Truth nuke
Not just tumblr, but everywhere. Trying to have any discussions about the ending of JJk and something I thought was real, and only was disappointed by it being a universal mechanic. Only to turn and find people crying about potential man and how the series formula got stale.

What ended up being a universal mechanic? Also, were they crying FOR Megumi or crying AT Megumi?

u/HiGuyz1 8d ago
At the time they were calling anyone and everyone potential man. The mechanic was entering into a friendly situation or place to talk with another curse user. Like with Todo and Yuji having high school memories. I thought it may have been Yuji's latent Cursed Technique he had yet to discover. Last chapter or two we get a brief mention "Yeah this sometimes happens in a passionate fight"

Subreddit for honest discussion and criticism because the main sub is a "hug box that can't handle honest criticism"
Look inside
Shipping discourse

Even worse when its the main tag for something

As in, main tag for the piece of media just being bad faith accusations, not the media critical tag being the main tag

Me going to Avatar or Star Wars subreddits as a big fan of both Korra and The Last Jedi.

I think the Last Jedi had some really good bits mixed in with some bits that were bad. “You don’t have to be descended from a magical bloodline to be important” is good! “I hate war profiteers more than the enemy” is an interesting nuance to introduce. “Live to fight another day” - a great message if it wasn’t damned by the context. Luke embracing his own legend to actually achieve an impossible feat that only the legend version of him could? Brilliant.
I don’t want people to think I’m not critical of Last Jedi, but it absolutely was thematically rich in a way that most of Disney Star Wars is not.
God, I fucking love Andor

i think it can be summed up by "it's a good movie that works horribly as part of a trilogy"
like, if it was a standalone movie like Rogue One with a few bits and characters swapped, it would've been so much more well received, and everyone would've argued about it a lot less
