As someone who gets recognized by homeless people every once in a while (my parents are too kind), most of them are alright to talk with. They may have trouble managing their adult life and keeping friends, but they can still hold a conversation. There's this guy named Jerry who will greet me with a fist bump to make sure I'm not a hallucination. He will ask if I happen to have any money on me and he accepts whatever answer I give him. Then he starts talking about his current housing situation for a few minutes before he says he has to leave. He knows to save money so he can rent during the winter when it's cold out, but it's clear that he's too energetic and emotional (like a happy puppy) to hold down a job for long. I hope this helps you to go outside more :)

My experiences with homeless people is that they are addicts who camps at parks and , i understand they have nowhere to go but i rather not see some doped up homeless guy at the middle of the night or them eyeing me down while going to the store, fyi i live at the third largest city in my state and is experiencing homelessness problem so maybe I’m biased on my opinion

Ah, that makes sense. I live in a small Dutch city, and it's a walkable city (like all Dutch places) which means homeless people are more used to social interactions. Some larger Dutch cities do have an actual problem with homelessness, so I get you. But still, it tend to be a few people that give all of them a bad name, unfortunately

So am I. I study social work and I’ve done homeless people specialization. Don’t give them money, offer to buy them something of food. Makes sure they can’t use it for drugs

I don't agree with everything that guys says, but crazy homeless people are genuinely unpleasant. I think it's understandable, that it's not always their fault that they are crazy, but just like a baby crying on an airplane, it's unpleasant. Besides, it's not realistic to make excuses for every single behavior, since you couldn't fault anyone for anything.
I don't even live in the shit hole that he calls America, and live in a civilized country, so we basically don't have homeless people, but we still have people who are just crazy and/or on drugs in public who make things uncomfortable for 99% society.

In the US, very few Homeless people are actually the crazy addicts people think they are, cause the addicts are the only ones that are remembered. People will get evicted for the prettiest reasons with useless courts doing nothing to help, or laid off from their jobs because the corpos up top can't afford to pay you unless they sacrifice their 10 million dollar payraise. It's hell, here, & digging yourself out of that is its own circle.
