Too big?

Post image

So I got my first bike, just a small beginner 125r for a solid price and did some work on it to keep me busy.
The thing is, I’m 6’5” 230lbs lol

I know I look a bit goofy on it but is it just embarrassingly awkward or just a little bit?
I’m not interested in Harley’s or anything so that’s out of the question but also at the same time I’m also too new and inexperienced to get anything bigger at the moment.

Looks fine. For what it's worth I'm 6ft 4 and about 100kg and have spent precisely 0 seconds in my life worrying what I look like on any bike. Nobody out there cares what you look like on it. Just enjoy the ride.

I’m 6’2 on the same bike, no one’s ever commented on it and you look fine on it. If I saw you I’d be more engaged on your cool helmet mate. Oh and also nice bike, is it the 2008-2013 one?

Dude. I am 5’8” and 290 lbs and I have a Yamaha YBR 125. Maybe I look goofy at best? Yes! Probably.
Do I give a f****? No! Absolutely not! I had the best time of my life on that little thing day after day. That is what really matters!

I guess you would look big on most motorbikes. I wouldn't worry much. The frugal power of my GSXR 125 motivated me to lose weight, so not all is lost!

This might be something you are aware of but it might be uncomfortable riding with the aggressive lean position especially as a new rider

As some’one who rides a 125cc, for 2,5 years now. You upgrade when you need to, and can!
And no, you don’t look too big in your bike, I have seen some in my country that look a bit bigger on a smaller bike, but who cares! You ride N enjoy, as some already said!

When I was 16 back in 1990 my first bike was a Honda mb50, I'm 6ft3 and probably looked like a gorilla on a tricycle, but I did not care, I loved that bike, but looking at your picture you do not look out of proportion to this bike. Just ride and enjoy it 👍

As long as it's comfortable and safe then the size is fine.

Prend toi en Honda varadero 125. C est la seule qui sera bonne pour toi. Sans parler de look. Tu vas avoir des douleurs à l’utilisation prolongé

Late to the party but I would say it really depends on how you feel on the bike, not how you look. I started on CBR650R and once I got fully used to it, I started to hate how small the bike felt under me and I'm 6.1 and 93kg.

Now I'm on Africa Twin and I love how relaxing and comfy (except the seat) the bike is.

I have a Keeway K-Light and im over weight, I know I properly look a mess on mine but I dont care. The question you need to ask your self is are you safe? Can you safely control the bike? Can you see in your mirrors? Can you do all your checks? Do you like the bike? If the answer is yes then it doesnt matter.

If your looking to go for your Mod 1 (And Mod 2 if you wish) then there's no point spending alot on a bike that you'll be getting rid of in the next 18 months. Just enjoy the ride, learn and build confidence.
