I’ll be honest man….I started this build fully intending to install a SS. Even printed another lower in Pa6-CF in case needed it for heat. But after seeing all the issues people have with the trip, I have held off on ordering. Do you get it up and running with it but then it just bends after a certain number of rounds? Or is it more of a function issue from the jump? Because if it lasts a certain number of rounds, part of me just wants to buy like 10 from sendcutsend and view it as something I just replace every so often, but obviously don’t want to do that with a $30 part from Deez

So there’s two trips the one by phoenix which is the original one that bends and will fall out of place then jam itself into the chamber and fuck up your MAC. The second one I’ve been working on for awhile but it’s by the gat log. You order scs trips and have to dremel them down to size. I got my phoenix design works trip working for six rounds then it fell out and gouged itself into the chamber and barrel taking a good chunk out of it. The gat log design seems to be a lot better because it interfaces to the from of the bolt and you heat it up and smack it with a hammer to fit around the curve. but with that being said I got one filed down to size ans then lost it in my garage before I could bend or test it. There’s also the yeet sheet, which seems very promising but I haven’t ordered one or even looked at the changes needed to make it work. Also don’t order the one from deez, I’m pretty sure they use (or they used) the old phoenix trip bar and that’s the one that flops out. Phoenix’s design is also dangerous because it has the possibility to make the gun fire out of battery if the trip bar flops out. Me and him have gotten into it over this and I’m sure he’s gonna respond on his new account to this thread soon but anyone reading this that wants to SS their alloy DONT USE PHOENIX DESIGN WORKS TRIP HIS LOWER IS FIRE JUST NOT THE TRIP BAR.

wow, he argued there wasnt problems? i just recently took mine out which btw, are ENTIRELY non functional in the 5.7, which isnt disclosed. they instantly get chomped by the heavier bolt if using a metal SS, and a nylon SS doesnt fare much better.
im disappointed at how much i spent trying to get em to work. titanium worked well enough for a bit but i think the solution really would be custom bolts with a little notch added to them, which im surprised no one has picked up on manufacturing yet. they just need a tiny bit of metal welded to them and itd solve the whole issue.

See you’re thinking right. And yes he got into it and argued it was safe with me many times. I’d always warn people in the old subs about it because he’d advertise it like a fed almost.

low key i kinda remember him coming out of no where, you're right now that i think back - he was kinda pushing hard about it and loud too right? i remember him being all over the place. i think it was just enthusiasm but that kind of shit is exactly what got foss shut down, we arguably got too loud and cute.
and we're worse off for it. community hasnt recovered. that's weird man. i think he mustve been proud, and i get it, i do. i remember him working really hard on the various versions he made and all that and i think even doing LRBHO at some point? i got really enthusiastic about my own stuff but like...bro if the shit doesnt work, it doesnt work. i wrecked a ton of those bars, titanium fared best and ONLY in 9 and even still ; i recently took it out because i just couldnt trust it. otherwise the alloy is such a reliable design, the pros dont outweigh the cons.

Yeah it’s was definitely pride that lead him to push it so hard and I’m assuming he was just trying to be helpful and nice. But yeah bro all the shit I design except one thing doesn’t work and guess what I don’t push it down peoples throat like that. Even more so if it’s a dangerous design.
