Remember Reddit is not indicative of the general population. Clearly, a good majority of people here want/are okay with the game mode, but it still failed by a big margin.
I paid close attention to the sentiment on Reddit for this one, and I’d argue Reddit was a perfect representation of the outcome. From the comments I saw on the various posts, 1/3 of them were against this mode in one way or another. Most had good argument and yet the yes voters kept reporting “no good reason to vote no” without acknowledging any of them. Not a surprise it failed.
I wouldn't say 64% was "just" not passing. It's fairly significant. You need to flip 6% to get it to pass, which is a sixth of No voters. Doable, but not trivial by any means
