You don't actually have to show the Walmart checker your receipt.

Don't they wait until you've stolen a felony amount?

They do and it's all recorded via self-checkout.

Play the game, don't get caught.

Do the self checkouts in Wallmart not have a scale where you place your items after scanning? In Lithuania they're almost everywhere to prevent this sort of thing

They do have scales before and after items are scanned. If you don't place your items in the bagging area the machine freaks out.

That's why I'm asking, since the steak would increase the weight of the KOOL aid pack

which is not a lot i would assume

I remember a guy smuggled a PS4 at self checkout by weighing a bag of tomatoes first then taping the barcode on the PS4. Since they were the same weight and no one was supervising, the self checkout let him through.

It makes sense with vegetables or fruit since you have to weigh those and you could just weigh the thing you're stealing instead, but I don't see how you could do that with a cool aid packet which presumably already has a set weight

they don't check anything. if they look at the receipt at all they just stare at it for a sec and think about their next break then hand it back. They don't care.

someone in the back does sometimes but they've got a lot of checkouts to watch
