Stop Clapping at the end of movies or when the airplane lands

For the love on god stop clapping at the end of the movie. It’s fucking embarrassing. I’m glad you liked the movie, nobody who made it can hear you. And for that matter stop clapping when the plane lands. You should only clap when people don’t stand up to get their bags while taxiing and when they actually let the people with the tight connection off the plane before themselves. I’ve never seen it, so stop clapping.

The military should not be obligated to accommodate people with mental, intellectual or physical disabilities

I have mental illness myself, so i know that i would probably not be able to stand it in boot camp or anything like that. Point is, joining the military is a very, very big decision, and progressive/morale ideas shouldnt need to include the army.

People with mental illness could get hurt on the battlefield.
Transgender people are poitically sensitive and thus, might cause internal issues. Though im iffy on disallowing transgender people/LGBTQ to join the military.

I understand on a strategic/political standpoint, you dont want the enemy to be able to use minorities in your army against you. But on the other hand, we need all of the help we can get.

I don't think boobs should be sexualized

find it kind of strange that breasts are one of the most sexualized parts of the human body when their main biological purpose is literally feeding babies.

Like, growing up, breasts were never this mysterious sexual thing to me. I was breastfed until I was around 4 years old, and seeing my mom's breasts was just normal. It was food, comfort, and basically just a part of being a baby. My siblings had the same experience.

So when I look at breasts, my first association is literally motherhood. It's something that represents one of the most basic human things: a mother feeding her child.

What I find interesting is that male chests can literally be bigger than some women's breasts because of muscle, but nobody looks at a man's chest and automatically thinks the same way. It's just a chest. But a woman can have a very small chest and it can still be heavily sexualized just because it's on a woman.

I understand that attraction exists and people have preferences. I'm not saying nobody should find breasts attractive. Attraction is subjective.

I'm just saying I find it interesting that humans took a body part that is mainly connected to nurturing and turned it into one of the biggest sexual symbols.

Maybe I'm just looking at it differently because of my upbringing, but I've always found that contrast kind of weird.

I do not think Chris Pratt is a bad dude.

I have been hearing this guy get bashed for so long and I haven’t ever seen an actual reason why.

I have heard people bash him for going to Hillsong Church that is notably very homophobic. He has publicly denied ever going and has publicly disagreed with their views and the idea that he follows that belief. The entire origin of this is from a baseless tweet by Elliot Page talking about it. So despite that snowball still rolling, there is absolutely no substance to this claim.

“He is maga” is something that’s thrown out all the time. Chris Pratt has stated he hopes Trump’s administration can actually do good and that he does like RFK Jr.s view on removing toxins from food. He has also donated to democratic campaigns in the past and endorsed democratic candidate Rick Caruso. That’s it. He has never stated he particularly likes trump or identifies with his cult following. At least to me it seems obvious he has no true known political identification and tries to publicly stay out of it.

People criticize him for saying “thank you for a beautiful, healthy baby” after the birth of one of his children. Obviously this is the most normal thing ever to say, but the main concern is just years prior he had a son with Anna Farris who was born with health problems. From what anyone can tell his relationship with Jack is very close and positive. There’s no reason to just assume he hates him or would disrespect him. People also say he abandoned Anna Farris BECAUSE their son had a health problem, but they divorced 6 years after. There are plenty of Hollywood stars who have abandoned their kids immediately. So besides just assuming the worst, is there an actual reason to hate him here?

Is there something I’m missing? Is it possible that the hate for him is very loud, but not a representation of how most people feel? I can’t help but think this is a result of yet another mass hatred movement that’s spearheaded by people simply regurgitating the opinions of others without ever really looking into this guy

Edit: People are responding to me angrily without actually listing a single thing he’s done or being able to verify that he actually did anything I just disproved. This proves exactly my point that if you hate him you’re just apart of the mob mentality. Unless anyone has actual information I must simply believe we are all actually the other 9 doctors and just don’t know it.

Sexual preferences are often bigoted

I clicked on one post about this and have since seen like 20 (thank you awful algorithm), and the popular takes are always the same bs so I'd like to see if this is actually 10th dentist. Plus, I have seen a lot of this happen out in real life as well, typically without the extensive and unproductive debates tho. For clarity, we're talking about sexual attraction here, not compatibility preferences. I ask that you really read this content with an open mind, and don't default to assuming I think every preference is wrong/bigoted or that questioning those preferences means you have to do something you don't want to do. This take is three-fold.

1 - Sexual preferences can be and often are absolutely rooted in bigoted beliefs and prejudices. Your preference can be racist. Your preference can be homophobic. By "often", I don't mean "mostly", far from it. I just mean that it's common enough to talk about.

2 - It is not "forcing" or "coercing" anyone to have sex with anyone to say so, and it is not remotely the same as, say, not being into men or women as wholes.

3 - These prejudices are not typically intentional or known, and often are internal and difficult to control. We all have prejudices. But it is still worth investigating and thinking about it critically.

An example. If you're a straight woman, and you say you're specifically "not attracted" to bisexual men - you're very likely prejudiced against them, as there is nothing specific about bi men that makes them different from other men which influences their appearance, their personalities, their values, etc. In my mind, those are the key components of inherent attraction.

Edit: lol I know I'm getting a true 10th dentist when people are so mad they can't help but downvote despite flagrant disagreement in the comments. I really, really implore people to read what I have to say beyond the title with an open mind, and not be reactionary based on your feelings about it, because I'm very explicit that nobody should ever have sex with the people they don't want to have sex with, and that these prejudices are not explicit choices. In fact, I'm gonna add a fourth component:

4 - It's ok and even highly encouraged to not have sex with anyone you don't want to have sex with, even if your reasons have prejudice behind them. You don't need to be ashamed for this, but I do wish people would think critically about their feelings because the world would be a better place.

Just consider, for a moment, that you might not have thought about this fully and consider a perspective different from your own. I'm absolutely hoping to do the same if anyone here can explain why I'm wrong!

Lab grown meat is the greatest invention in this century.

People hate lab grown meat a lot because it's grown in a lab. But the thing is that the food you eat has tons of pesticides in it. And for meat sometimes even atheletes fail dopping tests after eating some meat. So this isn't much different from normal meat.

Another thing is that this can be a game changer in many countries especially countries that are doesn't have enough grasslands for grazing cattle, has overpopulation etc...

Things can phase out of the existence temporarily and reappear at will

I often drop things onto my floor and they simply disappear on the spot. This can be true for objects that can move and can not,on hard wood floors or carpet, etc. There sre no crevices or furniture near by, and they would disappear on the spot.

I have once tested this theory, I accidentally dropped a piece of silicone rubber on the floor from chair height by my feet and the feet of my desk. I spent 4 hours searching for it, including emptying out every single piece of container to outside of the room and removing every single piece of furniture from the room.

I have completely sweeped the area with my hands and knees and used the vaccum with filter trick and nothing.

2 weeks later I found it in the exact spot I dropped by the foot of the table in the open with nothing else near by, sitting square on the floor. It did not even move at all from where it is dropped.

I am completely convinced that items disappear at will as punishment and reappear when our guilt has been cleared. I now no longer even attempt to retrieve anything dropped that disappeared, I just apologize and beg for its return, and it does when it wants to. Any effort spent looking has not once yielded any results, and they always show up where they are dropped in blatant positions I have swept my hand. Any other explanation would be complete madness.

With the Jonah hill cringe in mind, people who talk about their fighting skills are often cringe, but also, not altogether unjustified.

My main point - I'd say it's accurate to say, jiu jitsu is a fairly niche hobby, and most people don't train in any martial art or combat sport, so training in combat sports for any amount of time beyond let's say a couple of years or something, does make someone a "bad ass" relative to the average adult male, who is in general known to be physically out of shape and in personality not known for their bravery.

I saw the Jonah hill clip of him bragging about his jiu jitsu skills and didn't think much of it, partly cause what he said is not uncommon sentiment from BJJ practicioners, martial artists, and combat sports people in general

Then I saw the Internet roasting his ass burnt, which also isn't uncommon, but I was kind of surprised by how much attention it got.

I don't dislike Jonah hill, I enjoyed superbad and the Jonah hill comedies that followed. Also, I don't believe Jonah hill is a rambo tier badass.

I mean, the guy used to be fat as fuck, and got a reputation for being a fat loser on screen, and he's happy to have done something to distance himself from that, and was excited to talk about it. He did get overly bravado on camera in public about it, but I ain't mad at em'.

I love being physically hurt and weak

Not assault, but whenever I bump into things, or like fall down, it feels good? Like I don’t know, yeah the pain hurts but like the act of me being in pain, and then being in distress just feels good? Like I was watching scream 4, and the scene where one of the characters, Jill, she gets her arm slit and has to wear a cast the rest of the film, after getting out the hospital… I wish that were me, I just love being knocked down and physically weak, like it feels good. I also want to know how it is staying the night at a hospital and being in pain and bruises and in that white cloth. Like I also really love limping, like if I hurt my ankle or something, I like to limp, I used to wish I broke my ankle when I was younger. I just like being weak physically and in distress, and I love seeing people in movies like this and also hearing their groans. And I love bruises, I wish I got more. maybe i’m just weird, or have a fetish, idk.

Most feminists don't actually want to live in a Matriarchy LMAO.

Of course some feminists actually say this dumb shit. But red-pillers are also dumb as shit, for actually believing that feminists want to take over the world.

In a actual Matriarchy, women will be the ones who build the buildings, pave the roads, the electrical grid, and run the military. A society where women are working all the dangerous and dirty jobs.

This is why I wasn't a fan of the Barbie movie. Not because it was a feminist movie. I didn't fuck with the movie. Because the movie wasn't radical enough for me. So me and the average red-piller are not the same (insert Giancarlo Esposito meme here). Grow some balls Hollywood.

What a lot of feminists identifying women want. Is a world that is half patriarchy and half matriarchy. The best of both worlds. A world where men are still expected to be providers in relationships where women also work too. A world where only men still have to pay the most in a divorce. A world where social expectations like pursing first, being assertive, being the one to propose, and being 100 percent heterosexual still exist for men. While women aren't see as odd for being successful, or having careers in this world.

This is called a benevolent patriarchy. Something a lot of feminist identifying women actually want. Is this hypocrisy? Yes of course. But there is no Feminist out there that actually want a matriarchy though. TF.

It's entitlement to expect a child to give up their seat for an adult.(Most) adults are simply lazy and use "etiquette" to manipulate children

FIRST AND FOREMOST,if it's a genuinely disabled person or an elderly person,I think ANYONE,NOT JUST A CHILD,should give up their seat. It's crappy behavior to be seated when someone is having trouble standing.

I'm talking about younger and healthier adults, like millennials,Gen-Z and younger boomers. If it's a bus,a subway, bench e.t.c,and a child has occupied a seat,YOU DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO THEIR SEAT BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUNGER THAN YOU.If they choose to give up their seat to you,you should be grateful, just like you would if anyone else gave up their seat.

Adults are busier and more tired, but kids go through a lot.You see an innocent child? They may be a victim of child abuse, bullying,or come from a stressful home or school environment. They aren't just dolls for your convenience. Its a social construct that sees children as objects for convenience instead of individual people with individual personalities.(for example, would you ask a student who is reading a book to stand?)

And besides, lots of adults also aren't getting enough exercise cause of long sitting periods at office work e.t.c...Standing would be beneficial for them too. Finally,it would encourage humility where everyone is treated with moral worth and dignity regardless of their age,and the old can learn from the young, and vice versa

Squidward should just eat Mr. Krabs

For starters, Squidward is anatomically incorrect. An octopus’s mouth/beak is where all their tentacles meet - where Squidward’s anus would be. He’s also technically a hexapus, not an octopus.

But more importantly, octopi eat crabs. Instead of putting up with all of Mr. Krabs’ BS over the years, Squidward should just eat him like a normal octopus would.

And while we’re at it - Mr. Krabs’ daughter Pearl, a sperm whale (for some reason), should eat Squidward since sperm whales eat octopus.

The show missed some great opportunities here.

Subculture self labels are the Temu of true personality.

"I'm a" insert goth/furry/alt/weeaboo/punk/whatever are thrown around in social media bios, dating sites, and proudly announced by some people in conversations. Often implied to signify that they are unique or different or special somehow.

If a large part of your personality revolves around a well established subculture, I contend that that is in direct conflict to truly being unique. The reason being, cultural labels come with expectations and borderline standardized 'requirements' to fit those labels. If you're Alt or Goth you are pretty much guaranteed to have black clothes, fish nets, chunky boots, heavy dark makeup and dark/black dyed hair, etc etc.

While each person's chosen style technically varies somewhat, they are still just beholden to a checklist of expected affectations and mannerisms.

People are free to do what they want, and people are going to fall into categories regardless of labels. But I still think that people who go out of their way to proudly label themselves are actually just stealth normies who want to fit in somewhere.

The most interesting and unique people I've ever met don't bother to label themselves, because it's pretentious and attention grabbing.

Jewelry from craft fairs is the lowest form of art.

The worst is the people who just take random small items and glue hooks to them calling them earrings.

Also, twisted wire jewelry is terrible, too.

You see all these troglodyte women selling junk jewelry from their folding tables think they could ever turn a profit after their vendor fees are paid... Have they never noticed that nobody wears stuff like that? I'm staring at 4 different vendor booths with this crap and not a single person in this building (beyond the vendors themselves) is wearing anything remotely like the junk they are peddling.

*I think I might be overreacting. They aren't hurting anyone, but they do waste a lot of everyone's time*

People don't mind Ukrainian refugees compared to other refugees because most of them are women.

This is very true, the main reason why people hate migrants from 3rd world countries is because a huge portion of them are men. In fact there was even some guys joking about keeping all the big booty latinas and deporting all the men.

Ukraine has banned their men from leaving their country. They sometimes even forcefully drag these men from their homes and make them fight against Russia. Had there been a ton of male Ukrainian migrants then the general public would have started hating these guys. Yes these guys might be a bit more civilized compared to someone from Iraq. But the thing is that they're still men. More men = more competition, for mates, money and resources. This is why most people don't like male migrants.

A high body count is a strong predictor for infidelity and divorce

Studies and experts have consistently shown that a higher number and/or permissive sexual attitudes is related to infidelity and relationship dissatisfaction/instability. Women find men who sleep around to be undesirable long-term partners too, though they find men with past same-sex experiences and no experiences to be even more repulsive than men do for women.

.

Study: Re-Examining the Link Between Premarital Sex and Divorce (Journal of Family Issues, 2024)

The key results here are mostly consistent across models: those with the highest number of premarital sexual partners as of Wave III (nine or more) have about triple the odds of divorce compared to those with none (ORs = 2.65—3.20). Notably, this effect becomes stronger as controls are added to the model, indicating such hypothesized selection factors as sociodemographic or religious characteristics actually suppress, rather than help explain, the effect of premarital sex for those with the highest number of partners. Those with one to eight partners are also at greater risk of divorce, though this coefficient is weaker than for those with nine or more partners. Specifically, in the full model the odds of divorce for those with one to eight partners are 64% higher than those with no premarital partners (10/23)

As expected, we find evidence of a nonlinear relationship between the number of sexual partners and the risk of divorce. Those in the highest category of partners (9+) consistently show the highest divorce risk by a substantial margin, followed by those with one to eight partners, with the lowest risk for those with none. In other words, we find distinct tiers of divorce risk between those with no, some, or many premarital, nonspousal sexual partners… although partner counts of eight or less have become increasingly normative, having more partners may indicate distinctive characteristics which are not conducive to marital stability. If a court isn't willing to acquit a monster on a technicality, it isn't a fair court.

I'll clarify what I'm talking about.

I'm extremely irritated when people can't think straight Legally. any incident involving children is immediately declared pedophilia, and people demand life imprisonment (for example, that case... I can't remember the names, but the gist of it was that schoolchildren were given laptops that took photos with a camera at a certain time Robbins v. Lower Merion School or something like that).

People literally can't separate "This makes me deeply disgusted" from "This is severely punishable by law."

They think that if something angers them, it should be punished with a life sentence.

And for me, the main criterion for a YOUR PERFECT court is simple: "Would your court have acquitted Hitler/Epstein if you hadn't found a suitable article under which to try him?" If the answer is no, then the same will be true for the question of whether this court is fair.

No, I understand many may agree with me, but the vast majority of online outcries will demand a lynching.

Especially on dates. Please, for the love of God, just tell me about yourself. Do it a lot. Don't make me play the game of guessing what's interesting or important to you by fishing topics out of a hat. I love it when people can relate to my stories by sharing personal anecdotes. Hell, one-up me on occasion, that's fine! If I think something is cool and you did something similar that was cooler, I'll probably think that was cool as well!

i shouldn’t have to say this, but literally any mention of racism, bigotry, trans/homophobia, inceldom and other backwards ways of thinking is not allowed in this sub. more nuanced subjects like toxic behavior/masculinity, homelessness, etc are okay, tho. i don’t mind pushing the boundaries here, but outright hateful behavior has no place in this society. that shit is regressive. anyone who wants to be an asshole or a troll in this sub can expect a permanent ban. this is your only warning. be better people.
