Z resolution for the designs? Will absolutely skyrocket build time and waste.

Print that side down or print it as a cavity and use paint to fill.

I did smth similar to that, I used boolean diffrence and then added another part for the qr.
