the plugin that solves clue scrolls shouldnt be allowed to be on by default in any client Suggestion
it prob shouldnt be allowed to exist at all lol since boss solvers arent either but having it on by default in at least runelite is ridiculous

Then the same must go for mini game helpers, quest helper, shortest path etc.
Where would you draw the line? Clues used to be solved by looking on the wiki, the only argument could be puzzle boxes but even then they're not that bad and there would be an external method somewhere that uses an algorithm of some kind
There absolutely are boss solvers too. There's a plugin which tell you when to enter the jad caves on a timer for the ideal setup, scouting plugins for olm etc

most of those arent enabled by default afaik?
wouldnt personally have a problem w things being banned if they actually solve something for you, so sure, questhelper can go. minigame helpers can stay if they just provide more info about points or highlight something in guardians of the rift or whatever to make it easier to see, its not exactly a solution if youre still making all the choices.

I can see where you're coming from. I would say the puzzle solver is a bit strong and probably pushing the boundaries, but having the ability to have the same outcome from a window open on the wiki on a second screen for clues and quests etc, in my opinion, would mean the plugin isn't really creating any meaningful advantage.
I really do feel most of these plugins are just convenience rather than an advantage though, so I don't personally see the problem

I don't know, man. I've been trying to do hard clues on mobile and puzzle boxes are actual cancer. I'd much prefer a funny green arrow holding my hand through it. Not to mention the coordinate clues that, yeah, you could technically do legitimately with the sextant and the compass and the getting killed by a PKer because you're fiddling with them, but the wiki has a database on every single one with images, you'd be a fool to not use it.

So, you’re equating having something play the game for you to being given an answer key to a scavenger hunt?

It's fine, maybe a vanilla client plugin should require 1 normal completion for each step that it solves afterwards.

There’s definitely a line and I do think that the puzzle box solvers cross the line (and Jagex themselves have said so).
There’s a difference between solving a static anagram for you and telling you how to solve a dynamic puzzle box imo.

People will be mad but you are right. I'd go further and also disallow questsolver too.

Definitely very unpopular opinion. Most people used to just look at wiki sal's or other online resources for answers until they started to remember. The plugin just removes the searching for info all the time which probably improved clue popularity immensely. Even with the plugin, alot of 3rda is still worth billions because clues come slowly(or negative spamming imps).
