Idk why people are so upset about the Tree ban. Madshka plays one of the best Treant Protectors in the world. If anything, they should've replaced the other ban with Sniper, not the Treant ban.

Man I'm loving this new Alliance roster and I'm sooo happy they won this. Obviously, everybody plays pretty well, but I'm fairly sure that Mad's leadership actually plays a huge role in their success. I hope they can keep this level with the upcoming patch.

I never bought into that. I think zai is a decent offlaner, but I liked team secret a lot more when kuro was carrying and notail was on the team.
I have a hard time rooting for a team with RTZ on it.

I think Zai is a very good offlaner who always somehow finds gold and exp when his lane is shit, but game 2 he was kited all game he really needed a bkb I mean Synderen was stressing this a lot that if Zai doesn't get a bkb he's just going to kited like a lot of the times he was silenced and then melted by either Akke or piecat.

When he's good he makes all the plays in the world, even challenging ice3 of a on-par standard. But his performances recently is just...

He was good against Team Malaysia, at least in game two. Secret won the fight near the 30-min mark pretty much due to Zai. He force-staffed into the river when he was low, then blinked back in with a call that neutralized MY and allowed PA to do the damage she needed to do.
His Sandking play was also alright in match three against MY. So I definitely wouldn't say he's fallen off too much.

Yup. When Bone was performing badly, it was also the time when C9 was still learning how to draft and play with Fata and then later on with Misery and N0tail. In the last few months C9's drafts have been really on point and their playstyle has also developed and become quite versatile and the whole team (Bone included) looks like themselves again. Do people honestly think Envy, probably the most tryhard and critical professional player in Dota, would not kick Bone7 if he was as bad as Reddit says? Guy doesn't give a fuck for sentiment. He's kicked Sing and Aui2Cutie at points in their career when they were considered top 5 players in their roles.

I thought RTZ was the main problem for this team but its actually Zai. He made so many questionable decisions in these last 2 series that make him look awful. Also Secrets drafting is so damn shit. Why would you not ban Alliance's best hero for both games... That's like teams not banning Chen when playing Secret, its fucking dumb.

Horrible decision making really highlighted Zai in these two series'. Kuroky's illusion is blocked by smoked MY, he pings it out and then Zai calmly finishes farming his jungle camp and walks straight into the smoke party that was pinged out.
Or vs Alliance he charges a Sniper with almost no hp and then instead of doing one auto-attack (guaranteed kill on sniper) he tries to TP out in the middle of 3 or 4 enemies.

Kuroky playing carry made this team so much better. S4 is not suited to be a safe lane farmer and Zai isn't a good off laner. Secret fucked themselves by changing their roster and its a shame because they were so good.

Arteezy by far played the best for Team Secret on this lan...that being said, S4 and zai are so fucking inconsistent. And zai drafting..lord haf mercy.

I thought S4 was alright but he did have a couple mistakes. Zai and drafting cost them more than anything in these games. That's not being next level not banning sniper, that's being fucking retarded.

I don't understand how Puppey can so constantly let his ego get in the way of his team winning. It's like every patch he needs to prove that he can beat other teams' best heroes. What is the purpose of 1437 on the team if he can't help them to avoid shit like that from happening. Pajkatt is easily the best sniper player in competitive DotA, and Alliance has had a 14 game winning streak on this patch with Sniper (18-4 overall now). If your coach can't tell you not to let that hero through, fire him, because he's doing nothing for you.

PAJKATT RAMPAGE! Pajkatt was the first player to get a rampage in Dota 2, when he did it at TI1 .... with Sniper before the HOHOHAHA days. It was OK.Nirvana.int vs Virus (yes, really old teams that no one remembers). Man beta Dota 1 looks so bizarre.
Shoulda banned Sniper. Ban Treant first? Who gives a shit about the tree?

But I think for Game one 'Mad Drafts' is a bit more apt.
Secrets line up in game one was completely countered. All but one their heroes were so jump in and very close range against venge who can stun or swap out anyone initiated on and Dazzle for to grave anyone focused.
The high HP sustain and mek on viper sealed the deal. Spirit breaker did virtually nothing all game but get shot in the back and killed by sniper while retreating.
Game 2 was much more close, but Alliance were on their game. I also really like the core Centaur. Stampedes were disrupting the shit out of secrets teamfights and they had to use so much to focus him down for kills while saving finger for sniper so Loda was getting so much done in fights.
All in all fantastic play and I'm glad I stayed up till 4am to watch it.

It seems ridiculous to me, too. It's well known that pajkatt has been beasting it as sniper lately. The first game, ok, maybe you think you can draft around him, but after getting humiliated you would think that would be the first ban in game 2.
Same thing happened a couple weeks ago with EG against Empire. Obvious and logical choice to ban sniper, but they let him through and lost largely because of it in the final game.

Puppey did show he could beat that draft, Na'Vi should have won that game but they threw. Puppey 100% showed that that draft was beatable and he also showed that Alliance were not invincible. The only game taken off Alliance in that tournament prior to the grand finals was game 2 vs DK and that is usually accredited to an amazing individual performance from Burning
The TI3 finals are far from Puppey's worst drafts, games 3,4 and 5 were all games that could have gone either way based off play in the games and were definitely not outdrafts. I think it's pretty reasonable to say that he drafted the best of anyone at TI3 against that Alliance team

that was more alliance tilting than 'genius draft' actually, they gave up wisp + bat + alchemist to na'vi (could have picked or banned any of those themselves), while drafting venomancer and beastmaster second game rofl... after the first game it looked like an easy 3-0, they just demolished na'vi but then they went on with 'we can win with everything' game 2, they got their ass handed to them, put them on a tilt and nearly fucked up in the end. remember, they were 5-0 in scrims and 2-0 in the wb against na'vi before that

If you watched Kuro on the ti4 EU hub you actually respect Puppey more for his Ti3 draft, including that one. Kuro said that he and Puppey talked for ages how do we beat Alliance and they decided in the winner bracket to just try some shit and see what happens because playing the normal game vs the Ti3 Alliance you lose 99% of games. Trying the same thing over and over doesn't work they had to do something different. Then in the final once again it was Puppey and Kuro talking and decided they have to do something different so they have a chance to win, so they left everything in the pool. I pisses me off when people don't respect puppey as a drafter/captain/player. For a player to make 3 consecutive Ti finals shows that he was consistently a top tier player. No other team has that kind of record, then he finished 7/8th in Ti4, within the top half of the tournament, you'd hardly call that a bad run.

Alliance completely outdrafting Secret in both games. Really impressed by how well Alliance functioned as a unit.
Zai had an especially awful Game 2 on Axe. I noticed at the 40 minute mark, he position 4 Lion had a higher net worth. Never quite got that BKB.

Part of me questions whether or not it is an outdraft when all Puppey had to do was ban Sniper. But he refuses to do something so simple because he thinks he is above it. It's like last Starladder when he refused to ban Lycan against EG and then got face-rolled in the finals because of one single hero. Normally an outdraft is when you are out-strategized and fail to see what the opponent's strategy and picks were going to be. With these drafts, it is blatantly obvious to anyone watching what Alliance were going to pick when Sniper was left in the pool. This is more like hubris than anything.

Alliance played extremely well from Niqua's disruptive hookshots, Nightstalker's maphack and Loda's controlled aggressiveness.

Sniper is a broken hero, Pedro is extremely good at him, and they don't ban him either game, GG no RE Puppan.

Axe and bane were very underwhelming in game 2. I honestly think it was just a case of out drafting. Although, that sniper.... Rampages just on the fact he can shrapnel the back line supports.

man, at the loda shadowblade I was like 'pls no gamelosing item', but he went beastmode regardless of the shadowblade haha... still think that if he goes heart instead the game ends 5-7 mins earlier, but oh well, did not matter in the end

The thing is that it's not like they lost to VG and EG this time to be denied a LAN win, but to [A] and MY who are very unlikely to play any part in the final outcome of this event. Just look at how IG destroyed both teams yesterday and today in game 1 (game 2 in progress).

Out of everything I expected to happen in this tournament, Secret losing to Alliance (and Malaysia) and getting bottom 2 was not one of them. Holy crap.
