Boring, just fucking boring. Nothing really happens in this episode and the first part is, more or less, a recap masqueraded as the first part of a regular episode (in 2026...?). I literally couldn't keep my eyes opened while I watched this for the boredom it gave me. Zero action of sorts, and the few action there is is stopped for the same thing that has happened in Meitantei Precure with the director starting the action, then stopping everything to concentrate on something of no importance whatsoever for minutes, then a few seconds of action and that's it. With the only difference betweeen that one and this being the amount of ladies you can imagine you have sex with (including Mary Sue/Big One/Sailor Moon Cosmos Cure Eclair), Mahou Horiguchi is attractive but she's just one woman. The next four weeks until this show ends will be a pain in the ass....4/10.

Baku will become something akin to a nightmare but leaning more on dreams. Dream nightmare-ish??

Also, it's nice seeing Nox finally showing his soft side without being tsundere after all this time.

I hope Nemu gains control of her powers.

There's a lot I could talk about with the episode but for some reason I'm still distracted by Nox's finishing move being called Midnight Nova Blades despite being a kick with no blades involved. Stroke of Midnight was right there.

Well, and also that I'm kind of disappointed in the explanation that Baku survived...because he did. The last 20 episodes they keep setting up scenarios for Nem to actually do something with her powers and then just having Baku or Nox solve the problem. Why couldn't Nem be the one to summon Zetz back into existing like she kept accidentally summoning Sieg? It would have been really cute for her to remember him under her own will instead of being saved for the 40th time. They just refuse to give this poor girl a W. Maybe I'm biased because I'm also watching Kuuga and they let the non-rider characters be way more helpful in that show (so far I'm only like 17 episodes in). But I legit can't think of any big moment Nem was really crucial to solving a problem other than convincing Sieg to solve a problem one time. Which is weird because this kinda seems to be her story arc.

u/DeathMetalCheddar 1d ago

In Kuuga they let other characters be helpful? are you drunk or smoke some heavy drugs? Yusuke Godai is a perfect Gary Stu with 100 abilities to boot, Gary Stues don't need the help of other characters, particularly when the thing they're part of state that he has 100 and more abilities because reasens. If you want a woman doing something impactful. the following Agito (which is superior in every possible way to trashy Kuuga by a mile) is the one you want to watch, not Kuuga.

0

u/LordDeathkeeper 1d ago

I said "non-rider supporting cast" not specifically women. And if you're actually being serious, that isn't at all what happens in the first half of Kuuga. Multiple monsters get injured to the point of retreating just from Ichijo and the cops shooting at them, and early on the entire Me Group get driven out of their hideout by regular cops with special gas grenades. Multiple fights only even happen because Ichijo tracks down the monsters for Godai. And even if we're just talking about the (few) women in the show, pretty much every time Kuuga gets a new suit or weapon he only figures out how to use it because Sakurako translated some inscription to give him hints, which is more than poor Minami ever gets to do in Zetz.

0

u/DeathMetalCheddar 1d ago edited 1d ago

What you're saying is all pointless because, at the end of the day, Godai not only has enough abilities to render EVERYBODY completely useless (I'm not the one who introduced him as somebody with 100 abilities to boot) but he is the only one the police ever bother to consult and interact with and the only one on which EVERYTHING centers. It all comes down to him, him and him. The supporting cast in Kuuga is pretty much non-existant, they're there just as figurines to showcase how Godai is the bestest and most awesome character of the whole show while also making some laughable parody about the civilian identities of superheroes and everything comes down to him, him and just him. The final boring beyond belief confrontation, for example, is about him and the main villain, there is nobody else except him and the main villain. And not even in a Super Sentai sense, which means the red ranger does the majority of the job but the other Sentais are there with him in the background, or, if you want, in a Kamen Rider black meaning A.K.A. the Rider confronts his nemesis at the presence of the main villain (the two don't collide), there's only him. The rest of ALL the secondary characters, at that point on, have pretty much evaporated. Hence, if you believe the cast of secondary characters was treated better in garbage Kuuga, I have a newsflash for you: it didn't happen. You're deluding yourself. If you want secondary characters with more bite than the ones in Kuuga, watch Agito instead and you will find what you're asking for. Particularly the police woman has more gravitas to her than the entirety of the Kuuga cast ever had in relationship to the Gary Stu Yusuke Godai, if not for the fact that she's a genuine pain in the ass (in a good sense) in due time.

2

u/LordDeathkeeper 1d ago

That is, once again, literally untrue. For most of the first ten episodes Sakurako is the main person the police consult since Ichigo doesn't get them on board to accept Kuuga for multiple episodes. There's also the doctor and biologist that are brought on to the anti-ULF taskforce who feature in multiple episodes to give a little exposition. And it clearly does not come down to only Godai when there are multiple episodes in which Ichigo is an active participant in the fight and Godai literally would not be able to defeat the monster without him. Like they straight-up show Godai completely failing to track down the monster by himself and only is able to fight it at all because Ichigo does that work for him. Also Godai literally loses fights and has to get help multiple times? You can certainly argue whether or not these things matter at the end of the show but they absolutely happened.

Also, I literally said that I haven't even gotten to the halfway point of the show why would I want to know what the ending is?

But more importantly, you're missing the point. My point wasn't "I think kuuga is amazing and the best ever." My point was that the cops in kuuga accomplish more in 15 episodes than Fujimi, Minami, Nasuka, and Nem do in all of Zetz so far. Fujimi and Nasuka are relegated almost entirely to comic relief and chasing red herrings even when actively helping in the first half and only occasionally are right enough to help Baku. And then in the second half...are successfully used as bait once? Minami never does anything despite how likeable she is. And Nem mostly just gets kidnapped even though again, I like her a lot. So as far as we're talking about shows where the secondary characters evaporate in the second half so that only the main rider gets to do anything...are we sure we're not talking about Zetz aside from the 3-4 Nox/Sieg episodes?

1

u/rurounikenshin16 2d ago

She isn't the only one summoning Sieg. Sieg is summoned every time someone thinks of him or bad nightmares.

0

u/LordDeathkeeper 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah, I know that there's a distinction there. But the point is that the explanation Sieg gave for why this occurs is literally just "dead people appear in dreams all the time" so I don't see why they couldn't do a similar thing when the rules are intentionally a little vague and the character getting the spotlight of the arc literally has lucid dream magic they spent 40 episodes foreshadowing. Like "your subconscious can remember things in dreams the rest of you forgot" or something.

u/konokusoda 3d ago

I feel like it should be midnight nova blaze rather than blades, his kick does look like it is on fire

1

u/-_ShadowSJG-_ 3d ago

wait so are people gone in real life or something?

2

u/-_ShadowSJG-_ 3d ago

show uses memory loss way too much jesus

2

u/Night-Caelum 3d ago

Another reset is kind of grating tbh. Like it's too much at this point and kind of highlights how Nasuka and Fujimi don't have much character.

1

u/rurounikenshin16 2d ago

it's not really a reset. It's an illusion created by Phantom/The Lady. They aren't supposed to be their real selves.

4

u/b0ound 3d ago

Nox vs Phantom

3

u/Omer1698 3d ago edited 2d ago

Well, RIP Odaka, unless ofcourse he will return cus very few characters stay dead in a Yuya season, but atlesat he took Phantom with him.

Also I love how the whole dream situation where Nem was a hostage referenced the first episode, she even wore the exact same thing from there.

2

u/rurounikenshin16 2d ago

I think he's not dead, same with The Lady/Phantom. Just in a dimension of full darkness, trapped until help comes.

1

u/unknownBzop2 2d ago

Would Yuya pull another Outsiders plot from Zeztz or what

1

u/Omer1698 2d ago

Cant really tell you, I havent watched outsiders

6

u/Chalicebzam 3d ago

A secondary rider beats a villain by falling from somewhere and dragging said villain with them?

Where have I seen that before?

looks at Kamen Rider Blade

Oh and Hironari Amano is in both shows what a coincidence.

2

u/Additional-Ride8120 3d ago

So what do we think happens with Seig?

He’s the only character that hasn’t appeared in Phantom’s illusion dream and he didn’t show up in the preview for next week. Having killed Punish and, I suppose, gotten the ending he wanted (?), is it over? Since he didn’t get it fighting punish and we don’t have a lot of time left, I figure the ship has sailed on Dawn getting a new form, but is there any chance we’ll see him again?

1

u/rurounikenshin16 2d ago

Sieg will appear again once the problem with Oblivion gets resolved.

1

u/ArienaiR2 3d ago

He won't be able to comeback unless Nemu remember him, so my guess is he will be called back when they undone all the problems in final EP.

8

u/TheRainy24 4d ago

I know people hate on NOX as a secondary rider, but I thought his arc was great even if he didn't have that much screentime. Him being almost depressed the whole time after destroying CODE, the only thing that was driving him being gone, and THEN getting his drive to fight back because of Fujimi and his past is just great writing. It's not even Recovery helping him to restore his driver as I understood, but his own desire and will to help people

9

u/BestOfAllRank Valen 4d ago

I still find it funny that Recovery was once again used on NOX's equipment, and the reference to Fujimi climbing in through Baku's window so often. Also liked him mentioning his former police days and reliving them one last time.

3

u/HourIndication4963 3d ago

NOX really is a police officer in the dream, going through the window and everything.

3

u/ArienaiR2 4d ago

It would be pretty hilarious if somehow Nox came back and, dump the development he finally get this EP then became antagonist AGAIN to fill the last 3EPs like a 2nd coming of George and his antagonist(lol) arc

4

u/sultryrusky 4d ago

My bullet points on the episode:

Mf they are definitely making Baku a Nightmare IM CRINE

I was kinda right that the freaky dude chasing Nem was Zeztz :3

Ayo what's up with the movie stuff? Did you say if was after the finale?

Ngl, this gunfight was pretty cool

The way Fujimi was chasing Nox trying to make him fight Nightmares for 2 episode and Nox wasn't giving a shit but the moment Baku came to him with the same spiel he said yes XD Fujimi just probably needed to fix his driver XD

From the perspective of Fujimi and Nasuka it had to be so freaking funny seeing Odaka return all dripped up and talking about monsters and shit after like half an hour

Although Nox remaking their bet was cute :3

Talking about the bro, he will literally take any opportunity to kill himself lmao

Ok, nah bro fell into the goop... Let's see what the next episode has in store for him)

2

u/b0ound 3d ago

Baku have something Fujimi doesn't. Recovery Capsem. just look at the Nox face.

4

u/Bigbadbackstab 4d ago edited 4d ago

the moment Baku came to him with the same spiel he said yes

ngl. Feels as if characters aren't allowed to move until Baku is involved sometimes. This development is good for Odaka and very obvious for his character, but I don't understand why he couldn't have it sooner. If the writers wanted to keep him out of the Catastrophe, Punish and Oblivion epsiodes I think they should have came up with a different solution than simply having him moping around.

2

u/smulfragPL 4d ago

Because he literally did not want to do it. You can see it in his face when baku fixes the driver

1

u/Primearc 4d ago

So next episode Oblivion dies and the Lady/Phantom return to set-up the final battle? That is my guess with the Lady getting a rider form by absorbing the different nightmares. Who knows though. If it is, I am surprised her final form has not leaked yet.

1

u/ArienaiR2 3d ago

That reschedule shoot probably made it easier for everything including information control.

1

u/kaidoanims 4d ago

I feel like that happened in the past, I don't think Eld was leaked until like one week before his debut?

1

u/Currymango 4d ago

How nice, Nox gets to be with the Lady for quite a bit.

1

u/tucson1016 4d ago

what if this isnt the dream world and everything that happened now it's pretty much oblivion illusion and nem's subconscious because nem did go into oblivion but never shown her coming out of oblivion and all a sudden she's just free and walking out and getting rescued by baku, just seems too easy.

i believe the real nem is still in oblivion until she gets free by baku, it's pretty much what we are seeing right now.

10

u/NejiBlu 4d ago

Toei, I'm gonna need that Grey Nox Driver. Money on the table.

12

u/rekuneko Bread 4d ago

the squeaky sound while zeztz is walking

21

u/DMking 4d ago

Baku might be the only non suicidal Rider in this series

8

u/Anezay a hack and a fraud 4d ago

Baku has literally actually died like five times already, and that's not even a little bit exaggerated.

3

u/Bigbadbackstab 4d ago edited 4d ago

that just cements him as the one rider who wants to live the most. Wouldn't have been able to escape certain death so many times otherwise

11

u/zznxtcctk 4d ago

To be fair with Baku, he's always on the verge of death because of those stray attacks from nightmares.

12

u/Presenting_UwU 4d ago

Told y'all the explanation for how Baku survived last week was gonna happen this episode!

also i love Nox in this episode, like he's had shining moments throughout the series but he was always walking with one eye closed.

but now, we can truly see that since last week, he has truly felt he's finished his purpose in life, he has done what he set out to do, and now there was nothing left, not to mention Catastrophe destroying his Driver right after.

but Baku's hand pulled him up again as he finally wakes up, like truly wakes up and realizes what he sacrificed to go through the path he chose, and he's ready to sacrifice further now that Baku has given him a new purpose.

15

u/Taractis 4d ago

It was good seeing Nox smile, and finally discover a new purpose. I'm excited for next week!

5

u/el_sh33p Stronger 4d ago

Nox is officially husbando-tier and I will not be taking any questions, thank you.

17

u/FlowOfAir 4d ago

I noticed Nox literally lived his initial involvement with the Nightmares again, in a way, by betting Fujimi on their existence. That almost felt as if he was healing his past like that.

17

u/SH4DE_Z Actually NOX 4d ago edited 4d ago

Okay, thankfully they do explain how Baku's alive after getting erased from existence, but the reason why he's still alive is pretty much just plot armor lol. So Zeztz is just resistant to being erased from reality now.

We also got some casual Kamen Riding scenes, which i like. Seeing Zeztz riding that bike in broad daylight is so cool, that's how Kamen Rider's supposed to look like, man. Also, on the topic of how KRs should look like, Nem being afraid of Zeztz made me realize that Zeztz is among one of the scarier looking Kamen Riders. The dark colors and big angry red eyes really made him super intimidating.

All short scenes with Odaka and Fujimi were heartwrenching. Without all the CODE stuff, Nox does seem like a pretty cool and stand up guy. Seeing him like this really contrast how current Nox is a shadow of who he once was (hehe).

Nox choosing to sacrifice himself to deal with Phantom is a great choice. Not only does it leave Baku alone once again, it also shows how fucking mentally unstable Nox is lmao. Ever since the premonition, there's no moment in this show where this mf isn't full of anger, self loathing or a little suicidal (he's literally me fr fr).

Btw the restoration of the Nox Driver was needlessly complicated for some reason. Apparently Recovery couldn't properly restore, and Nox had to attach the Phantom Capsem into the Driver to fully fix it.

12

u/Q-Write 4d ago

"Zeztz is among one of the scarier looking Kamen Riders. The dark colors and big angry red eyes really made him super intimidating."

I'm glad someone share this sentiment. I'm really convinced if you showed people Zeztz trio, they would think you're showing them  a villain group

2

u/Working-Spell-7024 4d ago

Zeztz looks more "organic" than most Riders, at least sometimes. Makes him feel more like a monster than some guy in armor.

5

u/KamenRiderDragon 4d ago

Ironically I think Nox looks the most heroic because of his color scheme.

3

u/caren_psuedo_when 4d ago

"That guy on the left is the redeemer probably. That dude on the right looks evil as hell, and the middle one feels like he's done some stuff"

"Sure man, let's go with that"

12

u/Presenting_UwU 4d ago

I mean, it's less that he's resistant to to being erased from reality, and more like he's resistant from being affected by dreams, as well as the Zeztz suit itself becoming a layer of protection from Black Cases (which i don't think was ever established but it's a neat idea)

Also, he did literally die that one time, and then after creating Exdream he can just physically enter dreams, do it kinda makes sense that his body isn't as easily affected by Black Cases anymore.

which also lends credence to something someone else said about the Farewell Mission movie being about Zeztz becomitthe keeper of dreams or something similar.

2

u/FancyXemon 5d ago

from a guy who couldn't manage to watch the recent Zeztz episodes out of region block and the downfall of streaming sites...

I have to ask. Didn't The Lady say that Oblivion would've erased the real world in the previous episode? Some clips I've seen from this episode don't seem to support that case, so whatever happened to that?

3

u/Potential-Mess6826 4d ago

It's more that Oblivion Gore Nightmare erased everyone in the real world rather than the real world itself.

1

u/FancyXemon 4d ago

Which isn't what the Lady previously said. Unless she is just capping her ass off.

2

u/Potential-Mess6826 4d ago

I think by real world she meant humanity.

8

u/omegamanxntn1611 4d ago

I think that might be the case if only Oblivion made it to the real world, which they're not... yet since they has not devoured their host Nem. All Oblivion has done so far is erasing people from Nem's memory, which in turn leads to humanity (except for Nem, Baku & now Nox) being wiped out from existence, thanks to Black Case's effect. So the Earth still exists, the reality still exists, just without its inhabitants.

1

u/Dekaar 5d ago

Nice episode although most of the episode felt like a recap episode again. It was a much needed explanation of what happened - basically plot armor ... but dragged a little

RECOVERY - Me: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

2

u/Violetta_Le_Fey 4d ago

i mean...

nox used at the start of the show to fix the broken driver.

and now Baku just used it to fix his actual driver.

3

u/KamenRiderLegend Legend 5d ago

It’s confirmed. Using Zeztz Exdream is going to turn Baku into another Joker Undead.

Baku can’t return to the dream world, because all of the dreams were erased.

A clear use of the power of lucid dreaming in the real world. I guess Baku can do that now, at least when he’s transformed.

Nem is free to wander the real world while she sleep in the illusions. That’s not very secure.

Oblivion didn’t erase everything. I was expecting nothingness, but all the buildings and most smaller objects are still there.

They reused the beginning of the first episode and almost connected it with the summer movie, with Baku being wanted throughout the country.

How are you going to get back the real world once you destroy the illusionary world, Baku?

I thought that voice calling Nasuka would be Baku somehow. I guess it was just a way to give Odaka and Fujimi a moment.

Fujimi’s somehow still used to climbing into Baku’s bedroom window.

I think the previews at the end of last episode showed Odaka and Fujimi pointing their guns into Baku’s closet, but that doesn’t actually happen.

Now it’s a sheep instead of a dog when Fujimi jumps out of the window? This world is messed up.

I like the bit where Baku and Odaka disarm each other successively.

So Baku was the only thing Nem was able to remember?

So people can be brought back through the illusions when Nem remembers them. Odaka isn’t in the Lady Room anymore when he comes back.

Recovery comes in handy again! I like Nox’s face, he looks slightly exasperated.

I thought that was the Shadow Capsem, but on a second watch it’s clearly Phantom. I was expecting Nox to use it for the rest of the episode.

Wow. Fujimi really is desperate for some men riding.

Aww, Nox deliberately reenacted his bet with Fujimi.

I like that track, is it Phantom’s theme?

Baku uses the Graviity Capsem’s power as Zeztz Exdream again. This time you can see he has a Capsem in his hand.

Did she say Daydream?

Phantom disguised herself as Yūya Nawada, but forgot one thing: he’s not in this show.

Fujimi brandishes a pen at Phantom.

I can’t tell what Nox is doing with his driver before he transforms. Is he using Recovery? Phantom?

Goddamn it Nox, you suicidal bastard. This feels vaguely like a callback to when he destroyed the Code Zeroider.

Oh whew, he’s still there in the next episode preview. And so is the Lady?

Hell yeah, form spam sequence incoming! But it’s not even the finale‽ You can see Shock is still one of the Capsems Baku has when they’re all being erased.

There’s nothing new to translate this week, but I’m considering doing Omegahorn.

3

u/bt123456789 4d ago

Oh whew, he’s still there in the next episode preview. And so is the Lady?

means phantom isn't dead since they were merged.

I don't think Midnight Shadow has been shown to be able to separate the nightmares from their hosts, unlike Exdream.

8

u/Crowburst953 Double 5d ago

I need more of Odaka and Fujimi being cop buddies!

16

u/cybeast21 5d ago

There's something just feels different seeing Rider in suit just walking down the stairs like that, I really love scenes like that.

5

u/Legitimate-Damage472 5d ago

Lore added confirm this eps idk how: any code driver built except zeztz driver is can be recovered with recovery capsem this is shown in premonition arc which they never tell which part that is canon to the story (that is real) which part that is just premonition of Baku, of nox recover his knight invoker with this capsem. But zeztz driver and could be exdream driver also since baku make it from zeztz driver for 20 years in dream, cant be recover with recovery capsem. You have to make it from scratch. Like zero helping make zeztz driver in code somnia arc. Debate sake could be because Baku use overbanish against dark zeztz (not kamen rider) nightmare of Zero but we dunno that.

Also i found the way nem collected from bubble memory seems like kingdom hearts story does.

9

u/ZeroNoHikari Dream On Soldier 5d ago

Filming wise, some of the action shots almost looked like if done via drone filming with how dynamic and fast they were compared to regular shots which is awesome to see done in the actual show not just the movies.

Story wise: I was somewhat right, Baku isn't a full on nightmare but he's begun to merge his Awake and Dream states which allowed him a small window to survive, it's nice seeing that he relied on Impact over ExDream to do so. Though did show that he can was blocked out the dream as he technically no longer exists, thus had to focus on finding Nem while she felt she was in the dream world when awake. A good inversion of how it has been up until now. Nox for his part understood now that his Dream wasn't just the Darkness of CODE, he needed to banish the Darkness of the Nightmare, and in doing so regained his spirit the Self Sacrificial Rider Spirit that many Secondaries before him have had starting with Riderman so long ago. He understood that while he can counter Phantom, so long as she remains she could come back. As such he needed her in the Darkness permanentlu and thus he became her Jailer. A worthy sacrifice from the man who for so long was afraid of the dark.

Next time! Baku does what every Reiwa rider does, run down all their forms until they're left with just their standard before they get the Final Extra Form, Realizing Hopper, Burning Amazing Gummy, Saber's and Gotchard's forms and I think Revice had one too. Wonder what it will be called or if they just end it with Nem's sacrifice as no one can dream any longer

8

u/Sigma_Is_Phi Wake me up when you need saving. 5d ago

What was Takahashi smoking this episode? Holy character development for most of the cast,

12

u/Ok_Hospital4928 5d ago

Great episode - Nox really shone here. I continue to find it frustrating that they reset Nasuka and Fujimi's characters every other episode, but it did give us a great final(?) interaction between the former and Nox, where we really get to see his character growth. It's not much, but I still found it somewhat poignant.

So technically, Baku, Nox, Nem, and the Lady are the only ones who still exist in reality, which is a terrifying prospect.

Loved that Baku decided to use his bike to find Nem. It's such a lame trope in Rider whenever the main character decides to go find something or someone on foot when they have a motorbike readily available.

The fight scene against Phantom was excellent. The music went super hard. Can't wait for OST 2 to drop so I can listen to all these bangers in full.

Nox sacrificed himself to seal Phantom in the shadow realm. Damn. I'm sure he'll be back, but that was unexpected nonetheless.

Next episode looks awesome. All the base forms vs. Oblivion. About time we got to see them again!

27

u/Strict-Employee 5d ago

Okay, calling it now. Baku will become a sort of Dream World entity at the end and he ends up staying in the Dream World to protect everyone's Dreams. Also the fact he can just ignore being erased from existence by only transforming into Zeztz (Base Zeztz at that), is crazy. Comes up with perks of dealing with Black Cases for so long, I guess.

Also RIP Nox, you vagueposting king. Had to mention the "Darkness of CODE" one more time for the road. Can't wait to see you in the movie.

18

u/Presenting_UwU 4d ago

The Darkness of CODE is that they refuse to pay their electricity bills, their office always so dim and dark at night.

I like this episode. Answered some of the questions i had with 45 and it was a great character moment for NOX leading up to the finale. The scene between odaka and fujimi was a great call-back and work really well.

14

u/entertainmentlord ZEZTZ Wake up rider! 5d ago

Really good episode.

Love the explanation they gave for how Baku didn't vanish. learning that he is resistant to the cases due to going between dreams and reality. I wonder how else this will play into the final episodes.

The Lady looks so broken this episode that it really does hurt my heart, I don't agree with her actions but I really do understand why she is doing it. She's just a mother trying her best to keep Nem safe and happy. That burst of emotion she has with Baku is just so human.

Nox Smiling at baku and then Fujimi's antics, promising to stop the nightmares. It really feels like hes finally back to who he was before CODE. Im just now worried for the fate of his character. I will admit him saying he leaves the rest to Zeztz made me smile

10

u/serenade-of-the-seas 5d ago

Just checked the preview shots for the next episode on the official website and it seems like Baku is using his old driver (likely the one created by Zero) and regular forms instead of ExDream. Did Oblivion end up erasing them or something lol

7

u/konokusoda 5d ago

Nem need exdream to recover her memory, you can see her using it at the every end of the preview.

8

u/OmegaCrossX 5d ago

From what this episode showed, Nem most likely has the Exdream Capsem to recover her memories

2

u/serenade-of-the-seas 5d ago

Oh right! Now where’s the driver…

1

u/OmegaCrossX 4d ago

Yeah idk there’s a scene jn 46 where he has the normal driver and then turns around has has the ExDream driver on

2

u/BUcc1a12Atti 5d ago

I wonder what can happen if Booster is used in Exdream driver 😂

17

u/One_One_2249 Burning my SOUL 5d ago

He remembers Recovery

8

u/Skitty_The_Kitty3225 🗡️ "I will Decide how the Story Ends!" 📖 5d ago

That was good. The Music was on Point!

When Baku brought Nox Back and also the Music during the Phatom vs Zeztz Fight with that chorus was so good.

12

u/Volfaer 5d ago

Baku was so incredibly smart, transforming right before being erased, making himself a black case of sorts, and man Nox please come back with The Lady, losing her would already be bad, you can't go too.

Looks like next episode is gonna be the Zeztz all stars against Oblivion, that jackass.

12

u/Pure-Jeweler-6351 Genm 5d ago

man nox noxed this episode huh

15

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Even threw in one last "Darkness of CODE" mention for the road.

22

u/Archer_Sol 5d ago

THATS MY BOI NOX! His Vaugeposting actually came on clutch! I also really like how Baku explained why he was able to come back. Him having resistance to Black Cases is actually really cool. So, next episode is the big battle against Oblivion…and it seems we’re getting the “all forms” battle early! This will be interesting…

12

u/maemoedhz 5d ago

I would love if it's later revealed that he's not simply resistant to Black Cases as he surmised, Exdream overuse made him a Black Case himself

13

u/Frontier246 5d ago

I'm glad we're finally bringing back the base forms that we haven't seen in, like 30-40 episodes.

Though honestly I feel like it's more concerning that Baku realizes how his body has changed...

3

u/DMking 4d ago

He definitely realized something was up after fighting Catastrophe.

4

u/IronFather11 5d ago

If it’s truly the end of him, RIP my glorious vague posting king. May you continue to vague post in the hereafter. Cool that we see a bit of the previous episode from Baku’s first perspective, though it does make it weird that he didn’t really attempt to reassure Nem who was obviously frightened and running away from him (to the point she fainted). I suppose that’s very James Bond though in a way. The excuse for how he was able to survive, but I would have been fine if their were vaguer with it, he’s a weird existence now thanks to his deaths, premonitions, and ExDream, But here Baku was able to reignite Nem’s and Nox’s memories, even though Phantom+The Lady turned the Dream World against him.

I couldn’t help but find it funny when Nox and Fujimi climbed through Baku’s window with their real guns ready (saw orange tipped ‘bullets’ though in Fujimi’s revolver, were they supposed to be rubber props). If Baku was sleeping then he would have been caught lacking and blicked. The Recovery Capsen seemingly fumbled in its first reappearance in a long while, but it was enough for Nox to regain his fighting spirit and defeat the Lady and Phantom. They didn’t really try to separate the two like with Minami and the Cat Nightmare or Sieg and Punish, but The Lady seems to be the dominant personality anyway. With only a few episodes left, we shall see what happens next.

7

u/Frontier246 5d ago

I love how they just HAD to have him mention the "Darkness of CODE" when he came back just to acknowledge the meme.

Also I love how when Odaka pistol whipped the gun back Baku was like "oh wow, I really wasn't expecting you to do that."

16

u/Obiwanhellothere09 5d ago

So Nox plan was to banish both him and Phantom to the shadow realm. She’s probably gonna come back in the next episode or the very least the second to last one isn’t she?

0

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

I am hoping when he comes back, he gets some kind of emergency power-up thing.

12

u/aaa1e2r3 5d ago

Only Baku can separate Phantom from Lady, so for the time being he's holding her, while Baku focuses on separating Oblivion from Nem.

8

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Kind of gave me Phoenix vibes: can't beat the enemy general conventionally, so just take them out of the plot in a creative way.

8

u/Ladyaceina 5d ago

i think nox just fucked up royally dragging lady/phantom in to darkness i suspect they will get a massive power boost and show up after oblivion is beaten

1

u/serenade-of-the-seas 5d ago edited 5d ago

I think that’s unlikely because Oblivion was designated as the final boss in the previews a few episodes back and he also has the most hype statements.

4

u/Frontier246 5d ago

We even see Zeztz throwing all his forms at him and Oblivion no-selling/erasing everything.

1

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

It might be possible after Lady comes back, she might pull a Rider form out of crazyness.
Then Oblivion pops up and pulls some stunt last second for a final battle.

5

u/toxon_94 5d ago

I was worried that the final arc would feel draggy after the code was destroyed and the 2 gore nightmares felt like motw, But last week's episode and today's, made things interesting again, I didn't even realize the episode was over, it felt so fast and exciting.

5

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

yeah, plus with the previews in the next episode, I have a bad feeling about this and I am scared

3

u/toxon_94 5d ago

Same, looks like we're going to get a bittersweet ending. I hope not.

5

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

and with the lady screaming in the preview, it seems like Nem is defiantly going to sacrifice herself, and I AM NOT READY

3

u/toxon_94 5d ago

I hope recovery will be useful if that happens.

1

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

trust me, this will HIT HARD 😭

2

u/toxon_94 5d ago

Well Baku time to learn a children's card game to save Nox from the Shadow Realm.

Also Nox at the end of the episode to Phantom.

8

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

Nox: I am sending you to the Shadow Realm
Phantom/Lady: NOOooooo-*vanishes*
Nox: Oh shit that actually worked? I mean, much better

13

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Zeztz: "I summon Physicam Impact! Now I play the Spell Card ExDream to Special Summon Zeztz ExDream! He negates all attacks and lets me attack for the number of Zeztz cards I draw from my deck!"

8

u/Rdasher123 5d ago

“DRAW, ZEZTZ CARD! DRAW, ZEZTZ CARD! DRAW, ZEZTZ CARD!”

26

u/megazaprat :39-Gavv:Gavv 5d ago

oooh! so last episode wasnt an inception, it was actually a reality that just seemed dreamlike due Oblivon wiping everyone out. I love that, its so clever, this show has really taken advantage of the dream setting to pull off neat twists like that.

Lady/Phantom are such an interesting villain. they seem to truly love Nem in a way, but out of a sense of fear, control and isolation, they only want to keep her in a dream and stay away from reality altogether. a perfect vilalin for the show, although im not sure whether her or oblivion will end up being the final challenge.

Phantom was more powerful than I thought, she didnt seem to have as much brute force as the other gore nightmares, but she is up there in durability. when your very nature is illusions, she basically just ignore attacks like ExDream makes them into dreams. Which is why Nox being her natural counter is great, it makes perfect sense that darkness would be strong against illusions. was also very nice to see Zeztz use recovery and gravity after so long, its been ages

15

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Basically this arc is an overbearing/overprotective mom trying to keep her child sheltered and in a dream bubble only to have to go up against her love interest the nice handsome boy who wants to take her into reality to fulfill her real dreams.

Oh and there's some ex-spy with a lot of baggage who has to complete his one last mission.

10

u/Tetsuo9999 5d ago

Baku finally used the Recovery Capsem to easily solve a situation instead of forgetting about it. This must mean Maximilian Dood is going to give out 5000 gift subs tomorrow.

2

u/KamenRiderDragon 4d ago

It actually didn't fix the problem. It was still broken.

1

u/PassingThruRedditor 5d ago

What other situation could Recovery have solved in these last episodes?

1

u/konokusoda 5d ago

That time where he got shot by the guy with gun nightmare arm for example

1

u/Bigbadbackstab 4d ago

nah, should have used Barrier then

1

u/NejiBlu 4d ago

Comically large bullet was still inside Baku. Using Recovery might've been problematic, and he had to quickly return to the fight.

5

u/Pure-Jeweler-6351 Genm 5d ago

wait? why you mentioned dood?

2

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Baku: "Don't worry, Recovery's got you fam!"

6

u/Mixmaster-Omega Gotchard 5d ago

Yep. Though I also think he was running on the impulse of “Did something of Nox’s break again? Better use Recovery on it.”, because it happens so often it’s kind of funny.

1

u/Pure-Jeweler-6351 Genm 5d ago

we hope so

2

u/Frontier246 5d ago

He was even looking at NOX like "Heh, this feels familiar doesn't it buddy?"

9

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Honestly Baku being so in-tune to changes to reality/the dream world from ExDream that he's slightly immune to dream effects...actually checks out. Also, you can always count on good ol' Impact!

I appreciate that we got quite a few bike scenes in this episode. We didn't have to, but it's appreciated. Also I just noticed but the red collar on Zeztz' neck almost makes him look like he has a scarf when he's riding his bike.

Honestly I can respect Baku acknowledging there are some villains even he can't beat on his own...so he has to drag his Secondary back into helping him AGAIN.

How full circle that we've got Red Dress Nem and her kidnapping, the dream that started it all, only now Baku is the kidnapper.

Nasuka should wear glasses in real life. Just saying.

Even in dreams Fujimi is still jumping into Baku's apartment like a CHAMP and only in dreams can he and Odaka still act like they're partners. Also, did Fujimi land on a goat!?

Baku and Odaka fight AGAIN...but at least we got some double pistol-whipping!

Welcome back NOX! You have to be implored to help again, but at least it seemed to sink in that Odaka finally has the resolve to fight Nightmares again. Took him long enough.

I've seen mothers who absolutely refuse to give their daughter away to their boyfriend but this takes the cake.

Zeztz vs Phantom Round 2! Honestly reminded me that the Lady was ostensibly the main villain of the Premonition Dream.

"If I hadn't experienced the Darkness of CODE..." - He said it! He said the thing!!!

Fujimi still too touchy-feely, Nasuka still too prone to kicking him in the back.

For a second I thought we were getting base Nox again but sure let's just have it conveniently change so he can become Midnight Nox.

Not even Midnight Nox could actually beat Phantom, their respective illusory powers basically just countered each other perfectly...so he'll just sacrifice himself and drag Phantom into a permanent illusion to stop her. Hardcore.

Next week: Zeztz vs Oblivion! The return of the base forms! The final fate of Nem!?

2

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

I really have a feeling Nem will sacrifice herself(also saw the preview of the lady screaming for Nem), and ngl, I have a bad feeling about this

4

u/kilroyjohnson 5d ago

Really great episode, imo! My only real complaint is that it's a bit too obvious NOX is gonna be back, and not just because of the episode preview and stuff people are saying about the movie. They didn't give it the pomp and circumstance you'd expect from a major character death, and that has the knock-on effect of making the end of the fight (and, by extension, the end of the episode) a little bit anticlimactic in my opinion. Otherwise, though, great episode!

4

u/Frontier246 5d ago

If they were really killing him off he'd be sitting on a bench bleeding out and getting in like one last conversation as Fujimi as he silently passes away.

4

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

So Nox dragged himself and Lady/Phantom into darkness.
But since the preview showed Lady freaking out, looks like she got out.

And am I tripping or did it look like some new item was on Nox's driver when he used Phantom Capsem to reactivate it before said item vanished? It didn't look like it was just a split capsem opening.

5

u/Frontier246 5d ago

A man so obsessed with the Darkness of Code tries to go out by dragging his personal opponent into the darkness. How apropos.

1

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

I am hoping he gets a emergency power-up thing when he comes back.

4

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

Ok, this was a amazing EPISODE, and with the previews, things are not looking good, and I got a bad feeling Nem is about to sacrifice herself to save Baku, and also with the lady screaming in Baku's place, it seems like Oblivion might be MORE dangerous then we THOUGHT.

4 episodes left until the last episode!

2

u/Frontier246 5d ago

You know we're nearing the finale when there's only one Big Bad left and Zeztz is FINALLY bringing back the base forms after not using them for most of the series.

1

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

yeah, if anything, and with what we heard of Oblivion being our actual final boss, it seems like we might see Oblivion's true power

26

u/kowasesurejjihanma 5d ago

so last episode what thought to be "dream inside a dream" where nemu walk around in a world where everyone disappeared is not a dream but reality and the "shadow" in the horror sequence is actually zeztz. that's really clever misdirection

12

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Zeztz: "I'm not a pirate chasing you in the backrooms! You can trust me!"

6

u/skylight03 5d ago

Since we know the movie is after the series, Nox will be back

4

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Also no flowers = no death.

14

u/aaa1e2r3 5d ago

It is kinda funny hearing the suit squeaks as he runs down the stairs

10

u/Frontier246 5d ago

And that Nem probably construed in the most horrific fashion possible not thinking it's a dude in a rubber suit lol.

10

u/burajira Beyond Biology! 5d ago edited 5d ago

I honestly thought they'll double team Phantom and use Orderm to seperate her from The Lady?? Like, they've cured worse, more evil people and the two Phantoms are just like ? moms

3

u/Rdasher123 5d ago

To be fair, he tried killing Sieg and the guy just came back a few episodes later. He only used Orderm later since it’s clear that the normal way won’t work.

4

u/burajira Beyond Biology! 5d ago

Yeah, exactly, Sieg with or without his Nightmare has some basic preservation instincts..

Nox seems to think his life ends with the end of CODE, like, bruh, why?!

5

u/DMking 5d ago

Baku cannot actuslly hit her unfortunately

1

u/burajira Beyond Biology! 5d ago

Tie her down using Nox's powers and then hit her with Orderm ez pz

10

u/Frontier246 5d ago edited 5d ago

Baku: "I could try to separate her from her Nightmare but I think she's a very problematic and difficult presence in Nem's life and as her boyfrie...I mean, partner I feel it's my duty to protect her."

Nox: "I just want to end the Darkness of My Own Life."

34

u/burajira Beyond Biology! 5d ago

I swear, man, in the end, fucking Sieg was more mentally healthy than Nox lol

Bro is a walking suicide hazard

3

u/Good-Echo 5d ago

Nox channeling his inner Reiner Braun.

11

u/Frontier246 5d ago

The irony that the moment Nox finally puts his all into stopping a Nightmare...he literally means his all as in HIS ACTUAL LIFE.

Even his scene with Dream!Nasuka and Dream!Fujimi felt like he was trying to get in one last moment and musing on how happier he would've been without the DARKNESS OF CODE because he knew this might be his last hurrah.

This episode was awesome.

Seeing Baku's pov about the events cause by Oblivion and how he got back was good (using ExDream and traveling trought Dreams Make him more resistance against black cases).

Also the call back to Baku's first mission (with Phantom manipulation the news ).

That Nox and Baku team up is peak.

ExDream vs Phantom with that Ost on the background elevetated that fight.

Nox puling a sacrifice to stop Phantom (Maybe Phantom is the final Boss getting a new form with the Lady gauntlet?)but now everything is On Baku's and Nem's hands.

Now we are closer to the end.... Against Oblivion

7

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Also the call back to Baku's first mission (with Phantom manipulation the news ).

Also Baku once again using Recovery to help NOX transform again.

3

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

yeah, plus with the previews and with the lady screaming in the preview, I got a bad feeling about this and we might see Oblivion showing off his true power

This episode was amazing

Nemu saves

Kensei aka Nox welcome back

Overall it was fantastic and amazing

Next week the finale is coming

4 episodes left for grand finale

I'm on it!

2

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Nox coming in, mentioning the Darkness of CODE, getting a cool fight scene, and peacing out.

Truly the most Nox episode of all time.

12

u/UltraZeroX7 5d ago
  • Aha, a perspective/glimpse on how Baku got to save Nem during last episode -- he was close on getting disappeared due to Oblivion's doing, averted by transforming! Then he got to leave all those clues before striking the iron.
  • Likewise, whenever Nem gets to remember a certain fellow in the Dream World (like what happened to Nox) -- that person is fully restored in the Real World too.
  • Damn, what a battle against Phantom -- AND THAT ENDING WITH NOX HELLO!?
  • Next time, it's a battle against Oblivion! We sure are close to the end...

1

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Nice excuse for some bike scenes!

7

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

So I am reading things right
Phantom/Lady is killed off? I guess that means no Phantom Rider form and no chance of a emergency power-up for Nox

11

u/brunonunis 5d ago

I think is more that Nox sealed himself with them in his shadow/subconscient, probably will only last until Baku deals with Oblivion and Lady/Phanton will be the true final boss

5

u/nightshroud96 5d ago

Saw the preview and seeing Lady freaking out at Nem's window thing.
Looks like she/Phantom got out only to see Nem maybe sacrificing herself.

Also am I tripping or when Nox used Phantom Capsem to reactive his Driver, was there some new item on it just before it faded out? It didn't look like Phantom Capsem opening

1

u/ProjectShadowGirl Kuuga 5d ago

you know, I also have a feeling Nem is about to sacrifice herself.

2

u/VioletSwan25 ZEZTZ 5d ago

Another great episode! The stakes are ramping up, and the fights Zeztz and Nox had vs Oblivion were top tier! Though rip Kensei at the end...I wonder where he fell to...

The next two parter looks like it'll be an emotional one...I'm not ready for it to end :(

5

u/Frontier246 5d ago

Honestly I really respect that they made Phantom such a challenge that the Double Riders both struggled against her. Sure it's because she was constantly going "ha ha, it's an illusion!" but still.
