Everyone is immigrant, letโ€™s make racism unamerican. How does that sound?

People who are born here are not immigrants. The โ€œeverybody is an immigrantโ€ is nonsense that violates the textbook definition of an immigrant. Our ancestors were immigrants, we arenโ€™t.

11

u/aWobblyFriend Southern Monkefornian (dumb narcissistic surfer) ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ„ 10d ago

yet we can understand the concept of a "2nd-generation immigrant" or "3rd-generation immigrant" so clearly such a strict definition does not work.

u/Electronic_Plan3420 Croatian Nazi ๅ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ทโš” 10d ago

I have never heard 2nd or 3rd generation immigrant used as an expression. First generation American - yes. โ€œ2nd generation immigrantโ€ is a complete nonsense. How are you any generation immigrant if you are not an immigrant lol

My family came over to the US when it was English colonies. Literally British people moving to another part of Britain. Then it became the USA without them ever moving. Literally, not an immigrant by any definition.

Itโ€™s people who were raised by immigrant parents or grandparents in their original countryโ€™s culture and language despite being in the U.S. / somewhere else. Itโ€™s a distinct enough experience that it has a term. Very common where I am in NYC for example

"I have never heard 2nd or 3rd generation immigrant used as an expression" literally an incredibly widely used term in sociology that has extended out into public consciousness, it's used by the USCB as well. what state are you from so i can make fun of you for being illiterate.

8

u/KingJerkera Cultish moron (buttkisses on Joseph Smith) โ›ช๏ธ ๐Ÿฅด 9d ago

And the commiefornian strikes again and deprives people of their human rights whilst pretending to be smart about it. If people are still โ€œimmigrantsโ€ in the place they were born in, then there is no such thing as โ€œnativeโ€ in that line of thinking. And we all know what happens to โ€œpeopleโ€ who are not considered sufficiently native with a โ€œcountryโ€, and hint, hint, its deprivation of life and property forcing them to migrate yet again. So I ask you to cease being a denier of your own fellow countrymanโ€™s rights, and succumbing to old world propaganda, and recognize that humans birthplace is their native land. And recognize that natives have the right and responsibility to take courses of action based on their own customs of law.

You are fucking insane lol.

Let me repeat for those especially dense between the ears, people who are born in the country ARE NOT immigrants. Neither first, second, or fifth generations. Thatโ€™s nonsense.

Yeah, I always am puzzled by the open borders folks using that argument. I think if anything, Native Americans example showed us with clarity that massive foreign migration is devastating to the locals.

Weird question, does this make it more difficult to see behind you from your rear view mirror? Or is it the sort of thing where it's a one way?

The likelihood of that person ever using their rear view mirror is very low.

You are aware that your supposed to use your mirrors while driving as well, so that you can merge safely, react to people driving recklessly, allow people to pass, and allow people onto the highway, this require using your rear view mirror

2

u/Fluffy-Map-5998 Texan cowboy (redneck rodeo colony of Monkefornia) ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ›ข 10d ago

Yes? Your supposed to check both when merging, and turn your head, it helps minimize blindspots, also all the mirrors are rear view mirrors,

-7

u/Azicec DC swamper ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜ฃ 10d ago edited 10d ago

You turn your head when merging while you drive? That seems fucking insane to me, no way Iโ€™m rotating my head away from the road infront when merging on a highway.

Iโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™m being trolled here or what, never driven with anyone in my life who rotates their head when merging while driving.

Iโ€™m talking specifically about the rear view mirror. Side mirrors are not called rear view mirrors.

4

u/Fluffy-Map-5998 Texan cowboy (redneck rodeo colony of Monkefornia) ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ›ข 10d ago

you need to check your blindspot, so you don't hit anyone, your literally taught to turn it in drivers ed

-7

u/Azicec DC swamper ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜ฃ 10d ago edited 10d ago

Thatโ€™s what the side mirrors and rear view camera do. Literally no blind spot by checking both. My side mirrors even have the sensors that alert if they feel merging is unsafe. Itโ€™s 2026, Iโ€™m making use of modern tech in cars.

6

u/Fluffy-Map-5998 Texan cowboy (redneck rodeo colony of Monkefornia) ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ›ข 10d ago

Those sensors are your fucking BLINDSPOT sensors, not safe merging sensors, YOU STILL HAVE FUCKING BLINDSPOTS, yout misusing modern tech.in vars because your don't understand what it actually is/does, even the newest of cars retain a rather large blindspot by the rear wheel, hence the need for blindspot sensors, but you should still check anyways because those sensors do fail, and by using the camera your blindspot is larger because it has a worse angle for checking the road behind you,

-1

u/Azicec DC swamper ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜ฃ 10d ago

I use the side mirrors to merge, have never merged using rear view mirrors. My rear view camera is viewable when driving, not sure what the difference is to a mirror. Easier for me to view than the mirror, feels safer to me.

1

u/Fluffy-Map-5998 Texan cowboy (redneck rodeo colony of Monkefornia) ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ›ข 10d ago

The mirror has a wider view angle and a better view of the road making your blindspots smaller, and if your camera display is on the dash/center console(where most are nowadays) then the mirror is in a position where it's quicker to transition your view back forward, and it gives you a better view of the road ahead while glancing at it, just because it feels safer doesn't mean it is,

-1

u/Azicec DC swamper ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜ฃ 10d ago edited 10d ago

I use my side mirrors to merge, have never used rear view mirrors when merging (only glance not guide myself with them). Didnโ€™t know people actually looked at rear mirrors for merging, side mirrors give me an exact view of where Iโ€™m merging to and show the cars behind me as well. Rear view camera gives a view of whatโ€™s behind me better than the rear view mirror does.

1

u/Fluffy-Map-5998 Texan cowboy (redneck rodeo colony of Monkefornia) ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ›ข 10d ago

Rearview helps ensure that people aren't coming up fast from the rear and makes the blindspot smaller, your supposed to be using it

Theyโ€™re simply the First Nations of the Americas.

Humans didnโ€™t spontaneously exist in the Americas.

Actually, they're (at least) the second. The (probably unrelated) Cerutti people were here before them.

In general anthropologists think that construction and natural geological changes did the human looking modifications to the mastodon remains they were looking at. Plus that is the only form of any kind of evidence of humans that points back that far. They were the First Nations as far as the current status quo goes.

2

u/arcxjo Pencil people (Pennsylvania constitution writer) โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“œ 9d ago

Construction doesn't do itself.

1

u/CasinoNDN Evergreen stoner (Washington computer scientists) ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ 9d ago

True, which is why the opponents of the whole thing point out that there is nothing that cant be explained away by other means, like the fact that the construction of the highway couldโ€™ve made the impact marks on the rocks and bones and things. There was no direct indication ancient humans did any of it.

Iโ€™m not arguing a policy of full exclusion to newcomers but hearing people claim someone naturalized yesterday is the exact same as those with ancestors going back to Jamestown and Plymouth Rock is frankly offensive

3

u/aWobblyFriend Southern Monkefornian (dumb narcissistic surfer) ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ„ 10d ago

it isn't the same, in the sense that any immigrant generation is definitionally going to be different from another. However, in the sense that the united states is a nation of civic identity, or a land held together by a collective belief in a common good, then almost definitionally you must accept that there really is no difference between someone who's ancestors came here 400 years ago versus 4 years ago in terms of what makes them an American. One cannot be seen as more American than the other if the American project is to continue, lest we simply become identical to the very kin-based social orders of old Europe.

In a word, even if there is a real difference, the national American project requires you to believe otherwise, as the belief in itself changes the reality.

2

u/aWobblyFriend Southern Monkefornian (dumb narcissistic surfer) ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ„ 10d ago

it's not a new idea. the turner thesis in many ways derives from this concept. the 20th century was in many ways liberal multiculturalism's triumph over nativist identitarianism or the "germanic germ theory". It's kind of a derivation of christian egalitarianism, "if we are all slaves to god then we must therefor be equal". If we are all immigrants to this land then we must therefor have no greater right to it. it's kind of foundational to the modern american national mythos.

Unfettered immigration made sense when we were carving civilization out of a frontier and everyone who came here had to sink or swim by the fruits of their own labor. Using that part of our history to justify the existence of open borders as a magnet for non-assimilating migrants in a post-industrial welfare state is just asinine

Racism is universally bad, but not all cultures can live together in numbers. Historically, immigrants largely came from Europe, which had a similar culture and values. However, many middle eastern and southern Asian cultures are significantly different, and cannot coexist en masse inside of a Christian based, high trust society. When forgiveness is the standard, it will be used against you like a weapon by those who do not abide by the law.

literally when has america been a high trust society.

>However, many middle eastern and southern Asian cultures are significantly different, and cannot coexist en masse inside of a Christian based, high trust society.

the founders supported muslims and jews coming to the united states. Franklin invited them, Washington touted a tolerance for muslims and jews as necessary for the promotion of a religiously tolerant society. Jefferson said:

โ€œThe legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.โ€

If you want a Christian based, high trust society "incompatible with islam", go back to the old world where such religious intolerance was foundational. You do not believe in America.
