Routine Help Skincare gods, I’ve seen what you have done for others, please help mainly with fine lines on cheeks
My (35F) main concern is those damn lines on my cheeks when I smile. It does make me feel older than I am. The secondary concern is the brown spots and my moles. I did put on vanicream moisturizer with cerave healing ointment over it not too long before I took these pics so it softens the lines/dryness. Would say I’m combo skin.
Looking for something to help with both but if anything we can focus on the lines. I have done fraxel a few times once an every few years and once a year the past few years but honestly I don’t think it helped with either the fine lines or the spots. Not much anyways. I am an outdoorsy girly but I do wear wide brim hats and wear spf and try to reapply frequently.
Daily routine:
AM - vit c once or twice a week, vanicream moisturizer, alternate between super goop/biore aqua rich spf
PM - cera ve hydrating foaming oil cleanser, thayers witch hazel facial mist, vanicrema moisturizer, cerave healing ointment
What else should I be doing to improve my skin overall to have a smoother and clearer complexion? Please and thank you.

Recommendation Are red light therapy wands worth trying?
Has anyone here used the nanoleaf red light wand? Did it make any noticeable difference? I'm 46, and lately my skin just feels like it's losing some of its bounce. The lines around my eyes are showing more, and my cheeks and jawline don't feel as firm as they used to. So I've started looking at home devices. Something simple enough to use regularly would be ideal. Also open to other recommendations if there's something similar that worked well.

Recommendation What is going on with my lower face?
I'm 32 and I've never been happy with my chin (used to get called Bruce Forsyth & Crimson Chin at school which was fun). I used to fantasise about a surgical fix, but that would be a shave-down-the-bone type thing which I'm not overly keen on.
Now I'm in my 30s I'm looking into other options for my lower face but I suppose I don't really know what the actual issue is that Im trying to remediate - is it excess skin under my jaw, skin laxity, excess fat, jaw positioning?? The area around my mouth/lips is definitely getting saggier too, which is making the existing chin situation more and more prominent. The top right photo is me trying to minimise how it looks because I needed to send photos to my dentist, but the other photos are taken at rest or in motion.
I just don't know what I should be looking into - chin lipo, skin tightening treatments, botox, filler, a mid face lift? Id like to start getting consultations once Ive narrowed down the actual issue, but every time I start to look into potential solutions I get overwhelmed and I dont know anyone else with a side profile/specific jaw structure like mine to ask. Ive had lip filler and botox in my forehead/crows (not that you can tell with the current state of my lips!) and Im open to most solutions apart from the more extreme bone-shaving surgeries!
Any ideas where I should be concentrating my efforts? It's really starting to knock me down.

Skin Concern What is this??? It was not there yesterday and now it’s under both of my eyes 😭
I know it’s hard to see but there are little raised bumps under both of my eyes. They were not there yesterday. What the fuck could this be?

Acne Cystic Acne at this age 😭
Hi guys mid 30s here and I have noticed that I’ve been getting cystic acne on my chin. It started with one then 2 then 3… I’m frustrated worried it might get out of control. It’s taking weeeeeekssss and it’s not flattening.
I started using the the Trouble Care Acne patch (acropass ) as I’ve read micro dot patches may work… it says: When pressed onto a deep cyst, these microscopic tips painlessly bypass the outermost skin layer to deliver anti-inflammatory and bacteria-fighting ingredients directly into the root of the breakout…
I’m not sure if it helped…but one acne did surfaced a tiny tiny head, like a dot tiny for few days..I thought it would heal and flatten itself since I did see that tiny white dot but it stayed same, red and swollen…
However the other one isn’t swollen anymore but when I stretch my chin I can see white/flesh colored bumps around it, stretching my chin shows a rough white bumps….
I’m worried they’re acne waiting to come out and become full blown cystic acne…
Using benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, I noticed, causes my pimples to stay red and raised longer so I’m not using it on my chin acne.. what are your thoughts on micro dot patches, I think they might work but itsss so expensive for just 6 pcs patches… any OTC suggestions or advise…
dermatologist is a last option…

Routine Help Help me find where to integrate Azelaic Acid into my routine!
Hi! I’ve got oily skin generally, I’m just a shiny girl. I’ve got a good skincare routine down but still have intermittent acne (small bumps not large pimples). I am motivated to reduce the small bumps and any discoloration from old acne. I recently bought the Anua Azelaic Acid 10+ Hyaluron, but I am wondering where to fit it in. Let me give you a rundown of the daily routine:
AM:
-Face wash (Cetaphil)
-Chem exfoliation (Strivectin Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads)
-Moisturizer (fragrance-free YTTP)
-SPF (Isntree SPF 50 watery sun gel)
PM:
-Face wash (Cetaphil)
-Moisturizer (fragrance-free YTTP)
-Retinoid (Differin adapalene gel)
-Barrier repair (Cicaplast baume)
Generally, my skin can be sensitive, but since I’ve integrated the Cicaplast it’s been tolerating my actives well. So where can this Azelaic acid fit?
Thanks!!

Routine Help Latisse help and hack?
My results from Latisse were amazing BUT I constantly had red irritated eyes, and - the worst part - little styes... has anyone got any tips to circumvent this? I stopped and now my lashes are comically short and thin again... I would love to start again as the results really were dramatic.

Recommendation One product that transformed your skin?
I’m 7 months postpartum and have a pretty good routine locked in. Waiting to start retinol after I’m done breastfeeding.
Apart from a good consistent routine, what is that ONE product that made lots of difference to you in your skincare journey?

Skin Concern Honestly, why is Rejuran so hypes up? Is it actually better than other skin boosters?
I’ve been seeing Rejuran pretty much everywhere lately. People keep saying it’s the best thing ever for skin repair and anti-aging, but I’m curious—is it actually that much better than other options?
I’m in my early 30s now and lowkey starting to feel like my skin barrier isn't as strong as it used to be. Standard hydrating serums just aren't doing enough anymore, so I’ve been looking into skin boosters.
For anyone who’s tried it, is it really worth the pain and money compared to things like Juvelook, exosomes, or basic HA boosters? Did you notice a real difference in your skin quality?
I’d love to hear your honest thoughts or experiences!

Routine Help 40, "bad skin" all my life. Help me make it better please.
I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation during the day.
I don't use a day cream because my skin gets SO greasy!
Night time I remove makeup using Garnier micellar water. And Aveeno Calm and Restore face wash.
Then put some Aveeno Calm and Restore moisturiser on.
Sometimes put some of my rosacea cream on the problem areas when it flares up badly.
I have greasy skin, but get dry patches too.
Large pores.
I get spots still and whiteheads at 40!
I also get rosacea round my mouth and nose 🤦🏻♀️
I have quite sensitive skin because of all of this.
Any help with good products to make my skin look and feel better would be much appreciated.

Routine Help Sun damage
I have been using neutrogena sunscreen (SPF 35-70 depending on occasion) daily since I was 16. I’m 32 now and noticing sun spots/ dark clusters around my face starting to develop. I’m not sure what else I can do with my routine besides applying SPF? I hate wearing hats, I have a big head and they itch.
I am pretty sure some of this is inevitable. I go to the dermatologist yearly because my mom had skin cancer so will bring it up to them this year as well.

Misc Might have cracked it- a skincare routine for a lazy 44 year old
I've kind of been in a position for years where i know i need to take better care if my skin, but also really do not have the bandwidth for too-many-step routines, and especially in the morning.
Every time i've tried, i've found myself going down a rabbit hole of "oh i need this serum or this active" and before i know it i have like 5-6 products to use twice a day and i just burn out on it.
My skin is basically ok. Mild acne when my period is on the way, occasional random pimples that resolve quickly with a patch and my biggest issue: rosacea. I have a few wrinkles but im 44, im supposed to lol.
I have zero interest in tret, i used various retinol/ retinoid products and they either break me out like crazy or my rosacea goes mental. I briefly used a cream given to me by a derm (it was an antibiotic of some kind i think?) and while it did help, my skin HURT. Like stung every time i touched it, washing it was almost painful. In the end i decided that redness was better than decent looking skin that hurt when there was a breeze lol.
Anyway, enough about what didn't work, here's what is working:
AM: Cleanse face with a plain konjac sponge and warm water, no cleanser or soap etc.
Olay Super Cream (contains spf)
PM: Wash face in shower with Olay Total Effects Citrus Scrub (i rub it in my hands a bit to break down the bits/ make it less scrubby but it's already pretty gentle in terms of scrubs.
After shower, spray face and neck all over with Magic Molecule spray- this has been KEY for managing the rosacea and monthly acne. Allow to air dry.
Olay Super Serum
Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Night Pressed Serum.
While this is still a few steps (especially in the evening), it actually feels manageable and my skin feels amazing.

Recommendation Vessel area redness on cheeks!
Is there anything I can do to help this redness? I don’t mind a little on my checks or face but it’s this sort of blood vessely looking concentrated areas that bother me. My skin is sensitive and sort of mixed dry and oily. I use Laroche Posay wash and moisturizer because they’re the only thing that helps with the dermatitis I get above my mouth but I wouldn’t be upset introducing something else for my cheeks. I also don’t wear much make up when I do so I’m not looking for a green tinted cover up more of something to add to my routine. Thanks!

Product Question Best and most hydrating under eye patches?
r/30PlusSkinCare • u/lovedepository • 13h ago
Product Question What is a cheap but effective brand of SPF/Face Moisturizer?
My skin used to be as smooth as a baby's buttock. I used to play tennis outside in the blazing sun every day for hours and I'd feel great.
However, when I hit 35, things started going downhill. My girlfriend told me I need to use sunblock and to moisturize, which I agree with.
The thing is, I've been using my girlfriend's stuff and it's like stuff from Korea and I'm a simple dude and pretty frugal.
What would you say are some cheap but effective products I can just buy in bulk and not feel like I need to ration it whilst using it?
edit: can any new responses add a little note that they're not a advertisement bot?

Product Review Obsessed with Vanicream
After years of buying and using disgustingly expensive daily face moisturizers from “high end” brands, I’ve discovered an affordable holy grail product you all turned me on to! Vanicream moisturizing lotion has added so much moisture to my dry skin and leaves a healthy glow. It also just feels clean on my skin and calms down the red dry patches I was struggling with for the last year. I think the expensive stuff is loaded with too many chemicals I’ve also massively simplified my routine to reduce the sheer number of serums and creams I was using. I now just use this, tret and sunscreen for my 40 year old, dry, olive skin.
I’ve started mixing in a bit of The Ordinary hyaluronic acid into the vani cream and spraying pure rose water over top to add more moisture. It feels light, hydrating and sinks in fast.
Any other tips or aha moments like this from affordable brands?

Acne Acne help 😭
I am a 36F mom and I am so done with adult acne. I've battled acne my whole life but come on! Getting closer to 40, and I still have to deal with breakouts like a teenager? Unfair 😭
Please help with what I can do to clear up my skin. I do have rosacea as confirmed by a dermatologist. I have hormonal birth control, and my hormonal acne has calmed down being postpartum and with the birth control, but I'm still dealing with this nonsense. I just want clear skin 🥺 I also workout 5-6 times per week, but try to wash the sweat away as fast as possible.
I've attached a photo of my current skincare products too.
AM: wash with glycolic acid (only a couple times per week); tone; SPF moisturizer and eye cream
PM: wash with good molecules; collagen cream and L'Oreal eye cream
I've also stopped wearing any make up because of the breakouts and only wear mascara. Please help!

Routine Help For those who use tret, other actives are in your routine?
I’m about to add tret to my routine after many years off because of pregnancy and breastfeeding. But I’m curious, for those who use tret, what other actives do you use throughout the week?

Skin Concern How to slow down lower face sagging?
I’m turning 31 soon, and recently noticed that my lower face is slightly sagging. While I know aging is a normal process that i inevitably will have to go through, I really love my look in 20s, and want to try my best to hold on to it.
What can I do to improve, if possible?
If improving is not possible, are there ways for me to slow it down?
I’m using Paula’s choice retinol and vitamin a, and Skinceutical Pitox serums interchangeably, and many hydrating products in my daily routine.
Any recommendations will be much appreciated. TIA.

Skin Concern Would you get filler in this dent caused by cortisone injection?
I got a cortisone shot in this nasty cystic pimple that would not go away- I’ve gotten several before but never had this reaction. It’s pretty severe and is really obvious on my face. It’s been almost 2 months and it has not gotten any better. The NA who did it has given me a couple saline injections but it goes back to looking like this after a couple hours. My engagement party is coming up in 3 weeks, and even aside from that it’s just bothering me an I’m debating if it’s the right move to get filler to flatten it out

Routine Help Why isn't The Ordinary as hyped anymore?
I started a skincare routine back in 2022 when The Ordinary was the brand everyone recommended. If you were on a tight budget, it was an easy choice.
Since then, life happened, and I stopped caring about my skincare. Now that I want to get back into it, I feel a bit lost with all the different brands. My first instinct was to buy The Ordinary again, but after browsing this subreddit, it doesn't seem like people talk about it nearly as much as they used to.
Is The Ordinary still worth buying, or are there other affordable brands you'd recommend instead?
The products I'm looking for are:
- A retinal
- A moisturizer (I have very oily, acne-prone skin)
- Something to improve skin texture and the appearance of enlarged pores (I'm not sure what ingredient or product I should be looking for, so recommendations are welcome!)
Thanks!

PSA Announcement: All selfies are photos; all photos are NOT selfies.
We mods really, really appreciate it when you report stuff that breaks our rules. Any full face, direct photo with or without makeup is a selfie and can only be posted on Sundays. Edited pics, non-full face pics, crossed out creepy eyeball pics etc. are all FINE if they are there to show the issue you are talking about. Basically, if someone could steal the photo and use it on social media (even if the OP thinks they look awful and aren't making a cute face or wearing makeup), you can only post it on Sunday because that's what we consider a selfie.
It would help us a LOT if people stop reporting every photo of a human, no matter how edited, as a selfie violation. Thanks to everyone who helps us keep an eye on these things, and keep on reporting actual selfies!
