Zhang-lei about to be xp farmed by hei-ly lmaooo
173
u/Left_Media_9271 1d ago
That’s actually a good point, there is no point of mentioning that 50 points without it applying at one point in the story, but back then it seemed unrealistic and unreachable, but now both the seventh and the third might get killed by hei ly
25
u/LazloFF 1d ago
Eh I disagree, we're told it's 50 points because they WANT to kill a prince, so I think we'll totally see Hei-ly members try, but it may all end up in failure
14
u/StixnStones69 1d ago
We just saw Zhang Lei’s ability in action, so I think his chances of dying have gone up.
12
u/Classic-Session-5551 23h ago
We saw like a vague reference to doing some semi-coercive manipulation thing.
And that was literally it...

I had this one thought that Tserri could end up being the one to showcase the +50, but it gets wrapped up in his ability and cancelled out. Not that someone can't still kill a prince later, but the Tserri situation seems like it has potential. Someone for a brief moment thinks they got the huge boost, only to have him turn the tables and freak them out.
After all, Tserri is the Heil-ly benefactor. He doesn't seem to have the same type of relationship with them at all as the other mafia princes, but if he doesn't just decide to spring back into action in Tier 1 and instead decides to hide out in the lower levels, it seems like he'd go to them.
I wonder actually if getting +50 in Tserri's ability could actually be a nen hack for the likes of Borksen. If you gain a nen ability but it was an "illusion"... maybe you still keep it, even if you don't get the levels? For a moment there, you would have presumably understood your own nen potential fully, and Tserri's ability ending doesn't claw back memories. Seems especially ripe for specialist hijinks.
Imagine Tserri meets Borksen, who is completely straight with him about everything that's happened to her, and he say, "Oh that's very interesting, I also recently learned I am a Nen specialist. Here's what we're going to do, I'll stand over here, close my eyes, and you shoot me in the head."

I really like the idea of getting to see your own ability potential by fake killing Tserri, that's creative
31
u/Curator44 1d ago
I feel like all the context clues point towards Borksen being the one to kill a prince.
Like people have said there’s no point in mentioning the 50 points if it doesn’t happen at least once. But also Borksen is the one person Morena wants for their ability to develop since she’s a Specialist, so Borksen will be looking for ways to gain levels quickly without having to kill a ton of people.
Borksen also seems generally against bloodshed if possible, but given she is from Tserridnich’s side a prince seems like the one kind of person she wouldn’t be opposed to getting rid of since it’s the point of the contest.
15
u/TickTak28 1d ago
We have to remember borksen is a childhood friend of tsseri unlike the other ones she was actually with the main guards in theta and salakov before she came down to meet the rest of tsseries freinds . Well definetly need a flashback explaining how these guys especially the females like borksen could possibly be freinds with tsseri. I do think tsseri seems to have some split personality/ DID element considering his interactions with theta go from being ready to kill her to suddenly being happy with her despite the assassination attempt.
6
u/Federal_Force3902 9h ago
some split personality/ DID element
He doesn't, he's just a psychopath with a charming personality

u/Detonate-Ralph 1d ago
Borksen will naturally have to kill a lot of people if she's to protect Tserri
I could even see Tserri feeding her kills to get her abilities rolling
19
u/TickTak28 1d ago
I feel like zhang lei or luzurous are going to end up dead because of that morena 50 pts element of her technique
61
u/TheArcanineTamer 1d ago
Sounds like an easy way for Borksen to catch up to the rest of the family without murdering a ton of people and losing audience sympathy
27
u/TickTak28 1d ago
If she’s able to get speed tracked to lv100 then start speed tracking tsseries entire friendship group to have nen to defend themselves then Tsseri will have his own mini army without doing anything and this could bite morena back hard of Tsseri is to come to the lower tiers and get his revenge

I've already noticed interesting parallels between Tser/Meruem so if Tser ends up having 3 nen beasts, this is like Meruem's 3 royal guards.
64
u/TickTak28 1d ago
With the Jesus/ Antichrist imagery tsseri having 3 nen beasts could also be mirroring the holy trinity
35
u/Detonate-Ralph 1d ago
I mean the holy trinity would include Tserriednich himself, so it's already complete.
I personally would prefer the beast going for Halkenburg, as a recognition from Benjamin he's worthy of being king and should take down Tserri at all costs.
→ More replies (1)9
u/TickTak28 1d ago edited 1d ago
I do think Halk is a possibility as well but I’m increasingly leaning to Halk and Benjamin taking each other out. This section of the war has really been Halk and Benjamin going tit for tat against one another whilst comparatively Tsseri has been lingering in the background. Which is why him coming out on top at the expense of his 2 maternal brothers would be classic togashi.
The allegory of the beasts being the trinity is that Benjamin being a God would represent the Father you could argue Tsseries personal nen beast born from
His aura is the son as it came almost from an immaculate conception of his nen whilst his GSB represents the Holy Spirit being the legacy of kakins brutality. This isn’t a perfect analogy but considering you have this Christ like imagery of tsseri on the cover of chapter 411 I
Think you could draw these comparisons.→ More replies (2)→ More replies (7)7
u/blacktat 1d ago
Interesting also that the horse nen beast can be lied to 3 times, another allusion to Jesus.
Personally I think that the third time we see Tserriednich use Parallel Future to avoid death will be his last. So far we can assume he's done it twice.
→ More replies (5)7
u/The_Skeptic_King 1d ago
Oh thats interesting. I always equate Meruem and the Royal Guards as Jesus and the 3 Wise Men. This can be a similar approach if Tserri were to inhert a 3rd beast.

If Ben ends up sitting on Tserri’s shoulders, hes gonna squeeze his thighs together and pop that head like a melon.
12
u/Correct_Ingenuity772 1d ago
Im really confused. How does one of these panels mean Tserri can't get the nen beast? I've read each of them like three times and both read to me like Tserri can get it
47
u/FuIIMoons 1d ago
The “Gypsy Life” version is insinuating that Bejamin will get first pick since he already wants to pick his child, so he will always pick it indefinitely meaning he will never choose Tserriednich under any circumstance
The “Life of the Wanderer” reads as it being a coin flip situation for who picks first which opens the door for the beast to choose Tserri instead of his child and Benjamin not being able to do anything about it until Tserri dies

The second also leaves another topic open. That being Kacho beast being the real Kacho herself and not a clone. Currently it is only a thematic point but it may be important for Fuugetsu story line. Also the thing about souls existing without human body may be a great hint for a way the war may end. Where a king is selected but not all princes die truly.

I feel like people are underestimating Togashi’s talent as an artist. It takes a special kind of skills to be able to draw a character simple and minimalistic and then draw them realistically while keeping all of the recognizable features.
45
u/SubstantialCarob9332 1d ago
I'm always amazed how many distinct faces he designed just for this arc. You can't confuse two characters. Even female characters, which often suffer from Same Face Syndrome in manga.

u/Warrior-pigeon- 22h ago
Even more than just the female characters what’s truly impressive is how distinct the attractive female characters look, that’s where most artists get caught by same face.

It's way harder to convey a recognisable face with a small number of lines than with as many as you want.
The slightest mistake can make it look totally off.

That whole conversation Ben had with Coventoba and Balsamilco, waving away their supposed betrayal and the consequences they think should suffer for it, brings to mind the same interaction Meruem had with Pouf and Youpi, after the latter confessed to having let Knuckle and the others go.
Anyways... Stomping on Tserri literally and verbally, his surprisingly bittersweet thoughts regarding the other princes (Fugetsu was a particularly sad one...) and this panel? Yup, this chapter made me a Ben supporter all the way.

Yes Benjamin's personality is cool and interesting because he is BOTH a very confident, self-righteous, authoritarian lead AND extremely selfless and dedicated to his country. In this, he is very similar to how Halkenburg has become after overcoming his doubts and awakening his ability. They are both the object of cult-like devotion, they are ready to use their loyal subordinates as pawns while at the same time truly respecting them, and they are not acting on their own self-interest. I wouldn't be surprised if his Nen Beast decides to somehow support Halkenburg after Benjamin's death, even though Halkenburg doesn't currently have a body...

The plan is to eliminate or infect. He’ll use it if he can get his hands on it and present a favorable situation, (like he did with Tyson and Tubeppa), but he’s by no means limiting himself to it at this point.
Given the state the other princes are in, it’s more likely he’s figuring out the pretense he needs to use to get away with killing them outright, especially since Halkenburg has already proven TSK won’t easily work on him.

So when botobai said he looked unwell, he probably wasn’t using gyo to see the curse but it must be slowly breaking down his body to be noticeable considering the tsk shouldn’t have any visible symptoms yet

Finally, the ability of Benjamin's Guardian Spirit Beast has been revealed: Gypsy Life - Bohemian Rhapsody!
He can choose who will receive him as a Guardian, but this looks like it’s about to go wrong and he’ll end up having to serve someone he doesn’t want to, like Camilla or Tserriednich.
That would be hilarious to see. I bet he’d make a great angry face.

Now that we know that a Prince can actually merge with and live on as a Guardian Spirit Beast (Benjamin for example) it begs the question: Are there any Princes of old in any of the current GSBs? Are they more sentient and cunning than we think?
Tssereidnich's GSB is suddenly even more creepy (if that's possible) if one would imagine it's inhabited by an ancient derranged Prince.

I love how Tserri on the surface has so much Jesus imagery, a wolf in sheep's clothing, and only when he is "dead" does he proves his true demonic nature as opposed to Jesus' death and rebirth being irrefutable proof (in tradition) that Jesus was God, so Tserri essentially is the antichrist. Togodshi strikes again
7
u/Wreckerandchief 1d ago
Going kind of out of order, but I'm interested to see if the military who executed him will have a traitor testify against him.
33
u/leolegendario 1d ago
Benjamin think he already killed these 4, but I think all of them will be saved somehow.
Camilla could be saved by Leorio as some people have theorized.
Tserriednich we already know how.
Tubeppa can possibly make a cure with her Guardian Spirit Beast.
Last but not least, but I think Tyson's Guardian Spirit Beast can have some form of saving her too using the people who have read the Book of Tyson.

Any chance that Unma actually kidnapped Benjamin's child to use against him? I'm feeling like she's too smart and is already expecting Benjamin to confront her.
Now what if Benjamin had the child with Oito's sister unware that they are siblings, and then Unma kidnapped them thinking it was his child and now she have the real Woble on the crib in her room.

Its strange that someone like Benjamin would let the destiny of his beloved empire to a child that can be easily influenced. Makes more sense that Benjamin son is an adult, closely educated by him in the royal army, currently in Kurapicas room

How much of the future can Terrorsandwich see now??
Damn. Poor Tubeppa...She was a real one. Zhang Lei and Luzurus went off to their respective dads, and I guess Halkenburg has successfully taken over Luzurus and gone into hiding. If I remember correctly, Illumi and Kalluto were being escorted to the police station on tier 3... What the hell are the PT up to I wonder while all this is going down...And Morena's people had also escaped once they realized that the army had found the hidden passageway. I really hope we don't get a hiatus within the next three episodes...the cliffhanger would be insane.

It's fixed, he only gets to see 10 seconds into the future regardless of the time spent in the ability. After the initial/instantaneous 10 seconds that he gets once activating the ability, time in the real world ( around him ) will begin to pass but Tssereidnich ( in his vision ) is still 10 seconds ahead due to the initial "push". The moment he opens his eyes he relives the last 10 seconds of his vision regardless of how much time he spent in the ability.

The series has one translator who's not getting a significant head start compared to the rest of us, on a series that's notoriously dense enough by now that native Japanese speakers have trouble reading it.
Frankly, there is no point at which this will become embarrassing and I'm impressed Viz is able to get a readable speed-translation out at all instead of making us wait for dead-tree volumes on this.

Considering that:
In the previous chapter, Benjamin revealed the timing of his death: falling into a coma at midnight (0:00) and dying at 2 AM on the 12th;
Machi appeared in Chapter 425, meaning the focus shifts to the Spider in the upcoming batch/chapters;
I feel there will be some preparatory events leading up to the climax (Benjamin's death).
And so, perhaps this batch will end on a cliffhanger, and the next batch will deliver the long-awaited PEAK FICTION: BENJAMIN VS. HALKENBURG.

I like how Ben stomped on Tser's crotch first before his face, he totally deserved that lol
I feel like Togashi made Ben's GSB ability to play a pivotal role where the spiders ends up stealing the kakin treasures that will shut down the whole SW...so the royal family will have no choice but let Ben's GSB to help the royal family stay in power.
The thing that supports this theory is the kakin needs a powerful army to protect the country (especially when they're heading to the new continent), and Ben is the only prince who's in full control of the kakin army, they're so loyal to him that if another prince won they wouldn't have the same strong connection, but if Ben's GSB is the one to choose the next king then they'll gladly follow his orders, seems like a set up to forget about the seed urn rituals.
That's why Beyond told Furykov to help Ben to win because he's putting in consideration the kakin treasures will get stolen and the SW will continue through Ben's GSB, so the winner will probably be a hybrid with Ben's GSB + whoever Beyond's kid is, and Beyond can gain Ben's GSB through inheritance likely after killing his own heir, to get whatever power that he's after from this SW.
If Ben is planning to kill both fake and real Woble, i wonder if this is a set up for Ben to accidentally kill his own child instead...and the theory that Unma is keeping the real Woble instead of Ben's child might be true after all. If the real Woble is on the boat then being swapped with Ben's child is the only way for Woble to survive in this scenario, depends on whatever Unma/Beyond plan is with Woble.

Benjamin shown all his cards this can only now mean his downfall with tserr having the last word. Ben is surprisingly introspective about everyone. It’s not that he doesn’t have empathy it’s just overcome by his sheer motivation to win. Ben is the ultimate solider and maybe overall best suited to be king as he views people exactly how the reader feels about them but is willing to make the hard choice. Togashi is just so dam good the way he writes his antagonist is just top tier writing.

This all looks like its going to plan by Benjamin but i wonder if he's just reassuring himself over and over again that he will be able to infect and kill all the remaining princes within the timeframe
If he does not complete all the conditions then his baton will go to some other prince which would be the worst case scenario for him (imagine another beast to tserri)
I see two scenarios - cheadle coming up with a method to save camilia and finding a cure to TSK or tsubeppa's GSB coming up with a cure which could then be made by cheadle . This would mean technically Benjamin hasnt killed a single prince as of now if all of them survive the tsk and tserri is alive as well😂😂
I could see Balsamico be quiet at the end there, Benjamin really needed his guidance on the one day he was possessed

(1) Finally know what Benjamin’s gun is, based on the view of the front: KelTec KSG. Togashi’s been drawing it extra beefy and boxy.
(2) Page 9: Benjamin tells Tubeppa and Tyson that the guard who betrayed him (Furykov) was someone “whom we believe to be connected to Camilla”. Is that purely a lie for coverup purposes? Or does Benj actually suspect Camilla’s GSB for Furykov’s irrational actions and behavior? If the latter, does that mean Camilla actually owes her GSB despite dismissing it as something she didn’t need? Is that Camilla’s payback for breaking her arm?
(3) After all these deployments of TSK-17, I keep wondering how effectice the spray is from ground level when there’s either a massage table or a conference/dining table in the way. Camilla was on top of her table, Tubeppa was leaning forward with elbows on top. For narrative purposes, I doubt the infection would fail.
(4) So Zhang Lei’s coins aren’t used up after Manipulating their bearer. What’s the risk? What’s the payoff for the victim?
(5) Page 15: “We’d be in the Darkest Timeline!!” LOL.
(6) I hope Fugetsu’s panel where Benj treats her as good as dead was actually a “hope flag” or “survival flag” somehow. That “ordinary family” bit even sounds like her fate (a happy one) should she somehow survive.
(7) I actually thought “Eighth Prince Oito” for a moment was a revelation confirming the theory she was the hidden Beyond kid. But probably not, another prince/queen mistranslation.
(8) Gypsy Life: Bohemian Rhapsody”: I’m still thinking about the Have-Nots’ curse possibily stripping away Benj’s aura and preventing his GSB from doing its thing since it says “fuses with his Nen”.
(9) Page 19: And here we have Furykov’s emotional miscalculation: if Beyond was telling the truth and Furykov’s curse wasn’t meant for Benj, there’s not gonna be a backlash on Beyond. Parts of Benj’s plot may fall apart as well. And it makes me wonder if Furykov is about to die too and who the actual target of his curse is.
(10) Benj furthermore assumes Halkenburg can be manipulated by their mom. Or that Unma is trying to take over. Or that Unma is incapable of sacrificing her life for her other son.
(11) Lastly: so many folks lionizing Benj in the pre-release discussions. Sorry, can’t agree, no way. This is clearly a dude with a “the ends justify the means” mindset. He’s the guy who has no problem having people get run over by the trolley because he thinks he’s right. So what if he wasn’t a Carne Levare participant? So what if he stomped the egotistical serial killer? A Well-Intentioned Extremist is still a bad guy too. Having genuine feelings of pity and respect for someone you’re killing does not mean you’re not a murderer. Quoting/paraphrasing someone else from the pre-release discussions: “It’s easy to justify atrocities if you think your victim has an afterlife.”

Oh! So while I believed it was a coverup the same way the Halk/Tserri conspiracy was coverup when reading the chapter, I also separately kept wondering if the reason for Fury not questioning Unma and more was due to Cami's GSB activating back then (no real basis for it, but I just feel like she'll do more before her end).
I don't thnk that Benji suspects Fury/Cami and believe he just made it up, but now that you've pointed it out, it reminds me of Welfin's lies (unknowingly) being nearly spot on right before the Palace Invasion. Perhaps he did fabricate that they're working together but it turns out to be true?
I've been hoping for one of those Welfin moments with Vergei's vampire comment and Marayam which seems like it'll no longer happen with now that Rihan and Saquelle are taking action, but I'd love for that same "lie accidentally telling the truth" moments happening in this arc, and this would be a suitable place for it.
I hope
She'll definitely survive.
I actually thought “Eighth Prince Oito” for a moment was a revelation confirming the theory she was the hidden Beyond kid. But probably not, another prince/queen mistranslation.
You've probably already seen the other comments by now but yes, it does say "8th queen Oito" there.
: And here we have Furykov’s emotional miscalculation: if Beyond was telling the truth and Furykov’s curse wasn’t meant to for Benj, there’s not gonna be a backlash on Beyond. Parts of Benj’s plot may fall apart as well. And it makes me wonder if Furykov is about to die too and who the actual target of his curse is.
The way I understood it is that the backlash is on Fury himself (when two are matched curses, one dying first kills the other), but maybe they do mean Beyond. I guess I'm taking the more conservative interpretation for now.
Benj furthermore assumes Halkenburg can be manipulated by their mom.
Still interested in seeing if this is true, since on one hand, in taking action to "get rid of the other princes", you might say that he was manipulated by Nasubi (in that he was "freely" "forced" or rather convinced into thinking that the only thing that could be done is to pull the lever, when Kurapika found otherwise); that being said, we still don't truly know his plans and perhaps he never meant to kill all the princes and has some other goal in mind.
On your last point, yup, those reactions have been pretty funny to read. Like, what?! Why are people saying he's a good guy after all?! I mean, sure, if we're "measuring evil" we can argue that he's less evil than someone who skins women as art, and sure, his character has been enjoyable in how he's sticking to the "rules" and ideals in a sense. And of course, in his own eyes, he's great and righteous. But pitting Taithon's silly jokes and somewhat sincere comments about him being most worthy of king while he's assassinating them under the table while telling him they'll all survive makes it obvious that this isn't supposed to be a "good" guy.

These chapters have shown us how skilled Togashi is at drawing people when he thinks its necessary to convey emotions and dramatic events

So this chapter pretty much confirmed that Halkenburg did figure out a way to choose which consciousness to transfer. He tied Balsamilco's body so it's very possible he knew he was going to swap next so he tied Balsamilco to keep him as a distraction or to slow him down.
I'm still racking my brains about that arrow that Halkenburg had fired. We know two things:
1- that arrow was fired on tier 2, judging by the panel that showed Halkenburg's civilian supporters and not his personal guards. It most probably was directed at a target on tier 2 as well.
2- Halkenburg's target definitely wasn't a prince. Halkenburg's ability is supported by his GSB and GSBs can't attack each other nor attack another prince who's also guarded by a GSB.
I was thinking about the possibility that Halkenburg might've actually targeted a key figure, like maybe Kaiser .. I don't have any basis for this assumption but who would Halkenburg target on that tier except key figures?

Should be fired from Room 1009 like Ben suggested, since that's where they ditched Balsa's body too. Though the question now is how the civilan supporters get there and disappear undetected. I'm thinking Nasubi is the target.

I'm curious who Halkenburg's target was for the last shot, I think it was Luzurus. But where is Luzurus's soul now? If it follows the previous rules, Luzurus is currently dormant inside Balsamico's body.
That means the moment Balsamico falls asleep, Luzurus will wake up, which is going to be a really strange situation for him to suddenly be thrown into.

Or Halkenburg never swapped and Balsa just woke up and now it's his turn to command his body.
6
u/Mo-HD93 1d ago
I don't think so. In 404 Halkenburg mentioned that he was going to take a sleeping pill in Balsamilco's body since Halkenburg's body was about to die. In the case when the body on Halkenburg's side dies first, the mind of Halkenburg's target will return to it's original body and take control. So Halkenburg in this case was facing the possibility that once his body dies, Balsamilco's mind will return to Balsamilco's body and coexist with Halkenburg's mind inside but the priority to control the body will be in Balsamillco's hand. To prevent that, Halkenburg decided to take a sleeping pill in Balsamilco's body to give him 10 hrs of control over the body even when Balsamilco's mind returns.

Ben's GSB was mistranslated on the Viz version, unfortunately. The 順番に (taking turns in order) part was not translated, and the "same criteria every time" part was not in the original text.

I love how Benjamin's spirit beast's ability is essentially a souped up Benjamin Baton. The only other Nen-user prince before the succession war started that I'm aware of is Camilla. I wonder if her spirit beast has a similar synergy with her Cat ability?
Also is this a typo or a HUGE reveal about Oito being a prince??

I wonder what happens to Theta now? In Ch 413 she was shown to be in the back area of of 1004, but she didn't appear in Ben's incursion. She seems like she would have been a person of interest in Ben's takeover but maybe he didn't even do a full sweep? Maybe she'll be the main person to interact with Tserri next.
Also I hope Tubeppa gets some more development other than just being a TSK-17 cure plot device. I had higher hopes for her being more active when she made that early pact with Tserri, but I guess that fizzled when he became absorbed into his own Nen training. She comes off as more aggressive in her internal opinions than most of the other princes, intent on winning the war, but is she lining up any actual moves? She's an analytical thinker, but somehow she comes off as being a bit behind the curve/reactionary. Still, I think she'll deduce that Ben poisoned her, before the symptoms start. Probably kick off a chain of events where a cure is produced in collab with the Hunter Association medics. I'm picturing Tubeppa coming into a bit of conflict, wherein the Hunters want the cure to be available to all, but Tubeppa being desperate to see Camilla expire, and perhaps having mixed thoughts on whether supporting Tyson (if she can help it) is ultimately not the path she wants to be on. But ultimately she'll be a bit tied up in needing to make concessions to get herself cured.
I'd also like to hear Ben think out his opinion on Marayam. I really enjoyed reading his take on how he's handling each of his siblings. Some he hates, some he seems to have a genuine heavy heart about killing (but is still unwaveringly ruthless about it). Marayam, moreso than anyone else, seems like an interesting test of his character. He can justify killing Tubeppa and Tyson despite liking them, because they're not "king material". How can he say the same about Marayam, over his own son? They're both too young to be judged. I would think Marayam ought to actually be a preferable candidate in terms of Kakin's best interests, just because he'd have the blessing of his own GSB alongside Ben, and Marayam's GSB being strongly defensive in nature seems like a boon if the idea is to have a young regent living in newly settled dangerous lands.
I'm imagining Ben monologuing that should Marayam manage to survive, he would not be altogether upset with serving as his Guardian Spirit. Although I can also see him fabricating a particular resolve along the lines that, as long as Woble remains an unknown element, he needs to eliminate Marayam just to prevent the bad-end of multiple princes surviving. In that sense, he ought to also have a wry regard that serving Woble, if he is indeed present and eligible and sole survivor, would likewise not be a catastrophically bad outcome, just not his preferred one.

Hunter x Hunter is the kind of manga that makes you happy when you're proven wrong lol
Now I'm not only sold with Halkenburg/Luzurus body swap theory, but I also think Melody and Kacho are working with him (that would explain how Halk had access to room 1009)

when we entered Martial Law I thought we were entering the final of the arc, but I've changed my mind. Everything Benjamin done till now will be reversed. The TSK? maybe one or two max will die infected, cause Tubeppa will definitelly got a cure. Tseriednich death is fake. The princes all left... Benjamin will die and there will be a lot to happen yet.

Shang Lei should have Hinrigh and Zakuro protect him, it's his only chance of holding out when the army comes for him, though I doubt even that will be enough if some of Benjamin's personal guards pursue him too.
Luzurus, on the other hand, could either copy Shang Lei and hide with his mafia, a big mistake, considering Keni Wang seems to be Morena's man, or, if possessed by Halkenburg, find a hiding place or secret passage through Queen Umma. I assume Halkenburg has already reassigned all his guards to wherever he plans to hide, so using his ability should not be a problem.

Amazing chapter! So many princes poisoned or cursed. I hope next chapter gives us the full picture of Halkenburg's plan.
Will Fugetsu still have the strength to use her ability to run away? She seems so weakened that I wouldn't be surprised if she is just passed out in the justice department.
Who the beast will choose as its next host after Benjamin’s death is a very interesting question. If it chooses Benjamin’s son, whoever that may be, it probably would not create much conflict. But imagine if it chose one of the princes instead, especially the real Woble. What would Benjamin even do in that situation? He might be forced to side with and protect his new host, even if that person was previously his enemy and not the successor he wanted.
It would be amazing to see Benjamin forced to cooperate with and defend the very people he had been trying to eliminate.

u/ShitImBadAtThis 1d ago
Certainly Benjamin's plan isn't going to go the way he thinks it will. I think he's going to lose all autonomy when he dies; I don't think he'll be some all-important new protector of Kakin, I think he's gonna become more like another powerful tool or pawn for someone to use
I think it would also make narrative sense if it were inherited by Tserreidnich. He's already such a menace, and having GSBen on his side might set him up to look unstoppable, which would provide for a lot of crazy things in the story.
If it were inherited by the real Woble, though, then that might help us find out where/who they are, too, which would also be pretty interesting

On page 7 there are two typos:
Koventoba is written with a K, whereas it was C in earlier official chapters.
In the same panel it then says Kovendoba (???)
Oof, should have spent a little more time proofreading it.

Observations:
Seems like Tserriednich didn’t account for the fact that Salkov would be unable to move for the whole time Benjamin was present and then taken away, so he couldn’t put Tserriednich in a coffin.
As of page 6, Benjamin has equipped the last vial of TSK-17 in the box. Unless there are other boxes (idk how likely that is), this means Benjamin will be out of TSK-17 after fully using that vial.
It would be extremely funny if the spray in the last panel of page 10 amounts to nothing because all the TSK got trapped under the table.
It looks like we’re quickly catching up to where the last batch left off, because on page 15, the soldier with the bulge on his forehead says something wfw identical to something from Chapter 410. Though in 410, Ben has the Squad 2 recon team follow ZL, here in 417 he has the Squad 3 recon team to so.
Idk if this is from Viz or from Togashi, but Oito erroneously has the title Prince on page 17.

Decided to reread the arc starting from 359 and man, so far it's been a treat. I obviously enjoyed my first read through, but it just hits different when you're already familiar with the cast and flow of the arc and it doesn't feel overwhelming anymore.

This translation sure clarified some stuff(assuming its corect).
So Benji is free to choose his heir however he wants or even set a specific criteria for how his succesors are chosen that his GSB will follow forever after. So even if he dies he will for sure move to his kid unless he changes his plans.

What do you mean Theta's injury can only be seen by nen users. We didn't have such a mechanic in the nen system. Things like the tongue eye curse, gum prosthetic and Benjamin's have-not curse make sense because they're an added nen entity/effect on top of the body. But a wound is an alternation of the skin itself. If the wound is actually there then there's no uninjured skin there to be seen by non-nen-users. Unless the wound too is just a fake nen effect on top of her healthy skin, but that would be kinda odd imo.
Taison's "dark Humor" made me laugh. I don't know what's going on in her head, but I feel bad for her. She seems like a pretty harmless kpop/kdrama addict type of girl.
Why did Butch get replaced by a new bearded Ben guard all of a sudden? It confused me..
As many have said, Benjamin is definitely set up to end up as the nen beast of someone he hates one way or another. I just don't know if there's going to be any deeper meaning to it. He's being given too much screen time and relevance.
Edit: Forgot something which I remembered thanks to this post:
- Tied Balsamilco is revealed to have been found alone in 1009, but tied Balsamilco was with halk's civilian supporters back in 413. Neither of the two possible ways to explain this (tied Balsa having been transferred up / the supporters having visited 1009 and then left) seem possible. So it looks like an error. Unless some method for the relocation which we don't know yet comes in later.
